Honda CR-V Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Honda CR-V is the top-selling compact crossover in the United States and the highest volume aftermarket wheel platform in the compact SUV segment. Honda has kept the CR-V on the same wheel hub spec across all six generations. Every CR-V from 1997 forward runs 5x114.3 with a 64.1mm hub bore and M12x1.5 lug nuts. The imperial nickname for 5x114.3 is 5x4.5 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). The bolt pattern matches the rest of the modern Honda lineup (Civic 2004 and up, Accord, Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline) and the modern Acura platforms (RDX, MDX). What has changed across the six CR-V generations is body size and the aftermarket diameter window the chassis supports. The smaller 1st through 4th gen CR-Vs run in the 15 to 20 inch range. The 5th gen (2017-2022) and 6th gen (2023 and up) accept up to 22 inch. The hybrid powertrain available on the 5th and 6th gens does not change the wheel hub spec. Pick your generation below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific CR-V.
Find Your Honda CR-V Generation
Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific CR-V. Every CR-V from 1997 forward shares the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern and 64.1mm hub bore, so the wheels bolt to the same hub across generations. Body proportion, brake spec, and fender clearance change from generation to generation, which is why we measure each one separately.
The Honda CR-V Bolt Pattern
Every Honda CR-V from the 1st gen (1997-2001) through the current 6th gen (2023 and up) uses 5x114.3 with a 64.1mm hub bore and M12x1.5 lug nuts. Honda has held that spec across the entire CR-V lifespan, which is unusual for a platform that has been in production for nearly three decades. The imperial nickname for 5x114.3 is 5x4.5 because 114.3mm equals exactly 4.5 inches.
One detail that catches buyers: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as the 5x115 pattern used on some American sedans. The two patterns sit roughly 0.7mm apart and are not interchangeable. The imperial nickname 5x4.5 refers ONLY to 5x114.3. The Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, and Dodge Challenger use the 5x115 pattern, and those wheels will not fit your CR-V. Stick to 5x114.3 / 5x4.5 specifically.
The 5x114.3 / 64.1mm spec on the CR-V matches the rest of the modern Honda lineup: Civic from 2004 and up, Accord, Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline, and the Acura RDX and MDX. The wheels bolt to the same hub. Body proportion and brake clearance do not always cross between models, but the bolt pattern is consistent. Compare across the rest of the Honda lineup at our Honda wheels and rims hub.
Why Generation and Wheel Size Determine CR-V Fit
Bolt pattern and hub bore are constant across all six CR-V generations. What changes is body proportion, brake size, and the diameter window the chassis can run cleanly. The 1st gen CR-V (1997-2001) is a small body sized around a 15 or 16 inch wheel. Each generation since has grown longer, wider, and taller, and the aftermarket diameter window has grown with it. By the 5th gen (2017-2022) and 6th gen (2023 and up), the CR-V can run up to a 22 inch wheel without losing factory ride character at the lower end of the window. 18 inch is the most common 5th and 6th gen aftermarket choice. The CR-V is square (non-staggered) on every generation. The same wheel spec works front and rear on every trim. Square is also the right configuration for a FWD or AWD compact crossover with no rear-bias drivetrain.
The hybrid powertrain available on the 5th gen (2017-2022 hybrid trims) and across the 6th gen lineup does not change the wheel hub spec. Hybrid CR-Vs run the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern, the same 64.1mm hub bore, and the same M12x1.5 lug nuts as the gas-only CR-Vs of the same generation. Trim level (LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, Sport, Sport Touring on the 6th gen) does not change the hub spec either, though the higher trims often ship with a larger factory wheel.

How We Confirm Fitment on Honda CR-V Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on every platform we sell wheels for, including every CR-V generation back to the 1997 1st gen. For the CR-V that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation at 64.1mm, lug seat geometry for M12x1.5 nuts, turning clearance at full lock, and the body proportion change between generations. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
Honda CR-V Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Honda CR-V?
Every Honda CR-V from 1997 forward runs 5x114.3 with M12x1.5 lug nuts and a 64.1mm hub bore. Honda has held the same spec across all six CR-V generations. The imperial nickname for 5x114.3 is 5x4.5 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). The pattern is shared with the rest of the modern Honda lineup (Civic 2004 and up, Accord, Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline) and the Acura RDX and MDX.
Is 5x114.3 the same as 5x4.5 and 5x115?
5x114.3 and 5x4.5 are the same bolt pattern. 5x4.5 is the imperial nickname (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches), and the CR-V is 5x114.3 / 5x4.5. 5x115 is a different and separate pattern. The two sit roughly 0.7mm apart and are NOT interchangeable. Wheels designed for 5x115 (Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, Dodge Challenger) will not fit a CR-V. Stick to 5x114.3 / 5x4.5 specifically.
Will older CR-V wheels fit a newer CR-V?
Bolt pattern crosses on every CR-V from 1997 forward (5x114.3 / 64.1mm). What does not always cross is body proportion. A wheel sized for a 1st gen CR-V (1997-2001) will look undersized in the 5th or 6th gen fender opening. A modern 6th gen wheel may rub the smaller fender on a 1st or 2nd gen body. Bolt pattern says they cross. Verify the offset and diameter match your specific generation before committing.
Does the Honda CR-V Hybrid use different wheels than the gas CR-V?
No. The Hybrid uses the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern, the same 64.1mm hub bore, and the same M12x1.5 lug nuts as the gas-only CR-V of the same generation. Hybrid trims on the 5th gen (2020-2022 in the US) and across the 6th gen (2023 and up, Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid) all share the hub spec with the rest of the CR-V lineup. Whatever aftermarket wheel fits a gas 5th or 6th gen CR-V also fits the Hybrid of the same generation.
Will Civic or Accord wheels fit my CR-V?
Same 5x114.3 bolt pattern and same 64.1mm hub bore as the 2004-up Civic and the modern Accord. The wheels bolt to the same hub. What does not always cross is offset and fender clearance. The CR-V is a taller, heavier crossover with wider fenders than the Civic and Accord sedans. A Civic or Accord wheel sized for a sedan fender opening will sit deep on the CR-V and the offset will likely not work. Bolt pattern crosses. The fitment box says verify before you commit. The Civic Type R (5x120) is different and will not bolt onto the CR-V at all.
Are Honda CR-V wheels staggered?
No. Every CR-V generation runs square fitment from the factory and that is what we recommend in the aftermarket. The CR-V is a FWD or AWD compact crossover without a rear-biased drivetrain that would benefit from a wider rear wheel. The same wheel and tire size belongs on every corner. AWD also benefits from matching tire diameter front and rear for the AWD coupling to operate normally.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Honda CR-V?
On the 5th gen (2017-2022) and 6th gen (2023 and up) CR-V, our measured aftermarket window tops at 22 inch. 18 inch is the most common 5th and 6th gen aftermarket choice because the tire sidewall stays comfortable at that diameter. On the older 1st through 4th gen CR-Vs the window tops at 20 inch and most builds land at 17 or 18 inch. Above 22 inch on the 5th or 6th gen, the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops noticeably on what is meant to be a daily-driven family crossover.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Honda CR-V?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 64.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
