The Chevrolet Suburban Bolt Pattern

Every 1500 half-ton Suburban from 2000 forward runs 6x139.7 (also called 6x5.5) with a 78.1mm hub bore. The 1988-1999 GMT400 era split: the C1500 2WD half-ton ran a 5x127 (5x5) pattern with a 78.1mm hub bore, and the K1500 4WD half-ton ran 6x139.7 / 78.1mm. The 2500 3/4-ton Suburban runs 8x165.1 (8x6.5) with a 116.7mm hub bore on every generation. Count the lug studs first. 5 studs on a 1988-1999 truck means a C1500 2WD half-ton (5x127). 6 studs means either a K1500 4WD from that era or any 1500 Suburban from 2000 onward (6x139.7). 8 studs means a 2500 3/4-ton (8x165.1). The wheels do not bolt across those three patterns.

Why Suburban Stock, Lifted, and T1 Brake Fitment Differ

The Suburban has a wide aftermarket buyer base. Stock-height owners run 22 to 26 inch wheels for the street and luxury-SUV look. Lifted owners push diameter and width further on 33 to 37 inch tires. Element measures these cases separately on every generation. The wheel that fits a stock-height Suburban can rub a fender or contact a suspension component once the truck is lifted, and the wider lifted-fitment wheels often poke past the fender on a stock-height truck. The 1500 half-ton and the 2500 3/4-ton run completely different bolt patterns and brake packages, so they live as separate catalog rows.

Two Suburban-specific details on the current T1 platform. First, the 2021 and newer T1 platform Suburban came with significantly larger factory brakes than the K2 trucks before it. The factory wheel size and offset window changed to accommodate the bigger brake package, and our catalog flags this generation for fitment verification before sale. There is also rear axle shaft protrusion on these trucks that affects centerbore clearance on concave wheel designs. Second, beginning with the 2023 model year, Chevrolet started offering a Brembo brake variant on the Suburban; that trim is tracked as its own catalog row because the larger Brembo front caliper raises the minimum diameter and tightens the offset window further. If your 2023 or newer Suburban has the Brembo package, route to that catalog row. We measure both directly on the truck. This is the kind of detail generic spec calculators do not catch.
