The Aston Martin Rapide is the four-door V12 grand tourer Aston Martin built from 2010 through 2020. It is the rare four-door car in the Aston Martin lineup and Aston Martin's answer to the Porsche Panamera and the Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door, with the same long hood, V12 forward, rear drive layout as the coupe DB9 and DBS but extended for two more doors and a usable rear bench. The Rapide ran on the Aston Martin VH (Vertical Horizontal) platform, the same architecture that underpinned the DB9, the DBS, the Vantage of that era, and the Vanquish. Production ended in 2020 and Aston Martin's four-door market position shifted to the DBX SUV. The Rapide ran a single platform generation from 2010 through 2020, with the trim variations layered on top of the same VH chassis. The original Rapide (2010-2013) ran a 6.0L naturally aspirated V12. The Rapide S (2013-2020) carried a more powerful version of the same V12 with a revised front grille and aero updates. The Rapide AMR (2018-2020) was the high-output limited production variant. The Rapide E (2019-2020) was the electric prototype with very limited production. Bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec are the same across every Rapide trim. The brake package is the variable: carbon ceramic Brembo brakes were optional on later Rapide S trims and standard on the Rapide AMR, where they were not offered on the original 2010-2013 Rapide.

The Aston Martin Rapide Bolt Pattern and Hub Bore

Every Rapide from 2010 through 2020 runs 5x128 with a 75.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts. The 5x128 pattern is the Aston Martin grand tourer spec across the VH platform and is the same pattern used on the DB9, the DBS, the Vanquish, and the Vantage of that era. A wheel built for any Aston Martin VH platform car will bolt to a Rapide at the pattern and centerbore level, with offset and brake clearance verified per car. The 5x128 pattern is rare in the broader aftermarket. It is not the same as 5x130 (the Porsche and VAG grand tourer spec) or 5x114.3 (the most common five lug pattern in the aftermarket). It is also not the same as 5x115. The 3mm separation between 5x128 and 5x130 is enough that the wheel will not seat correctly on a Rapide hub and the lug bolts will stress against the wheel face if forced. Stick to wheels that are explicitly listed as 5x128 for the Rapide.

The hub bore is 75.1mm and the lug spec is M14x1.5 bolts (not studs with separate nuts). Aston Martin threads lug bolts directly into the hub the same way the VW Group and most European manufacturers do. There is no stud to pre align the wheel before tightening, so the hub centric fit matters more on a Rapide than on a stud and nut car. A wheel with a centerbore larger than 75.1mm needs hub centric rings to bring the bore down to the Rapide hub diameter. Why the Rapide Brake Package Determines Wheel Face Clearance

The original Rapide (2010-2013) shipped with a steel Brembo brake package as standard. The Rapide S (2013-2020) carried the same steel Brembo as standard on most production cars, with carbon ceramic Brembo brakes available as an option on later trims. The Rapide AMR (2018-2020) ran the carbon ceramic Brembo package as standard. The bolt pattern, centerbore, and lug spec do not change between steel and carbon ceramic configurations. What changes is the wheel face clearance behind the front caliper. The carbon ceramic Brembo caliper face is physically larger than a steel Brembo and takes more room behind the wheel spokes, so wheels with deeply concave back surfaces need verification against the brake package the car actually has. The front brake is larger than the rear on every Rapide, which is normal on a heavy four-door grand tourer of this caliber. The front axle handles the majority of the braking load and Aston Martin scaled the front rotor and caliper accordingly.

The Rapide is factory staggered with a wider rear wheel and a wider rear tire than the front, the same way the DB9 and the DBS are staggered. Aston Martin engineered the chassis as a front engine, rear drive grand tourer with the 6.0L V12 forward and the drivetrain mass biased to the rear axle, and the four-door body adds curb weight that the staggered geometry helps plant. The factory ships a noticeably wider rear and the aftermarket box respects that. Square setups are not how the Rapide is meant to run.
