Chevrolet S-10 Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Chevrolet S-10 is the classic compact pickup that ran from 1982 to 2004 before Chevrolet replaced it with the Colorado. Element Wheels measures fitment across the full 1982-2004 S-10 production run on both 2WD and 4WD chassis, with separate fitment rows for stock-height and lifted builds. The bolt pattern on the S-10 is consistent across the entire run. Every S-10 uses 5x120.7 (also written as 5x4.75) with a 70.3mm hub bore. The 2WD and 4WD chassis are different fitment platforms even though the bolt pattern matches. 2WD trucks sit lower and run a different offset window than 4WD trucks, and lifted builds shift the window again. The S-10 is an active aftermarket platform in restoration and pro-touring circles, and we measure the fitment that supports those builds.

Find Your Chevrolet S-10 Drivetrain

The S-10 splits by drivetrain, not by year. The bolt pattern is the same across every S-10 from 1982 to 2004. The fitment window is different between the 2WD and 4WD chassis because the ride height, the front suspension geometry, and the brake setup are different. Pick the chassis you have and the fitment specs follow.

The Chevrolet S-10 Bolt Pattern

Every 1982-2004 Chevrolet S-10 runs a 5x120.7 bolt pattern with a 70.3mm hub bore. 5x120.7 is the metric form of 5x4.75, which is GM's compact-truck and rear-drive small-car pattern from this era. The S-10, the S-10 Blazer SUV, and the GMC Sonoma all share the same 5x120.7 / 70.3mm hub. Sonoma owners can use any wheel listed on this page. The fitment is identical between the two trucks on the same drivetrain and year.

The fastest way to confirm what is under your S-10 is to count the lug studs on one wheel. Five studs in the 5x120.7 pattern is what you'll find on a stock S-10. If your truck has been swapped to a different rear axle (some pro-touring builds run a Ford 9 inch or a GM 12-bolt with a different bolt pattern), the bolt pattern can shift. When in doubt, our team can identify the right fitment if you tell us what axle is under your truck. Compare across the rest of the Chevrolet lineup at our Chevrolet wheels and rims hub.

Why S-10 Drivetrain and Ride Height Change the Fitment

The 2WD and 4WD S-10 are different fitment platforms even though they share the bolt pattern. The 2WD truck has a lower front ride height, a different front suspension geometry, and a tighter wheel well clearance against the inner fender. The 4WD truck has the front differential and transfer case tucked between the frame rails, a taller ride height, and a different offset window because the wheel sits further out from the hub face on most 4WD configurations. A wheel that fits a 2WD S-10 cleanly will often sit too deep on a 4WD S-10, and a wheel built for a 4WD will poke past the fender on a 2WD.

Lifted S-10s shift the fitment window again. Once a body lift or suspension lift is on the truck, the wheel can move outward without rubbing the fender, and the wider widths and bigger diameters that come with a lifted build all come into play. We measure stock and lifted fitments as separate catalog rows on every S-10 chassis. Tell our team your ride height and drivetrain at the start of the conversation and the fitment we recommend will match.

How We Confirm Fitment on Chevrolet S-10 Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the S-10 across the full 1982-2004 production run. For the S-10 that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on both 2WD and 4WD ride heights, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension or the 4WD front differential, hub bore confirmation on the axle, lug seat geometry on the 5-lug hub, turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed, and the additional clearance work that comes with a body lift or suspension lift on a lifted build. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Chevrolet S-10 Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Chevrolet S-10?

Every 1982-2004 Chevrolet S-10 runs 5x120.7 (also written as 5x4.75) with a 70.3mm hub bore and 12x1.5 lug thread. The bolt pattern is the same on 2WD and 4WD trucks and across the entire production run. Count five studs and a 4.75 inch / 120.7mm lug circle and you are on the S-10 pattern.

Will an S-10 wheel fit a Chevy Blazer or GMC Sonoma?

Yes on both. The S-10, the S-10 Blazer (the compact SUV built on the same frame), and the GMC Sonoma all share the 5x120.7 bolt pattern and the 70.3mm hub bore. They are the same chassis under different bodies, and the wheels we recommend on this page work on all three trucks on the same drivetrain. The 2WD-to-2WD and 4WD-to-4WD match still applies. A 2WD S-10 wheel will not necessarily fit a 4WD Blazer.

How is 2WD different from 4WD for wheel fitment?

The 2WD S-10 sits lower, has a different front suspension geometry, and runs a different offset window than the 4WD. Our measured 2WD window holds the diameter at 15 to 20 inch and the width at 6 to 8.5 inch on stock-height trucks. The 4WD chassis raises the ride height and tucks the front differential between the frame rails, which moves the offset window further out and opens up the width and diameter range. Our measured 4WD window goes up to 22 inch diameter and 9.5 inch width on stock-height trucks. Use the drivetrain finder above and the right fitment follows.

What happens if my S-10 is lifted?

A lift opens the fitment window in both directions. The wheel can move outward without rubbing the fender, and wider widths and bigger diameters come into play. Our measured lifted 4WD S-10 window goes up to 26 inch diameter and 16 inch width, which is the widest fitment box we publish on any S-10 configuration. Lifted 2WD S-10s run the same 15 to 20 inch diameter as stock but open up to 14 inch width. Tell our team your lift height and lift type (body, suspension, or both) and we can match the fitment.

What size wheels came on the S-10 from the factory?

The factory S-10 shipped on 14 inch steel wheels on the earliest trucks and stepped up to 15 inch wheels on most of the 1982-2004 run. Higher trims in the later years (ZR2 4WD, SS) shipped on 16 inch wheels in 8 inch width with a slightly more aggressive offset. Our measured aftermarket window starts at 15 inch diameter because the 14 inch wheel is rarely a target for an aftermarket build.

Are S-10 wheels staggered?

Factory S-10 wheels ran square (same width and offset front and rear). Pro-touring and street-truck S-10 builds often run staggered with a wider rear to get the deep-dish, fender-filling look, similar to the C-10 restoration aesthetic. The rear axle on a 2WD S-10 supports the staggered look better than the 4WD chassis. Square is the safer default. Staggered is a looks decision on a 2WD street build.

Do I need hub centric rings on an S-10?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 70.3mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

How do I find the right wheels for my specific Chevrolet S-10?

Confirm your drivetrain (2WD or 4WD) and ride height (stock or lifted), then use the Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific S-10 and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire captions. If your truck has been axle-swapped, lifted with custom suspension, or built for autocross, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
