The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Bolt Pattern

Every Silverado 1500 from 1999 forward uses the same 6x139.7 bolt pattern (also called 6x5.5). The pattern has stayed consistent across the GMT800, GMT900, K2XX, and current T1XX generations. Hub bore is 78.1mm on every modern Silverado 1500. The wheels cross between Silverado 1500 generations within reason, so long as offset, brake clearance, and lift status match.

The Silverado 1500 bolt pattern does NOT cross to the heavy duty Silverado 2500 and 3500. Those trucks use an 8 lug pattern (8x180 on 2011 and newer, 8x165 on older trucks). The Tahoe, Suburban, and Avalanche 1500 share the 6x139.7 light duty pattern. The older C-1500 and K-1500 trucks from the 1988 to 1998 era used 5x127, which is a different pattern again. If you are cross shopping a 1500 wheel against an older C/K series, confirm the lug count first.

Why Silverado 1500 Fitment Depth Matters

The Silverado 1500 looks like a simple platform on paper. One bolt pattern across every year. One hub bore. But the truck is one of the most modified platforms in the country, and once you add a level kit, a lift, or a larger tire, the wheel you need is no longer the wheel that fits stock. A wheel that clears the front suspension at stock height can rub the upper control arm after a 4 inch lift. A wheel that fits a 33 inch tire on a leveled truck can rub the fender on a 35 inch. The fitment is generation-stable, but the build is not.

The trim splits also matter. Work truck, LT, RST, LTZ, High Country, ZR2, and Trail Boss each carry different factory wheel sizes, different brake setups, and on the ZR2 and Trail Boss a wider track.
