The Chevrolet Impala is Chevy's full-size sedan, and the modern Impala lineup that Element Wheels measures fitment for runs from the 2000 through the 2020 model year. Chevrolet retired the Impala after the 2020 model year and the nameplate is discontinued. The bolt pattern on this car changed across generations. The 2000-2005 Impala (8th gen, W-body) and the 2006-2013 Impala (9th gen, W-body, including the SS) both run 5x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore. The 2014 Impala Limited (9th gen carryover sold to fleets) also runs 5x115. The 2014-2020 Impala LT, LTZ, LTS, and Premier (10th gen, Epsilon II platform) moved to 5x120 with a 66.9mm hub bore and a 14x1.5 thread (different from the 12x1.5 used on the earlier generations). The 2014 model year overlaps both patterns because Chevy sold the new 10th gen and the carryover 9th gen Limited side by side that year. The Chevrolet Impala Bolt Pattern

The modern Impala uses two different bolt patterns across its generations. The 2000-2005 8th gen, the 2006-2013 9th gen (including the SS), and the 2014 Impala Limited carryover all run 5x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore, 5 lug, and an M12x1.5 thread. The 2014-2020 10th gen Impala (LT, LTZ, LTS, Premier) on the Epsilon II platform moved to 5x120 with a 66.9mm hub bore, 5 lug, and an M14x1.5 thread. Same nameplate, two bolt patterns and two thread pitches. A 5x115 wheel that fit your 2010 Impala will not bolt to a 2017 Impala Premier. The Limited and the new 10th gen overlapped for one year, so 2014 specifically requires checking the badge trim to know which pattern your car runs.

The detail that trips buyers. 5x115 is NOT the same as 5x114.3. The two patterns sit roughly 0.7mm apart on the hub circle. They look identical at a glance but the studs do not align cleanly across both. The imperial nickname 5x4.5 refers ONLY to 5x114.3 (114.3mm = 4.5 inches), NOT to 5x115. The 5x115 pattern has no clean imperial equivalent. Anyone telling you the Impala is "5x4.5" is wrong on the 5x115 cars. Same goes for 5x120. That pattern is its own bolt math and does not cross to 5x115 or 5x114.3. The wheels do not cross between any two of these three patterns safely, even with a hammer and a tape measure as backup. Why Generation and Trim Change Impala Fitment

The Impala is one of the longer-running American sedan nameplates, and Chevrolet changed the platform underneath the name twice between 2000 and 2020. The 8th gen (2000-2005) and the 9th gen (2006-2013) shared the W-body platform and the same 5x115 / 70.3mm / 12x1.5 spec, so the wheel math on those two carries across. The 9th gen SS (2006-2009) added a larger front brake package compared to the base 9th gen and Chevy moved the SS aftermarket window to 18 inch minimum diameter. The 10th gen (2014-2020 LT/LTZ/LTS/Premier) is a different platform entirely (Epsilon II, shared with the same-era Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS), which is why it picked up the different bolt pattern, smaller hub bore, and the 14x1.5 thread. Element measures all of these separately.

Most modern Impala builds run square (non-staggered). The Impala is a front wheel drive sedan across every generation we cover here, so a wider rear wheel does not buy you traction the way it does on a rear drive car. The aftermarket window for both 5x115 and 5x120 Impalas reflects that. Front and rear width ranges in our catalog are the same on every trim. Front larger than rear brakes on the 9th gen SS is the normal configuration on a performance sedan, so the brake difference is expected and we have published a separate fitment window for it.
