What are forged wheels, and how are they different from cast or flow formed wheels?

Forged wheels are generally stronger and lighter than cast or flow formed wheels. This is because forged aluminum is made by compressing a solid piece of metal under extreme heat and pressure, which results in a denser and stronger material. Cast and flow formed wheels start off by pouring molten aluminum into a mold which does not provide as much density and strength. 

What are the advantages of forged wheels?

Forged wheels are more resistant to damage such as bending from impact. They are lighter and stronger than cast or flow formed wheels which results in better handling, performance, acceleration, and braking.

Are forged wheels worth the cost?
