Tesla is one of the highest volume EV platforms in our customer base, anchored by the Model 3 and Model Y on the mainstream side and the Model S and Model X on the flagship side. The Cybertruck launched in late 2023 as the brand's first truck platform. Tesla fitment splits across three bolt patterns depending on the model. The Model 3 and Model Y use 5x114.3, the same pattern shared with the broader Japanese mainstream lineup. The Model S and Model X use 5x120, the pattern shared with BMW, modern Cadillac (ATS/CTS), and the modern Camaro. The Cybertruck uses 6x139.7, the GM truck class pattern shared with the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Sierra 1500, and Yukon. The Model 3 Performance, Model S Plaid, and Model X Plaid all run larger brake packages than their base trims. The Tesla Bolt Pattern Landscape

Tesla runs three bolt patterns. The Model 3 and Model Y use 5x114.3. The Model S and Model X use 5x120. The Cybertruck uses 6x139.7.

The Model 3/Model Y on 5x114.3 and the Model S/Model X on 5x120 do not share wheels. The Cybertruck on 6x139.7 sits in its own truck class lane. Buyers cross shopping wheels between Tesla models need to confirm the bolt pattern for the specific car.

How We Confirm Fitment

Element Wheels measures fitment on Tesla models we sell wheels for. For each chassis and brake combination we measure clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and any suspension components, brake caliper height, hub protrusion, lug height, and how much room the front wheel has when turning lock to lock. We do this on the car, not from a spec sheet.

That measurement work covers the most active Tesla platforms across the catalog. The Model 3 Performance is tracked separately from the base Model 3 because of the larger front brake setup. The Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid are tracked separately because of the larger brake packages and the heavier curb weight that narrows the offset window. The Cybertruck is tracked separately on the 6x139.7 truck platform.
