GMC Canyon Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The GMC Canyon is GM's mid-size pickup and the GMC-badged twin of the Chevrolet Colorado. Element Wheels measures the Canyon across three generations: the 1st gen GMT355 (2004-2012), the 2nd gen GMT700 (2015-2022), and the 3rd gen (2023 and up). The Canyon has a one-year North American production gap between the 1st and 2nd gen, with no 2013 or 2014 Canyon sold here because the truck was not built for those two model years. The bolt pattern is the trap on this truck and it oscillated across generations. The 1st gen ran 6x139.7. The 2nd gen moved to 6x120 (a narrower 6-lug pattern with a different hub bore). The 3rd gen went back to 6x139.7. A wheel that fits a 2017 Canyon will not bolt onto a 2024 Canyon even though both are 6-lug trucks. The GMC Canyon Bolt Pattern Has Changed Three Times

The Canyon has the most generation-to-generation bolt-pattern variation of any pickup we sell wheels for, alongside its Chevy Colorado same-chassis twin. The 1st gen GMT355 (2004-2012) ran 6x139.7 with a 12x1.5 lug thread. 6x139.7 is the imperial 6x5.5 pattern (139.7mm equals 5.5 inches), the same 6-lug pattern GM uses on the 1500 series trucks of that era. The 1st gen Canyon splits across two hub bore windows by year. The 2004-2008 trucks ran a 66.9mm hub bore. The 2009-2012 trucks moved to a 100.5mm hub bore. Same bolt pattern, different hub centering. We track those two windows as separate catalog rows.

The 2nd gen GMT700 (2015-2022) moved to 6x120 with a 66.9mm hub bore and 14x1.5 thread pitch. 6x120 is the same 6-lug pattern used on the Chevy Colorado (the Canyon's twin), the Chevy Trailblazer, and several modern GM crossovers. A wheel built for a 1st gen Canyon will not bolt onto a 2nd gen even though both trucks are 6-lug, because the stud spacing is different.

The 3rd gen Canyon (2023 and up) went back to 6x139.7. The 3rd gen hub bore is 78.1mm on every trim, Base through AT4X. Thread pitch stays at 14x1.5. The result: a 3rd gen Canyon bolts the same 6x139.7 pattern as the 1st gen but with a different hub bore on every comparison. The most reliable check is by year. There is no 2013 or 2014 Canyon in North America, so if your truck is 2012 or older it is 1st gen 6x139.7. 2015-2022 is 2nd gen 6x120. 2023 and newer is 3rd gen 6x139.7. Canyon vs Chevy Colorado, AT4X, and Lifted Fitment

The GMC Canyon and the Chevrolet Colorado are the same truck under different brands, on every generation from 2004 forward. The bolt pattern matches across the two trucks on the same model year. The 1st gen Canyon (2004-2012) is 6x139.7 like the 1st gen Colorado. The 2nd gen Canyon (2015-2022) is 6x120 like the 2nd gen Colorado. The 3rd gen Canyon (2023 and up) is 6x139.7 like the 3rd gen Colorado. The hub bore is where the two trucks can diverge. The 3rd gen Canyon runs a 78.1mm hub bore on every trim including AT4X. The 3rd gen Colorado runs a 66.9mm hub bore on Base and Z71 and a 100.3mm hub bore on the ZR2. Same bolt pattern across the same-year trucks. Different hub centering. A wheel listing built for a 3rd gen Colorado is not automatically the same listing as a 3rd gen Canyon. Confirm the listing was measured against the Canyon hub specifically.

The Canyon has an active aftermarket lift market on every generation. Stock-height owners run 16 to 18 inch wheels for street and overland builds. Leveled Canyons running 32 inch tires get their own fitment row. 3 to 4 inch lifts on 33s and bigger setups each move into different aftermarket windows. The wheel that fits a stock-height Canyon can rub the inner fender or contact the front suspension once the truck is lifted.

The AT4X is the Canyon's factory off-road trim on the 3rd gen, the GMC counterpart to the Chevy Colorado ZR2. The 3rd gen AT4X shares the 6x139.7 bolt pattern and 78.1mm hub bore with the rest of the 3rd gen Canyon line. The aftermarket wheel-width window on the AT4X is narrower than the standard 3rd gen Base because the wider factory stance and the longer suspension travel are already baked into the truck, which is the opposite of what most buyers assume.
