What is an 8 Lug Wheel?

8 Lug wheels and rims are used on heavy duty trucks that use 8 lug nuts to fasten the wheel to the vehicle. Most if not all 8 lug wheels are made for trucks. Generally speaking heavier vehicles require more lugs to meet the load requirements. Some popular 8 lug bolt patterns are 8x165, 8x180, 8x210

How many different 8 lug bolt patterns exist?

The 8x165.1 mm (or 8x6.5") bolt pattern is common on older GM, Dodge, and Ford trucks. The 8x170 mm pattern is used on Ford trucks from 1999 and newer, while the 8x180 mm pattern is found on GM trucks (like Chevy and GMC) from 2011 and newer. The 8x200 mm pattern is typically used on Ford Super Duty trucks, including the F-250 and F-350, from 2005 to the present.

The 8x210 mm pattern appears on some heavy-duty GM trucks, like the Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD and GMC Sierra 3500HD, starting from 2011. An 8x275 mm bolt pattern is common on larger trucks, including commercial or specialty vehicles. The 8x220 mm pattern is used on older Ford Super Duty trucks, specifically the F-450 and F-550 models, while the 8x225 mm pattern is primarily found on certain European and commercial trucks.
