Jeep Commander Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Jeep Commander XK is Chrysler's three row body on frame SUV, produced from 2006 through 2010 as the larger seven seat sibling of the WK1 Grand Cherokee. One generation, one chassis, and one wheel fitment box across every Commander year and every trim. 5x127 bolt pattern, 71.5mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug nuts, and 5 lugs. Square fitment (same width front and rear). Drivetrain (rear wheel drive or four wheel drive) does not change the bolt math. Trim (Sport, Limited, Overland, Rocky Mountain) does not change the bolt math. The Commander is one of the simpler hubs to shop in the Jeep lineup once you have the right bolt pattern locked in.
A note on the name. This page is for the 2006-2010 Jeep Commander XK sold in North America. It is not for the unrelated 2022 and up Jeep Commander sold in India, Brazil, and other markets outside North America. The newer global Commander is a different vehicle on a different platform and is not sold in the United States.
Find Your Jeep Commander Generation
Only one Commander generation was sold in North America. The XK ran from 2006 through 2010 across Sport, Limited, Overland, and Rocky Mountain trims. Pick the year range below to see wheels and rims that fit.
The Jeep Commander Bolt Pattern
Every Jeep Commander uses 5x127 with a 71.5mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug nuts. The 5x127 imperial nickname is 5x5 (127mm equals 5 inches). Same pattern, two naming conventions. The Commander shares this 5x127 / 71.5mm hub family with the WK1 Grand Cherokee (2005-2010), which is its direct platform sibling out of the same Detroit assembly plant. Bolt math crosses cleanly between Commander and WK1 Grand Cherokee. The same 5x127 / 71.5mm pattern continues forward into the WK2 Grand Cherokee (2011 and up) and the Grand Cherokee L, so Commander owners shopping the larger Jeep lineup have a wide selection of wheels built for the same bolt circle.
Important safety note: 5x127 is distinct from 5x114.3 and from 5x120. The Liberty (5x114.3) and the Wrangler JK (5x127, but on a different hub bore) and the older Cherokee XJ (5x114.3) all sit in the same five lug Jeep family, but the bolt circles are different enough that wheels built for one will not safely transfer to the other. A wheel built for a Jeep Liberty will not bolt onto a Commander. Compare across the rest of the Jeep lineup at our Jeep wheels and rims hub.
The Commander XK and the WK1 Grand Cherokee Connection
The Commander XK is built on the same chassis as the 2005-2010 Grand Cherokee WK1. Both come out of the same Detroit assembly plant. Same wheelbase, same suspension geometry, same hub face, same 5x127 / 71.5mm bolt pattern, same brake assembly options on equivalent trims. The Commander gets the boxier three row body with the squared off greenhouse and the rear quarter windows that distinguish it from the Grand Cherokee. The fitment math is the same.
Stock wheels on the Commander were 17 inch on Sport, 18 inch on Limited and Rocky Mountain, and 18 inch on Overland. Aftermarket diameter window on the Commander runs 16 to 22 inch with widths from 7 to 9.5 inch front and rear, square fitment. The XK ended production in 2010 when the WK2 Grand Cherokee launched and Chrysler discontinued the Commander nameplate in North America. The platform itself continued under the Grand Cherokee.

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Commander:
- Commander XK (2006-2010, Sport / Limited / Overland / Rocky Mountain): 5x127 bolt pattern, 71.5mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug nuts, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16-22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7-9.5 inch front and rear. Square fitment.
For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Commander (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the Commander wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on Jeep Commander Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the Commander directly, across rear wheel drive and four wheel drive configurations and across all four trims. That means hub bore confirmation at 71.5mm, clearance from the wheel to the fender at ride height and at full droop, gap behind the wheel to the suspension at full lock, brake caliper height across the standard and Hemi V8 brake packages, and lug thread confirmation at M14x1.5. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. The Commander shares its hub and brake assembly with the WK1 Grand Cherokee, so we cross check candidate wheels against both platforms before we clear a Commander fit. We don't pull these from manufacturer spec sheets the way most retailers do.
Jeep Commander Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Jeep Commander?
Every Jeep Commander uses 5x127 with a 71.5mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug nuts. The 5x127 pattern is also written as 5x5 (127mm equals 5 inches). Both naming conventions refer to the same physical bolt circle. The pattern is consistent across every Commander year (2006-2010) and every trim.
What is the hub bore on a Jeep Commander?
The Commander uses a 71.5mm factory hub bore across every year and trim. The Commander is square fitment (same width front and rear). If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
Are Grand Cherokee WK1 wheels the same as Commander wheels?
Yes. The Commander XK and the 2005-2010 Grand Cherokee WK1 are platform siblings out of the same Detroit assembly plant. Both run 5x127 with a 71.5mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug threads. Bolt math crosses cleanly between them. Body styling and fender geometry differ (the Commander has the boxier three row body with the squared off greenhouse), so offset and width still need to be confirmed against the destination chassis. See our Jeep Grand Cherokee hub for the sibling's fitment leaf.
Do 2WD and 4WD Commander models use the same wheels?
Yes. Rear wheel drive and four wheel drive Commander models share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, diameter range, width range, and offset window. The drivetrain difference does not change the fitment box on the XK chassis.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Jeep Commander?
22 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket diameter window on the Commander. Most Commander street builds land at 18 to 20 inch. Going larger than 22 inch requires changes to suspension or fender clearance and is outside our measured fitment box.
Is this the same Jeep Commander sold today in other countries?
No. This page covers the 2006-2010 Jeep Commander XK sold in North America. It is unrelated to the 2022 and up Jeep Commander sold in India, Brazil, and other markets outside North America, which is a different vehicle built on a different platform. If you are shopping for wheels for the global Commander, the fitment specs on this page do not apply.
Do trim levels change the wheel fitment on a Commander?
No. Sport, Limited, Overland, and Rocky Mountain Commanders all share the same 5x127 / 71.5mm bolt pattern, the same M14x1.5 lug, and the same aftermarket diameter and width range. Factory wheel size differs by trim (17 inch on Sport, 18 inch on Limited / Overland / Rocky Mountain) but the bolt math is identical.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Jeep Commander?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the Commander's 71.5mm factory hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
