Hyundai Santa Fe Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Hyundai Santa Fe is one of the longest-running midsize crossover nameplates in the Hyundai lineup, in production since 2001 and currently on its 5th generation. Element Wheels measures fitment across five generations: 1st gen SM (2001-2006), 2nd gen CM (2007-2012), 3rd gen DM (2013-2018), 4th gen TM (2019-2023), and the current 5th gen MX5 (2024 and up). The 3rd gen DM era also included the Santa Fe Sport, a shorter 2-row variant sold alongside the standard 3-row Santa Fe; we track Sport fitment as its own line. The bolt pattern has stayed constant across the entire Santa Fe run. Every Santa Fe from 2001 forward runs 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore, the Hyundai-Kia midsize SUV standard. The Santa Fe also runs square (same width front and rear) in every factory configuration. Find your generation below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific Santa Fe.

Find Your Hyundai Santa Fe Generation

Pick your generation to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Santa Fe. The bolt pattern is 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore on every Santa Fe from launch through the current MX5. The fitment window changes by generation as the wheel diameter steps up from 16 inch (early SM) to 22 inch (TM and MX5 aftermarket ceiling).

The Hyundai Santa Fe Bolt Pattern

Every Hyundai Santa Fe from the 2001 launch through the current 5th gen MX5 (2024 and up) runs 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore. That is twenty-five years of unbroken bolt pattern on the Santa Fe. The 5x114.3 pattern is the Hyundai and Kia midsize SUV and crossover standard, used on the Tucson, Palisade, Kona, and most modern Hyundai sedans. The 67.1mm hub bore is also the Hyundai-Kia midsize hub spec, larger than the Toyota 60.1mm hub used on the Camry and the RAV4. 5x114.3 is one of the most common 5-lug patterns in the world, also written 5x4.5 in imperial because 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches. The 5x4.5 nickname refers ONLY to 5x114.3. A wheel listed for 5x115 (the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger LX pattern) will NOT bolt onto a Santa Fe, even though the two numbers read less than a millimeter apart.

The Santa Fe is also the Hyundai platform sibling of the Kia Sorento on the modern Hyundai-Kia midsize SUV chassis. The two cars share the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern and 67.1mm hub bore by design, so wheels bolt across between the two in pattern and hub. Offset window and brake clearance still need to match the Santa Fe specifically, which is why we measure the two SUVs separately. Compare across the rest of the Hyundai lineup at our Hyundai wheels and rims hub.

Santa Fe vs Santa Fe Sport, and Why It Runs Square

From 2013 through 2018, Hyundai sold the Santa Fe in two body styles on the same 3rd gen DM platform. The standard Santa Fe was the longer 3-row family crossover. The Santa Fe Sport was the shorter 2-row version sold for buyers who wanted a Santa Fe footprint without the third row. Both versions share the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern and 67.1mm hub bore, but the brake package and offset window on the Sport differ slightly from the standard Santa Fe of the same model year. If your car says Santa Fe Sport on the trunk badge, use the Sport fitment page. If your car says Santa Fe, use the standard fitment page. From the 2019 4th gen TM forward, Hyundai split the lineup: the 3-row crossover became the Palisade and the Santa Fe nameplate carried forward as a 2-row crossover only. There is no Santa Fe Sport from 2019 forward; if you have a 2019 or later Santa Fe, the standard Santa Fe fitment page is the right one.

The Santa Fe also runs square (same width front and rear) in every factory configuration we have measured, and the aftermarket sticks to square as well. The Santa Fe is a family SUV where tire rotation between front and rear is part of the maintenance routine, and a square setup keeps that simple. The brake package is matched front to rear across every Santa Fe generation, so there is no front-larger-than-rear constraint on the aftermarket wheel face.

How We Confirm Fitment on Hyundai Santa Fe Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every Santa Fe generation from the 2001 SM through the current MX5. For the Santa Fe that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper clearance, hub bore confirmation on the 67.1mm Hyundai-Kia hub, lug seat depth, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Hyundai Santa Fe Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Hyundai Santa Fe?

Every Hyundai Santa Fe from 2001 through the current 5th gen MX5 (2024 and up) uses 5x114.3 (also written 5x4.5) with a 67.1mm hub bore. This is the Hyundai and Kia midsize SUV standard, shared with the Kia Sorento, Hyundai Tucson, Hyundai Palisade, and most other Hyundai-Kia crossovers.

What is the hub bore on a Hyundai Santa Fe?

Every Santa Fe uses a 67.1mm hub bore. This is the Hyundai-Kia midsize hub spec, larger than the 60.1mm hub used on the Toyota Camry and RAV4 family. No hub centric rings needed when the aftermarket wheel matches 67.1mm directly.

What is the difference between Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport?

From 2013 through 2018 (3rd gen DM era), Hyundai sold two body styles on the same platform. The standard Santa Fe was the longer 3-row crossover. The Santa Fe Sport was the shorter 2-row version. Both ran the same 5x114.3 / 67.1mm bolt pattern, but offset window and brake clearance differ enough that we measure them as separate fitment lines. From 2019 forward, the 3-row buyer moved to the Palisade and the Santa Fe nameplate continued as a 2-row only crossover. There is no Santa Fe Sport on the 4th gen TM or 5th gen MX5.

Are Hyundai Santa Fe wheels staggered?

No. The Santa Fe runs square (same width front and rear) in every factory configuration we have measured. The aftermarket sticks to square as well, since the Santa Fe is a family SUV where tire rotation between front and rear is part of the maintenance routine. A square setup keeps tire rotation simple.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Hyundai Santa Fe?

Our measured aftermarket window on the Santa Fe tops at 22 inch diameter across every generation from 2001 forward. Most aftermarket Santa Fe upgrades land at 18 or 20 inch, with the 22 inch builds reserved for buyers who want maximum visual impact and accept the trade-off in ride quality on a family crossover. Above 22 inch, the tire sidewall thins enough that the ride suffers significantly and wheel arch clearance under suspension travel disappears.

Do Kia Sorento wheels fit a Hyundai Santa Fe?

The Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento are corporate platform siblings on the Hyundai-Kia midsize SUV chassis. They use the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern and 67.1mm hub bore. Bolt-on compatibility is direct. Offset window and brake clearance differ slightly between the two SUVs, so we measure each platform separately and the Year/Make/Model search returns only wheels fit-tested on your specific car.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Hyundai Santa Fe?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 67.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

How do I find wheels for my specific Hyundai Santa Fe?

Confirm your generation first. 1st gen SM is 2001-2006, 2nd gen CM is 2007-2012, 3rd gen DM is 2013-2018 (standard or Sport), 4th gen TM is 2019-2023, and 5th gen MX5 is 2024 and up. If you have a 2013-2018 Santa Fe, check the trunk badge to confirm standard vs Sport. Then use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Santa Fe year and trim and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
