The Chevrolet Colorado is GM's mid-size pickup and one of the most active lift-market platforms in our truck catalog. Element Wheels measures the Colorado across three generations: the 1st gen GMT355 (2004-2012), the 2nd gen GMT700 (2015-2022), and the 3rd gen on the GM Atlas platform (2023 and up). The Colorado has a one-year North American production gap between the 1st and 2nd gen; there is no 2013 or 2014 Colorado in our catalog because the truck was not sold here for those two years. The bolt pattern is the trap on this truck. The 1st gen ran 6x139.7. The 2nd gen moved to 6x120 (a narrower 6-lug pattern with a different hub bore). The 3rd gen went back to 6x139.7. A wheel that fits a 2017 Colorado will not bolt onto a 2024 Colorado even though both are 6-lug trucks. Stock-height, leveled, and lifted fitments are tracked as separate catalog rows on every generation, and the ZR2 off-road trim is measured separately on the 2nd and 3rd gen. The Chevrolet Colorado Bolt Pattern Has Changed Three Times

The Colorado has the most generation-to-generation bolt-pattern variation of any pickup we sell wheels for. The 1st gen GMT355 (2004-2012) ran 6x139.7 with a 100.3mm hub bore and a 12x1.5 lug thread. 6x139.7 is the imperial 6x5.5 pattern (139.7mm equals 5.5 inches), which is the same 6-lug pattern Chevrolet uses on the 1500 series trucks of that era and on the older S-10 and Trailblazer.

The 2nd gen GMT700 (2015-2022) moved to 6x120 with a 66.9mm hub bore and 14x1.5 thread pitch. 6x120 is the same 6-lug pattern used on the GMC Canyon (the Colorado's twin), the Chevy Trailblazer, and several modern GM crossovers. The 2nd gen also brought a smaller hub bore (66.9mm vs the 1st gen's 100.3mm). A wheel built for a 1st gen Colorado will not bolt onto a 2nd gen.

The 3rd gen Colorado (2023 and up) on the GM Atlas platform went back to 6x139.7. On the standard Base and Z71 trims, the 3rd gen hub bore is 66.9mm; on the ZR2 trim, the hub bore moves to 100.3mm. Thread pitch stays at 14x1.5 from the 2nd gen. The result: a 3rd gen Colorado bolts the same 6x139.7 pattern as the 1st gen but with a different hub bore on Base/Z71 trims, and a different thread pitch from the 1st gen. The most reliable check is by year. There is no 2013 or 2014 Colorado in North America, so if your truck is 2012 or older it is 1st gen 6x139.7. 2015-2022 is 2nd gen 6x120. 2023 and newer is 3rd gen 6x139.7. Why Colorado Stock vs ZR2 vs Lifted Fitment Matters

The Colorado has an active aftermarket lift market on every generation. Stock-height owners run 16 to 18 inch wheels for street and overland builds. Leveled Colorados running 32 inch tires get their own fitment row. 3 to 4 inch lifts on 33s and bigger setups each move into different aftermarket windows. The wheel that fits a stock-height Colorado can rub the inner fender or contact the front suspension once the truck is lifted.

The ZR2 is the Colorado's factory off-road trim and we measure it as a separate fitment on the 2nd gen and 3rd gen. On the 2nd gen ZR2 (2017-2022), the truck shares the 6x120 / 66.9mm spec with the rest of the 2nd gen line but ships with wider front and rear track widths, taller suspension, and 31 inch tires from the factory. On the 3rd gen ZR2 (2023 and up), the chassis carries a different hub bore than the standard 3rd gen (100.3mm instead of 66.9mm) and a narrower aftermarket wheel-width window because the wider stance is already baked into the truck. The standard 3rd gen Base and Z71 accept wider aftermarket wheels than the 3rd gen ZR2, which is the opposite of what most buyers assume.

For the Colorado that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the front suspension, brake caliper height, hub protrusion and bore confirmation across the 100.3mm (1st gen and 3rd gen ZR2) / 66.9mm (2nd gen and 3rd gen Base/Z71) hubs, lug seat geometry across both 12x1.5 and 14x1.5 thread pitches, turning clearance at full lock on the bigger tire sizes, and trimming requirements where they apply on lifted builds.
