Cadillac Catera Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Cadillac Catera is the rear-drive luxury sedan Cadillac sold from the 1997 through the 2001 model year. It is a re-badged Opel Omega B, built in Russelsheim, Germany on GM Europe's Omega chassis, and brought to North America to give Cadillac a sport sedan answer to the entry-level BMW and Mercedes sedans of the late 1990s. That European origin matters for wheels because it gave the Catera a fitment package that is unique inside the Cadillac lineup. Every Catera runs 5x110 with a 65.1mm hub bore, five lugs, M12x1.5 thread pitch, factory lug nuts. The Catera is the only Cadillac sold in North America on the European Opel 5x110 / 65.1mm hub spec. Every other modern Cadillac sedan we catalog (DeVille, Seville, DTS, STS, CTS, ATS, CT5, CT6) is on a different bolt pattern or a different hub bore. Element Wheels measures fitment on the Catera the same way we measure every platform we carry.
Find Your Cadillac Catera Configuration
The Catera ran a single generation in North America from 1997 to 2001. Element Wheels covers the full production run as one fitment row. Click through to see wheels and rims that fit your Catera.
The Cadillac Catera Bolt Pattern is 5x110
Every 1997-2001 Cadillac Catera runs 5x110 with a 65.1mm hub bore. Five lugs, M12x1.5 thread pitch, factory lug nuts. This is the Opel Omega B fitment hardware carried over when GM brought the car to the Cadillac dealer network. 5x110 is a European pattern. It is the same bolt pattern used on a long list of Opel, Vauxhall, Saab, and Fiat platforms from the same era, and it is NOT the GM 5x115 you will find on the DeVille, Seville, DTS, STS, CTS, and most other modern Cadillac sedans.
The 5x110 pattern is not interchangeable with 5x114.3 or 5x115. The three patterns sit close on paper but the stud spacing differs by enough at each lug position to put cumulative stress on the studs if you force the wrong wheel on. If a wheel listing says 5x114.3 or 5x115, it does NOT fit a Catera. Confirm 5x110 before you order. Element Wheels' Year/Make/Model search filters every wheel result to 5x110 when you select a Catera, so you cannot accidentally land on the wrong pattern.
The 65.1mm hub bore is the Opel hub spec. If your aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 65.1mm (common on universal-fit wheels and on wheels originally specced for a larger-hub platform), it needs a hub centric ring to land hub-centric on the Catera hub. The 65.1mm hub bore is tight enough that a universal-bore wheel almost always needs a ring on the Catera.
Compare across the rest of the Cadillac lineup at our Cadillac wheels and rims hub. The Catera is the only Cadillac sedan we catalog on the 5x110 / 65.1mm Opel spec. None of our other Cadillac fitments cross over to the Catera at the lug and hub level.
The Catera Wheel Window
The Element measured diameter window on the Catera runs 16 to 20 inch. Factory wheel diameters on the Catera range from 16 inch on the base trim to 17 inch on the Catera Sport. The 18, 19, and 20 inch sizes in the Element window are the aftermarket plus-size options. Width runs 6 to 8.5 inch on both axles. The catalog tags the Catera as non-staggered (FT=1), meaning a square setup all four corners is the correct approach. Brake clearance is standard front and rear (catalog brake size 1/1) on every Catera in the catalog.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Cadillac Catera
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Catera line:
- Catera (1997-2001, Opel Omega B platform): 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 6-8.5 inch front, 6-8.5 inch rear. Non-staggered (square setup). Five-lug, M12x1.5 thread pitch. Standard front and rear brake clearance.
For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Catera (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the Catera wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on Cadillac Catera Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the Catera. For the Catera that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on both axles, gap between the back of the wheel and the rear-drive suspension components, front brake caliper clearance to the wheel barrel, hub bore confirmation to the 65.1mm Opel hub spec, lug seat geometry across the M12x1.5 thread pitch, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed at full lock. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. That measurement work produces the published diameter and width windows above. Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 65.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
Cadillac Catera Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Cadillac Catera?
Every 1997-2001 Cadillac Catera runs 5x110 with a 65.1mm hub bore. Five lugs, M12x1.5 thread pitch. This is the Opel Omega B fitment hardware. The Catera is the only Cadillac sold in North America on this European 5x110 / 65.1mm spec. Confirm 5x110 before you order. A 5x114.3 or 5x115 wheel does not fit a Catera.
Why does the Catera use a different bolt pattern than other Cadillacs?
The Catera is a re-badged Opel Omega B, built in Russelsheim, Germany on GM Europe's Omega chassis. When Cadillac brought the car to North America for the 1997 model year, it kept the Opel running gear including the 5x110 / 65.1mm hub spec used across many European GM and Saab platforms of the same era. Every other modern Cadillac sedan we catalog is on a GM North American hub spec, not the Opel spec. The Catera is the one exception inside the Cadillac lineup.
Will DeVille or Seville wheels fit a Catera?
No. DeVille and Seville wheels are 5x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore. The Catera is 5x110 with a 65.1mm hub bore. The patterns look close on paper but the stud spacing is different at every lug position. Do not force a 5x115 wheel onto a Catera. The cumulative stud stress is not safe on a vehicle the size and weight of the Catera.
Will Opel Omega or Saab wheels fit a Catera?
Same-pattern fact: at the lug and hub level, yes on Opel Omega B wheels and on many same-era Saab wheels that share 5x110 / 65.1mm. The Catera shares Opel running gear, so a same-era Omega B wheel bolts to a Catera. Offset and width windows differ between platforms, and brake clearance is not necessarily the same, so confirm the wheel's offset against the Catera fitment window before crossing. The simpler path is to use our Year/Make/Model search and let it filter wheels to the Catera fitment directly.
Is the Cadillac Catera staggered from the factory?
No. The Catera is non-staggered from the factory and we recommend a square setup all four corners (catalog FT=1). The factory Catera Sport ran a 17 inch wheel, all four corners the same. Our measured width window is the same front and rear: 6 to 8.5 inch.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Cadillac Catera?
20 inch is the top of our measured window on the Catera. 18 inch is the most common aftermarket plus-size on the platform. 19 inch is also a clean fit. Going above 20 thins out tire selection on the 5x110 pattern sharply and is not recommended.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Cadillac Catera?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 65.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I find the right wheels for my specific Cadillac Catera?
Use our Year/Make/Model search and pick 1997-2001 Cadillac Catera. The Catera is the only Cadillac on the 5x110 / 65.1mm Opel hub spec, so the search results are already filtered to wheels that fit your car. Diameter window is 16 to 20 inch. Width window is 6 to 8.5 inch on both axles. Browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds with size and offset captions. Every wheel is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
