The K-1500 carried a 6x139.7 bolt pattern with a 78.1mm hub bore and a 6-lug count, which is different from its 2WD twin, the C-1500. That C-vs-K split is the most common buyer mistake on these trucks, so confirming you have the 4WD platform is step one. The Chevrolet K-1500 Bolt Pattern

Every 1988-1998 Chevrolet K-1500 uses 6x139.7 with a 78.1mm hub bore. The imperial nickname for 6x139.7 is 6x5.5 (139.7mm converts cleanly to 5.5 inches). Lug count is 6, and the factory thread pitch is M14x1.5. The 6x139.7 pattern on the K-1500 is shared with the contemporary K-2500 6-lug (the light-duty 6-lug variant of the 3/4-ton K-2500), the Suburban K1500 4WD, and the Tahoe and Yukon on the same GMT400 platform. It is also the pattern carried forward into the modern Silverado 1500, which made 6x139.7 the standard on every Chevy half-ton from 1999 through today.

The most important thing to know about K-1500 fitment is what it is not. The K-1500 6-lug pattern does NOT cross to the C-1500, the 2WD twin on the same GMT400 platform. The C-1500 uses a 5x127 5-lug pattern. The K-1500 6-lug pattern also does not cross to the heavy-duty K-2500 8-lug or the 1-ton K-3500 8-lug HD trucks, which run 8x165 (8x6.5 imperial). Count the studs on one wheel first. 6 studs means you have a K-1500 (or K-2500 6-lug) and this fitment applies. 5 studs means C-1500. 8 studs means HD K-2500/K-3500. Stock, Leveled, and Lifted K-1500 Fitments

The K-1500 buyer base splits more cleanly than the C-1500. A 2WD half-ton attracts the lowered, street-truck, and restoration build crowd. A 4WD half-ton attracts owners who want to keep the truck functional for off-road, hunting, or work use, which means stock-height replacements, leveled builds with 33 inch tires, and lifted builds with 33 to 35 inch tires are the buying defaults. The 4WD knuckles take more fender clearance than the 2WD truck, so the K-1500 offset window starts at a less negative number than the C-1500 and runs higher into positive territory to keep the wheel inside the fender on stock-height 4WD trucks.

The reason the K-1500 window runs higher in positive offset than the C-1500 is the 4WD front knuckle geometry. On a stock-height 4WD truck, a -15mm offset wheel that works on the C-1500 would push the wheel out far enough to interfere with body clearance under steering lock. The K-1500 needs more positive offset to keep the wheel inside the fender with the 4WD running gear underneath. On a leveled or lifted K-1500 the window extends further into negative territory, but the bare hub measurements on this page are for stock-height trucks. If you're running a leveled or lifted truck, the negative-offset side of the window opens up as fender clearance increases.
