The Infiniti FX35, FX45, and FX50 are the three trims Infiniti sold on its midsize luxury crossover from 2003 through 2013 across two generations, both on the FM platform shared with the Infiniti G35/G37 sedan and coupe and the Nissan 350Z/370Z. The 1st generation S50 (2003-2008) was offered as the FX35 (3.5L V6) and the FX45 (4.5L V8). The 2nd generation S51 (2009-2013) was offered as the FX35 (V6) and the FX50 (5.0L V8 sport trim) with a larger front brake package. Infiniti renamed the FX to QX70 for the 2014 model year under the Q-and-QX naming convention change. Element Wheels measures fitment on both FX generations. The FX Bolt Pattern and the FX-to-QX70 Rename

Every Infiniti FX35, FX45, and FX50 runs the 5x114.3 bolt pattern, also called 5x4.5 imperial (114.3mm = 4.5 inches exactly), with a 66.1mm factory hub bore and 12x1.25 lug thread. The pattern is consistent across both generations and every trim. The FX sits on the Nissan FM platform, the same architecture used under the Infiniti G35/G37 sedan and coupe and the Nissan 350Z/370Z. Wheels do not directly cross between an FX crossover and a 350Z coupe because the suspension geometry, fender clearance, and ride height are completely different even though the bolt pattern matches. We measure each platform on its own chassis.

A cross-pattern caution that applies to every 5x114.3 platform: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as the 5x115 pattern used on Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, and similar American sedans. The two patterns sit roughly 0.7mm apart and are not interchangeable, even though the difference sounds tiny. The imperial nickname 5x4.5 refers only to 5x114.3 (because 114.3mm = 4.5 inches exactly). Calling 5x115 "5x4.5" is wrong and forcing a 5x115 wheel onto a 5x114.3 hub puts the stud loading off-center, which is a safety issue. Stick to wheels listed for 5x114.3 specifically.

Infiniti renamed the FX to QX70 for the 2014 model year under the Q-and-QX naming convention change. The 2014 QX70 is the carried-forward 2nd generation S51 FX35 chassis under the new badge, not a new vehicle. Specs and chassis stayed the same at the rename. The QX70 ran from 2014 through 2018 and was discontinued without a direct replacement. Why the FX50 Brake Package Changes the Fitment Window

The 1st gen S50 (2003-2008) was sold as the FX35 with the 3.5L V6 and the FX45 with the 4.5L V8. Both 1st gen trims share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, brake setup, and measured fitment window. There is no brake-clearance split inside the 2003-2008 1st generation. The 2nd gen S51 (2009-2013) is different: the FX35 carries the standard brake package and the FX50 carries a larger sport brake on the front axle. That is normal on a performance-trim variant. The front axle does the majority of the braking work, so Infiniti scales the front caliper accordingly on the V8 sport trim. The larger front caliper takes more inner clearance behind the front wheel face than the base FX35, so the diameter window shifts on the FX50.

FX fitment is non-staggered. The FX runs square (same wheel and tire dimensions front and rear) across every trim and both generations, because it is an AWD luxury crossover. A wider rear on an AWD FX puts uneven rolling diameter into the AWD system and damages the drivetrain over time. The aftermarket pattern is large diameter with a square setup, typically 20, 22, or 24 inch.

How We Confirm Fitment on Infiniti FX35, FX45, and FX50 Wheels

For the FX that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper clearance (base on the FX35 and FX45, larger sport brake on the FX50), hub bore confirmation on the 66.1mm spec, lug stud thread on the 12x1.25 spec, and turning clearance at full lock.
