Hyundai Veloster Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Hyundai Veloster is the 3-door asymmetric compact hatch Hyundai sold in North America from 2012 through 2022. The Veloster has the unusual passenger-side rear door layout that defines the car visually: two doors on the driver side, one door on the passenger side. The Veloster came in two generations with a one-year production gap. The 1st gen (2012-2017) launched the platform. There was no 2018 Veloster. The 2nd gen (2019-2022) returned with a refreshed body, the same asymmetric 3-door layout, and the introduction of the Veloster N performance variant. Hyundai discontinued the Veloster after the 2022 model year in North America, so the lineup is now a closed historical range. Every Veloster uses 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore and M12x1.5 lug nuts. The Veloster N is the only variant that ships with a larger front Brembo brake package, which slightly tightens the aftermarket inner-barrel clearance. Pick your generation and trim below for the fitment specs.
Find Your Hyundai Veloster Generation
Pick your generation to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Veloster. Both generations share the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern and 67.1mm hub bore. The 2nd gen Veloster N is the carve-out: the front Brembo brake package on the N variant requires more inner-barrel clearance than the base 2nd gen Veloster, so we measure it as a separate fitment row. Note the one-year gap: Hyundai did not produce a 2018 Veloster.
The Hyundai Veloster Bolt Pattern
Every Veloster, 1st gen and 2nd gen including the Veloster N, runs 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore and M12x1.5 lug nuts. Hyundai held the same hub spec across the entire Veloster lifespan. The imperial nickname for 5x114.3 is 5x4.5 because 114.3mm equals exactly 4.5 inches.
One detail that catches buyers: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as the 5x115 pattern used on some American sedans. The two patterns sit roughly 0.7mm apart and are not interchangeable. The imperial nickname 5x4.5 refers ONLY to 5x114.3. The Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, and Dodge Challenger use the 5x115 pattern, and those wheels will not fit your Veloster. Stick to 5x114.3 / 5x4.5 specifically.
The 5x114.3 / 67.1mm spec on the Veloster matches the rest of the modern Hyundai Motor Group passenger lineup (Elantra, Sonata, Kona) and the modern Kia compact and mid-size sedans (Forte, K5). The wheels bolt to the same hub. Body proportion and brake clearance do not always cross between models, but the bolt pattern is consistent. Compare across the rest of the Hyundai lineup at our Hyundai wheels and rims hub.
Why the Veloster N Runs Tighter Fitment Than a Base Veloster
The Veloster N (2019-2022) is the high-performance variant Hyundai launched alongside the regular 2nd gen Veloster. The N carries the most aggressive Veloster powertrain (turbocharged 2.0L) and front Brembo brakes that are physically larger than the brakes on the base 2.0L and turbo 1.6T Velosters. The bolt pattern and hub bore stay the same across the lineup at 5x114.3 / 67.1mm. What changes on the N is the inner-barrel clearance the wheel needs to clear the front Brembo caliper. Front-larger-than-rear is the normal configuration on a performance car of the N caliber. The front axle does the majority of the braking work and Hyundai scaled the front caliper accordingly. We measure the Veloster N as a separate fitment row in our catalog because of the brake clearance change. Square (non-staggered) fitment is the factory and recommended configuration on every Veloster, including the N.
Trim level on the base Veloster (2.0L, Turbo, Turbo R-Spec, Turbo Ultimate) does not change the wheel hub spec or the brake size enough to require a separate fitment row. The Veloster N is the only variant where the brake package materially changes the aftermarket wheel inner-barrel requirement.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Hyundai Veloster
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Veloster lineup:
- 1st Gen Veloster All Models (2012-2017): 5x114.3 (5x4.5) bolt pattern, 67.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug nuts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 17 to 20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7 to 9 inch. Square fitment.
- 2nd Gen Veloster, base 2.0L and Turbo (2019-2021): 5x114.3 (5x4.5) bolt pattern, 67.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug nuts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 17 to 20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7 to 8.5 inch. Square fitment.
- Veloster N (2019-2022): 5x114.3 (5x4.5) bolt pattern, 67.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug nuts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18 to 20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7 to 8.5 inch. Square fitment. Front Brembo brake, larger than rear. Separate fitment row in our catalog because of front brake clearance.
