Cadillac CTS Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Cadillac CTS is the mid-size luxury sedan that anchored Cadillac's modern rear-drive era from 2003 through 2019 and the direct predecessor to the CT5. Element Wheels measures the CTS across three chassis platforms: the 1st gen Sigma Sedan (2003-2007), the 2nd gen Sigma Sedan and Coupe (2008-2014), and the 3rd gen Alpha Sedan including the Vsport trim (2014-2020). The bolt pattern is the trap here. The 1st gen ran 5x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore. Every CTS from 2008 forward moved to 5x120 with a 66.9mm hub bore. The two patterns sit only 5mm apart but they are not interchangeable. This page covers the standard CTS line; the performance CTS-V is a separate hub at /wheels/cadillac/cts-v with different Brembo brake hardware and a 1st gen CTS-V (2004-2007) running a 6-lug 6x115 pattern that does not appear anywhere else on the standard CTS line.

Find Your Cadillac CTS Generation

Pick your chassis to see wheels and rims that fit your specific CTS. The first thing to confirm is bolt pattern. The 2003-2007 1st gen Sedan is 5x115; everything from 2008 forward is 5x120. Within the 5x120 era, the 2nd gen Sigma Sedan, 2nd gen CTS Coupe, 3rd gen Alpha Sedan, and 3rd gen Vsport each carry their own measured offset window.

The Cadillac CTS Bolt Pattern Has Changed Once

The standard CTS has run two bolt patterns across three generations. The 1st gen Sedan (2003-2007), built on the Sigma platform, used 5x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore. Starting with the 2008 model year, when Cadillac refreshed the CTS on the updated Sigma platform, the entire line moved to 5x120 with a 66.9mm hub bore. Every 2nd gen Sedan, every 2nd gen Coupe, every 3rd gen Sedan, and every 3rd gen Vsport from 2008 through the end of production in 2019 uses 5x120 / 66.9mm.

5x115 and 5x120 are not interchangeable. They sit only 5mm apart, but the lug studs do not line up on a five-stud pattern at that spacing, and forcing a 5x115 wheel onto a 5x120 hub (or the reverse) will not seat. 5x115 also appears on some other GM platforms of the same era (the Impala, the Pontiac G6, the Buick Lucerne); 5x120 is shared with the 2009-and-newer CTS-V, the CT5, the CT5-V, and the modern GM rear-drive performance line. Lug count is identical at five, so confirm bolt pattern by the year, not by visual count. Wheels do not bolt across the 2007-to-2008 transition.

The CTS line was discontinued after the 2019 model year. Cadillac replaced the CTS with the CT5 for 2020 and forward, and the modern performance variant is the CT5-V (and the higher-output CT5-V Blackwing). The CT5 carries the same 5x120 / 66.9mm spec as the later CTS but the offset window and brake hardware are different. CT5 fitment lives at /wheels/cadillac/ct5. The performance CTS-V is on a separate hub with its own brake-driven fitment notes, including the 1st gen CTS-V (2004-2007) running a 6-lug 6x115 pattern that does not appear on any standard CTS. Compare across the rest of the Cadillac lineup at our Cadillac wheels and rims hub.

Why CTS Generation and Trim Determine Wheel Fit

Inside the 5x120 era, the CTS splits into four chassis we measure separately. The 2nd gen Sedan ran from 2008 to 2013 and was offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive; the RWD car accepts a mild stagger as an aftermarket option while the AWD car is a square fitment by default. The 2nd gen Coupe (2011-2014) is a wider-track derivative that runs different rear wheel widths and a reversed offset window on the rear axle. The 3rd gen Sedan moved onto the Alpha platform for 2014 and added a Vsport trim with the twin-turbo V6 and beefier hardware. The 3rd gen Sedan also accepts mild stagger as an aftermarket option; the 3rd gen Sedan AWD is square. The Vsport carries a noted tall rear axle stub that affects how the wheel seats on the rear hub.

How We Confirm Fitment on Cadillac CTS Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every standard CTS generation from the 2003 Sigma Sedan through the 2019 Alpha Sedan and Vsport. For the CTS that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height on the base, premium, and Vsport packages, hub bore confirmation on both 70.3mm (1st gen) and 66.9mm (2nd-3rd gen) hubs, lug seat geometry across the 5x115-to-5x120 transition, axle-stub height on the 3rd gen Vsport, and the wider-rear-track offset window on the 2nd gen Coupe. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

Cadillac CTS Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Cadillac CTS?

