BMW iX Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The BMW iX is the full-size electric SUV BMW launched in 2022 on a dedicated EV platform. It is the largest electric BMW currently in production and shares its hub interface with the rest of the modern BMW lineup. Element Wheels measures the iX as a single catalog family covering every model year and every trim from launch through the current production run. Bolt pattern is 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore and M14x1.25 lug bolts. Trim variants include the xDrive40 (entry, dual motor AWD), the xDrive50 (mid-tier with longer range and more power), and the M60 (M Performance flagship). All trims share the same hub spec. The iX ships with square fitment from the factory (same wheel and tire size on every corner), which is the standard configuration on a heavy all wheel drive EV and the only fitment supported in our catalog on this platform. Pick the year range card below for the fitment specs.
Find Your BMW iX Year Range
Pick the year card to see wheels and rims that fit your specific iX. The iX is currently in production as a single chassis with shared spec across the xDrive40, xDrive50, and M60 trims. All trims run 5x112 / 66.56mm with M14x1.25 lug bolts and accept the same diameter and width window in our measured catalog. The M60 carries a larger front brake than the lower trims for the higher power output, which tightens the offset clearance behind the wheel face but does not change the published bolt pattern, hub bore, or diameter range.
The BMW iX Bolt Pattern and Hub Bore
The iX uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore on every model year and every trim. The lug bolt thread is M14x1.25. This is the same modern BMW hub interface used across the X5 (G05), the X6 (G06), the X7 (G07), the current G20 3-Series, the G42 2-Series coupe, and most of the rest of the current BMW lineup. The bolt math allows wheels to cross in pattern between the iX and other modern BMW chassis, but offset windows differ by car. The iX is heavier than the X5 / X6 / X7 because of the battery pack and carries different brake clearance behind the front spokes than a comparable internal combustion SUV. A wheel built for an X7 will bolt to an iX, but the back of wheel clearance should be verified against our iX catalog row before ordering.
The iX uses M14x1.25 lug bolts threaded directly into the hub, not studs with separate nuts. This is the modern BMW standard. There is no stud to pre align the wheel before tightening, so the centerbore handles the centering job at speed. Hub centric fit matters on a vehicle this heavy, especially with the instant electric torque the M60 puts down. A wheel with a centerbore larger than 66.56mm needs hub centric rings to bring the bore down to the iX hub diameter. Compare across the rest of the BMW lineup at our BMW wheels and rims hub.
Why the iX Runs Square and Why the M60 Brake Changes the Offset Window
The iX ships with square fitment from the factory, meaning the same wheel and tire size on every corner. Square is the standard configuration on a heavy all wheel drive EV. The iX has dual motors driving both axles, the battery pack distributes weight more evenly than an internal combustion SUV, and tire rotation matters for even wear on a vehicle this heavy. Staggered builds (wider rear than front) are not supported on the iX in our catalog. The factory and the aftermarket box both keep the wheel and tire spec the same front to rear.
Front brake larger than rear is standard across the iX lineup, which is normal on a heavy performance EV of this caliber. The front axle handles the majority of the braking load on any vehicle, and on the iX the regenerative braking system adds additional load through the front motors, so BMW scaled the front rotor and caliper up accordingly. The M60 carries the largest front brake of the lineup and the tightest offset clearance behind the wheel face. Wheels with deeply concave back surfaces should be verified against the M60 brake package before ordering. The xDrive40 and xDrive50 carry a smaller front brake than the M60 and the offset window opens slightly on those trims.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, BMW iX
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the iX lineup:
- BMW iX (2022 and up): 5x112 bolt pattern, 66.56mm hub bore, M14x1.25 lug bolts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 20 to 24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8.5 to 10 inch (square fitment, same front and rear). Square only. AWD dual motor. Covers xDrive40, xDrive50, and M60 trims. The M60 carries the largest front brake of the lineup, which tightens the offset clearance window behind the wheel face.
Offset windows are tightly controlled on the iX, especially on the M60. For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific iX (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the iX wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation, especially on the M60.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on BMW iX Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the BMW iX in our active catalog. For the iX that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on a vehicle this heavy and this tall, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension and the front motor housing, brake caliper height across the standard and the M60 front brake packages, hub bore confirmation at 66.56mm, lug bolt seat depth for M14x1.25 bolts, and the square front to rear width and offset relationship that holds on every iX build in our catalog. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
BMW iX Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a BMW iX?
Every BMW iX (2022 and up) runs 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore and M14x1.25 lug bolts. The pattern is identical across the xDrive40, xDrive50, and M60 trims and across every model year in production. The same 5x112 / 66.56mm hub interface is used across the modern BMW lineup, including the X5 (G05), X6 (G06), X7 (G07), G20 3-Series, and G42 2-Series coupe.
Will X5, X6, or X7 wheels fit an iX?
At the bolt pattern and hub level, yes. The X5 (G05), the X6 (G06), the X7 (G07), and the iX all share 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore and M14x1.25 lug bolts. Offset and brake clearance still need to be verified because the iX is heavier than the comparable internal combustion SUV and the front motor housing changes the back of wheel clearance. A wheel built for an X7 will bolt to an iX, but the offset window and the back of wheel surface should be confirmed against our iX catalog row before ordering.
What changes between the xDrive40, xDrive50, and M60 for wheels?
The bolt pattern, centerbore, lug spec, and published diameter and width window are the same across all three trims. What changes is the brake package. The M60 carries the largest front brake of the lineup, which sits closer to the wheel face than the xDrive40 and xDrive50 brakes and tightens the offset clearance window behind the wheel face. Wheels with deeply concave back surfaces should be verified against the M60 brake package. The xDrive40 and xDrive50 have more room to work with.
Are BMW iX wheels staggered?
No. The iX ships square from the factory and we keep it square in our catalog. The iX is a dual motor all wheel drive EV with the battery pack distributing weight more evenly than an internal combustion SUV, and tire rotation matters for even wear on a vehicle this heavy. Staggered builds (wider rear than front) are not supported on the iX. The same wheel and tire size on every corner is the only configuration we sell for this platform.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on an iX?
24 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on the iX. 22 inch is the most common aftermarket choice and the typical sweet spot for the chassis. The iX is a large SUV with the room to run a 24 inch wheel, but the tire spec at that diameter requires careful selection to keep the ride quality acceptable on a vehicle this heavy. Below the 20 inch lower bound the wheel begins to look small under the iX's large fender openings.
Does the iX need a different wheel because it is an EV?
The bolt pattern, centerbore, and lug spec are identical to the modern internal combustion BMW SUV lineup. What is different is the curb weight and the torque profile. The iX is significantly heavier than a comparable X7 because of the battery pack and the instant electric torque puts more stress on the wheel and the lug bolts during acceleration than a turbo six does. We pay close attention to load rating on iX wheel recommendations and the offset window is measured directly on the platform, not extrapolated from internal combustion SUV data. The wheels we sell for the iX are validated for the EV weight and torque profile.
What is the lug bolt spec on an iX?
M14x1.25 lug bolts across every iX. BMW threads lug bolts directly into the hub instead of running fixed studs with separate nuts. This is the modern BMW standard and is shared with the X5, X6, X7, G20 3-Series, and the rest of the current lineup. Lug bolts on the iX use the same thread pitch as the rest of the modern BMW family.
Do I need hub centric rings on a BMW iX?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 66.56mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