Offset windows are controlled by the Veloster fender opening and brake clearance for each variant. For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Veloster (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the Veloster wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
How We Confirm Fitment on Hyundai Veloster Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on every platform we sell wheels for, including both Veloster generations and the Veloster N. That means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height (the Veloster N front Brembo is materially larger than the base trims), hub bore confirmation at 67.1mm, lug seat geometry for M12x1.5 nuts, turning clearance at full lock, and the asymmetric body proportion that defines the Veloster 3-door layout. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
Hyundai Veloster Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Hyundai Veloster?
Every Veloster, 1st gen (2012-2017) and 2nd gen (2019-2022) including the Veloster N, runs 5x114.3 with M12x1.5 lug nuts and a 67.1mm hub bore. The imperial nickname for 5x114.3 is 5x4.5 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). The pattern is shared with the rest of the modern Hyundai Motor Group passenger lineup (Elantra, Sonata, Kona) and the modern Kia compact and mid-size sedans (Forte, K5).
Is 5x114.3 the same as 5x4.5 and 5x115?
5x114.3 and 5x4.5 are the same bolt pattern (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches), and the Veloster is 5x114.3 / 5x4.5. 5x115 is a different and separate pattern. The two sit roughly 0.7mm apart and are NOT interchangeable. Wheels designed for 5x115 (Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, Dodge Challenger) will not fit a Veloster. Stick to 5x114.3 / 5x4.5 specifically.
Why is there no 2018 Hyundai Veloster?
Hyundai did not produce a 2018 Veloster in North America. The 1st gen Veloster ended after the 2017 model year, and the 2nd gen launched for 2019. The one-year production gap is the divider between the two generations. The bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec did not change across the gap. If you own a Veloster and the model year is 2017 or older, you are on the 1st gen. If the model year is 2019 or newer, you are on the 2nd gen.
Veloster N: does the Brembo brake change the wheel I can buy?
Bolt pattern and hub bore are the same on the Veloster N and the base Veloster: 5x114.3 / 67.1mm. What changes is the front brake. The Veloster N ships with front Brembo calipers that are physically larger than the brakes on the base 2.0L and turbo 1.6T trims. The Brembo takes more inner-barrel clearance, so the wheel face has to sit a little further out on the N. Front-larger-than-rear is the normal configuration on a performance car of the N caliber. We measure the Veloster N as a separate fitment row in our catalog, and the Year/Make/Model search for a Veloster N returns wheels confirmed to clear the front Brembo.
Will 1st gen Veloster wheels fit a 2nd gen Veloster?
Bolt pattern crosses (every Veloster is 5x114.3 / 67.1mm) so the wheels bolt to the same hub. What does not always cross is offset and brake clearance, especially if you are coming off a 1st gen wheel and trying to fit it on a 2nd gen Veloster N. The N front Brembo is the limiter. A 1st gen wheel that cleared a base Veloster brake may not clear the N caliper. Bolt pattern says they cross. Verify the offset before committing, and if you are on a Veloster N, double-check the inner-barrel clearance.
Are Hyundai Veloster wheels staggered?
No. Every Veloster, including the Veloster N, runs square fitment from the factory and that is what we recommend in the aftermarket. The Veloster is a FWD platform, so the front axle carries the power and the rear is along for the ride. The same wheel spec belongs front and rear on every Veloster trim.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Hyundai Veloster?
20 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on every Veloster, both generations and the Veloster N. 18 inch is the most common Veloster N aftermarket choice because the Brembo brake is fully cleared and the tire sidewall stays in a comfortable range. Most base Veloster aftermarket builds land at 17 or 18 inch. Above 20 inch, the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops on what is meant to be a daily-driven compact hatch.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Hyundai Veloster?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 67.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
Get Hyundai Veloster Wheels Right the First Time
Pick your generation above to see wheels and rims that fit. We measure on the Veloster across both generations and the Veloster N variant, confirm the 5x114.3 / 67.1mm hub spec separate from the easy-to-confuse 5x115 pattern on American sedans, and track the front Brembo brake clearance on the N as a separate fitment row. Find your fit and start enjoying your build sooner.
