The Uplander is one of the few platforms on the road where the bolt pattern depends on drivetrain. The 2005-2009 Chevrolet Uplander FWD uses a 5x115 bolt pattern with 5 lugs. The 2005-2009 Chevrolet Uplander AWD uses a 6x115 bolt pattern with 6 lugs. Both versions share the same 70.3mm hub bore and the same M12x1.5 lug thread, but the lug count itself is different. The simplest way to confirm which Uplander you have is to count the lug nuts on one wheel. 5 studs means FWD and 5x115. 6 studs means AWD and 6x115.

The 5x115 pattern on the FWD Uplander is the same pattern GM used on the Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, Equinox of the same era, and other GM passenger cars and crossovers from the mid-2000s. The 6x115 pattern on the AWD Uplander is much rarer. GM used 6x115 on the AWD versions of the U-body minivans and on a small number of related crossovers. 6x115 wheels are a smaller aftermarket pool than 5x115, so AWD Uplander buyers see a tighter wheel selection than FWD buyers do. Important distinction: 6x115 is NOT the same as 6x120 or 6x127. Confirm any wheel listing says 6x115 specifically for an AWD Uplander. Why Uplander Fitment Splits on Drivetrain

The Uplander rode on the GM U-body minivan platform across both production years and both drivetrains. The 2005-2009 Uplander LS, LT, and the upper LT trims of the same drivetrain share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, lug thread, and brake spec on the catalog. The drivetrain itself is the variable that changes the hub. GM moved to a heavier 6-lug hub on the AWD U-body minivans to carry the extra rear differential and driveshaft weight, and the FWD U-body minivans stayed on the lighter 5-lug hub. The 70.3mm centerbore is the same on both, which is a small efficiency in the GM parts catalog but does not mean a 5-lug wheel fits a 6-lug Uplander or vice versa. The lug count itself is the controlling fitment factor.

The Uplander is a same-platform twin to the Pontiac Montana SV6, Buick Terraza, and Saturn Relay built on the GM U-body chassis from 2005 through 2009.
