The lineup runs from the base S-Type through the top-spec supercharged S-Type R, introduced for the 2003 model year. The Jaguar S-Type Bolt Pattern

Every Jaguar S-Type we measure uses a 5x108 bolt pattern (also called 5x4.25 inch, because 108mm equals 4.25 inch) with a 63.4mm hub bore. That covers the entire production run from 2000 through 2008 across both the base S-Type and the supercharged S-Type R. Lug count is five and the thread pitch is M12x1.5 lug nuts. The 5x108 pattern is the standard Jaguar and Land Rover spec of this era and is shared with the Jaguar XE, XF, XJ (2004 and up), XK, F-Type, F-Pace, E-Pace, and the Range Rover Evoque, Velar, and Discovery Sport. The 63.4mm hub bore is also Jaguar specific. A wheel built for a Jaguar XF or an XK at 5x108 / 63.4mm has the right bolt math to mount on an S-Type, but the offset window and brake clearance window are different car by car. We measure S-Type fitments separately even when the pattern matches another Jaguar.

The S-Type was built on the DEW98 platform, the same chassis architecture as the 2000-2006 Lincoln LS (and the Ford Thunderbird convertible of the same era). The DEW98 cars share the underlying suspension geometry AND the 5x108 / 63.4mm wheel hardware. Bolt math crosses between the LS and the S-Type. What does not automatically cross is the offset window and the brake clearance, which Jaguar specified independently for the S-Type and which the S-Type R supercharged trim tightens further with the bigger Brembo front. If you've measured your LS wheels and have the dimensions on hand, the bolt circle and hub bore will mount on an S-Type. Confirm offset and brake clearance against an S-Type listing before ordering.

How the S-Type R Brakes Change the Fitment Window

Every S-Type in our catalog runs square fitment. Same width front and rear, same offset front and rear. There is no factory-supported staggered configuration on the S-Type, including on the supercharged S-Type R. The S-Type R is rear-wheel drive (the entire S-Type lineup is RWD), and the platform was engineered around a square wheel and tire package. The aftermarket width window is 7 to 9 inch on every S-Type trim, with diameters ranging from 16 to 20 inch on the base car and 18 to 20 inch on the supercharged R.

What separates the S-Type R from the base car is the brake package. The supercharged R comes from the factory with a bigger Brembo front caliper and a taller front rotor than the base S-Type. In our brake-size scale the R's front caliper is two steps larger than the base car's front, which is normal on a supercharged performance sedan because the front axle handles the majority of the braking load. The taller front caliper face takes more room behind the front wheel face, so the front diameter floor steps up from 16 inch on the base car to 18 inch on the R. Wheels with deeply concave back surfaces need verification against the Brembo caliper on the R. The rear brake on the S-Type R is the same size as the base car's rear, so the rear axle has the same fitment window as the base S-Type.
