The Performance ships with a stepped hub: a 64.1mm inner hub face stepped out to a 70.1mm outer ring. The customer-relevant rule: a Performance fits wheels with EITHER a 64.1mm OR a 70.1mm centerbore. Bores between those two values do not fit cleanly. The Performance uses a stepped hub (64.1mm inner / 70.1mm outer), so it accepts wheels bored to either of those two centerbores and a tighter aftermarket offset window because of the larger brake package.

The Tesla Model 3 Bolt Pattern

Every Tesla Model 3 uses 5x114.3 (also called 5x4.5, because 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). That covers the Non-Performance trims (Standard Range, Long Range RWD, Long Range AWD on certain years), the Performance, and the 2026 Highland refresh. The wheel face hub bore is 64.1mm on the Non-Performance trims. The Performance carries a stepped hub: a 64.1mm inner face and a 70.1mm outer ring.

5x114.3 is a common Japanese-pattern bolt spacing, but the Model 3 hub bore (64.1mm on Non-Performance, 64.1/70.1mm stepped on Performance) is smaller than the typical Japanese 66.1mm bore. That means a Honda or Toyota wheel with a 66.1mm bore will not be hub-centric on a Non-Performance Model 3 without a centering ring. The pattern also matches the Model Y, but offset and width windows differ between the two platforms because the Model Y is the taller SUV body, and the Model Y hub is a clean 64.1mm bore on every trim, not the Model 3 Performance stepped design. Tesla Model 3 Performance Stepped Hub

The Performance trim ships with a stepped hub design that the Non-Performance trims do not carry. The hub geometry, measured directly on a customer Performance: a 64.1mm inner hub face stepped out to a 70.1mm outer ring. The step ring itself is roughly 13mm wide, 2.25mm thick at the outer step, and 3.00mm at the inner step.

The customer-relevant rule for buying a wheel: a wheel with a 64.1mm centerbore sits hub-centric on the inner core, and a wheel with a 70.1mm centerbore clears the inner core and rides hub-centric on the outer step. Centerbores between 64.1mm and 70.1mm do not fit cleanly. They are too large for the inner hub and too small for the outer step. On the Non-Performance Model 3, the rule is simpler: a 64.1mm centerbore (or a larger bore brought back to 64.1mm with a hub-centric ring) seats on the wheel face. If your fitment needs rings or a sized bore, they'll be included with the order.
