The Chevrolet Silverado 3500 is Chevy's one-ton heavy-duty pickup and the workhorse end of the GM HD truck lineup. The 3500 splits into two configurations that share the same chassis but run different rear axles. Single-rear-wheel (SRW) 3500 trucks share running gear and the bolt pattern with the Silverado 2500 in our catalog: 8x165.1 on 1999-2010 trucks and 8x180 on 2011 and newer. The 3500 Dually (DRW) carries the same front-axle pattern but the rear axle is a different spec to accommodate four rear tires on a single axle: 8x165.1 / 116.7mm CB on 1999-2010 duallys and a wider 8x210 / 154.2mm CB on 2011 and newer duallys. The Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Bolt Pattern

On the single-rear-wheel Silverado 3500, the bolt pattern follows the same GM HD transition as the Silverado 2500. The 1999-2010 SRW 3500 (GMT800 and GMT900 platforms) ran 8x165.1 with a 116.7mm hub bore. The imperial nickname for that pattern is 8x6.5 (165.1mm = 6.5 inches). In 2011, GM moved the HD lineup to a new chassis (the GMT K2HD) with a wider 8x180 pattern and a 124.1mm hub bore. The 8x180 pattern has stayed on the SRW 3500 through the 2015-2019 refresh and the 2020-and-up current generation. Both eras carry 8 studs on the SRW trucks, so lug count alone will not distinguish the two; the year is the deciding factor. Pre-2011 = 8x165.1. 2011 and newer = 8x180. The wheels do not bolt across that transition.

The 3500 Dually has its own rear-axle geometry to accommodate four rear tires on a single axle. On 1999-2010 duallys, the rear axle stayed on 8x165.1 / 116.7mm CB (same as the SRW trucks of that era). From 2011 onward, the Dually rear axle moved to 8x210 / 154.2mm CB, a wider 8-lug pattern designed specifically for dual-tire geometry. The front axle on the 3500 Dually shares the SRW pattern of the same era: 8x165.1 on 1999-2010 duallys, 8x180 on 2011 and newer duallys. Rear-wheel widths on the 3500 Dually are narrower (6-9 inch range) because the dual-tire setup carries the load on two tires per side. Dually rear wheels do not fit anywhere else; the 8x210 rear-axle pattern is a Dually-only spec.

Why SRW, Dually, and Lift Status Each Have Their Own Fitment

The Silverado 3500 has an aftermarket buyer base that splits into roughly five groups. Stock-height SRW owners running 20 to 26 inch wheels on factory tire sizing for work or street use. Leveled SRW owners running a 2 to 3 inch front lift with 33-inch tires to even out the factory rake. Moderately lifted SRW owners running 4 to 5 inch lifts with 35-inch tires. Heavily lifted SRW owners running 6 to 8 inch lifts with 35 or 37 inch tires. And 3500 Dually owners, who run a separate rear-wheel geometry on every fitment because the dual-tire setup is its own specification.