It depends on the generation. The 1st gen CTS Sedan (2003-2007), built on the Sigma platform, ran 5x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore. Every CTS from 2008 forward (2nd gen Sedan RWD/AWD, 2nd gen Coupe, 3rd gen Sedan RWD/AWD, 3rd gen Vsport) moved to 5x120 with a 66.9mm hub bore. The two patterns are 5mm apart and they do not interchange. Confirm bolt pattern by year, not by visual lug count (both are 5-lug).

Will my 1st gen CTS wheels fit a 2nd or 3rd gen?

No. The 1st gen runs 5x115 and the 2nd and 3rd gen run 5x120. The patterns are only 5mm apart but they do not bolt across; forcing a 5x115 wheel onto a 5x120 hub will not seat. From 2008 forward the 2nd gen Sedan, 2nd gen Coupe, 3rd gen Sedan, and 3rd gen Vsport all share 5x120 / 66.9mm so wheels bolt across in terms of stud pattern, but the offset window and brake clearance differ by chassis and we measure each separately.

Is the CTS the same as the CT5?

No, they are different cars. The CTS ran 2003-2019 across three generations. Cadillac replaced the CTS line with the CT5 for the 2020 model year, and the modern performance variant is the CT5-V (and the higher-output CT5-V Blackwing). The CT5 uses the same 5x120 / 66.9mm pattern as the later CTS but the chassis, offset window, and brake hardware are different. CT5 fitment lives at /wheels/cadillac/ct5.

Is the CTS the same as the CTS-V?

No. The CTS-V is the performance version of the CTS and it is a separate chassis with its own brake hardware. Every CTS-V ships with Brembo brakes (the standard CTS does not), and the 1st gen CTS-V (2004-2007) runs a 6-lug 6x115 bolt pattern that does not appear anywhere on the standard CTS line. The 2nd gen and 3rd gen CTS-V use 5x120 / 66.9mm like the standard 2008-and-newer CTS but with different offset windows and a taller front brake on the 3rd gen Sedan. CTS-V fitment lives at /wheels/cadillac/cts-v.

RWD vs AWD on a CTS: does it change the wheel I can buy?

Same bolt pattern (5x120 / 66.9mm on every 2008-and-newer CTS) and same wheel diameter window on both drivetrains. What changes is the stagger window. The 2nd gen Sedan RWD and 3rd gen Sedan RWD accept a mild front-to-rear width stagger as an aftermarket option. The 2nd gen Sedan AWD and 3rd gen Sedan AWD are square fitments by default; the front and rear wheel widths match. We tag each combination as its own catalog row so the wheels we recommend respect the AWD-square constraint when it applies.

What is special about the 3rd gen Vsport?

The 3rd gen CTS Vsport (2014-2019) is the twin-turbo V6 trim that sits between the standard CTS and the CTS-V. It shares the Alpha chassis and the 5x120 / 66.9mm bolt pattern with the rest of the 3rd gen Sedan line, but the Vsport carries a tall rear axle stub that we have measured and flagged in our catalog. The taller stub affects how the wheel seats on the rear hub, particularly with deep-dish or step-lip designs. The factory aftermarket diameter range is 19-20 inch and the same as the rest of the 3rd gen Sedan; we just track the Vsport row separately so the stub-height note ships with every fitment.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Cadillac CTS?

On the 1st gen Sedan, hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 70.3mm. On the 2nd gen Sedan, 2nd gen Coupe, 3rd gen Sedan, and 3rd gen Vsport, hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 66.9mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

How do I find the right wheels for my specific Cadillac CTS?

Confirm your generation first (1st gen 2003-2007, 2nd gen 2008-2013 / Coupe 2011-2014, 3rd gen 2014-2019), then your body style (Sedan or Coupe), drivetrain (RWD or AWD), and trim (standard or Vsport). The 2003-2007 1st gen Sedan is the 5x115 outlier; everything 2008 and newer is 5x120. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific CTS and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire captions. If your car is a 3rd gen Vsport or a 2nd gen Coupe, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
