The Chevrolet Lumina Bolt Pattern

The 1991-2002 Lumina uses a 5x115 bolt pattern with a 70.3mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. 5x115 is GM's classic mid-size sedan and coupe bolt pattern from that era. The same 5x115 spec appears across many of the GM W-body and H-body cars of the 1990s: the Buick Regal, the Pontiac Grand Prix, the Oldsmobile Intrigue, and the Chevrolet Monte Carlo (the coupe variant of the W-body that replaced the Lumina coupe for 1995). The 70.3mm hub bore matches across those same W-body cars.

Important distinction: 5x115 and 5x114.3 are NOT the same bolt pattern, and the difference matters on the road. The two patterns sit roughly 0.7mm apart on the hub circle. That gap is small enough that the studs will start through a 5x114.3 lug hole on a 5x115 hub, but the seating will be off-center and the studs will be stressed unevenly. Over miles, that mismatch leads to wheel wobble and, in worse cases, lug failure. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname (114.3mm equals 4.5 inch) refers only to 5x114.3. The Lumina is 5x115 specifically. Why Lumina Fitment Is Stable Across Every Trim

The Lumina W-body kept the same hub geometry across both production generations and across every trim. Base sedan, Euro, LTZ, and Z34 trims of the same model year share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, lug thread, and brake package on the catalog. The Z34 ran the more powerful LQ1 3.4L DOHC V6 in the first-gen coupe (1991-1994) and the LQ1 sedan variant in the early second-gen (1996-1997), but Chevrolet did not pair that engine with a different hub or brake spec. A wheel that fits a base 1994 Lumina sedan also fits a 1994 Z34 coupe of the same model year. Worth noting that the Lumina coupe was replaced for 1995 by the Monte Carlo nameplate on the same W-body chassis, so 1991-1994 is the only year span where the Lumina was offered as both a sedan and a coupe.

The diameter window we comfortably measure on the W-body Lumina runs 15 inch on the low end up to 20 inch on the show-build end. Factory wheels were 15 to 16 inch across the production run. 17 to 18 inch is the most common Lumina aftermarket choice for everyday driving.
