The Jeep Compass name covers two distinct chassis with two different bolt patterns. The first generation Compass (MK, 2007-2017) is a compact crossover on the Dodge Caliber MK platform with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern and a 67.1mm hub bore. The second generation Compass (MP, 2017 and up) is the all new modern crossover on the Fiat derived Small Wide 4x4 platform with a 5x110 bolt pattern and a 65.1mm hub bore. The two generations do not share wheels. They share a name and a class of vehicle, but the bolt math is different and the wheels do not cross between them. If you are not sure which Compass you have: the MK is the boxier first generation Compass with the squared off body that ended in 2017. The Jeep Compass Bolt Pattern

The Compass MK (2007-2017) uses 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore and M12x1.5 lug nuts. The 5x114.3 imperial nickname is 5x4.5 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). Same pattern, two naming conventions. The MK shares this 5x114.3 / 67.1mm hub family with the Jeep Patriot (2007-2017, its platform sibling) and the Dodge Caliber (the donor car the MK Compass was built on top of). The MK ended production in 2017, although our catalog sees both the early MK (2007-2010) and the late MK (2011-2017) sub windows because the aftermarket width range narrowed slightly in the late MK from 7-9.5 inch to 7-9 inch.

The Compass MP (2017 and up) uses 5x110 with a 65.1mm hub bore. Lug spec is M12x1.5 on most US trims, M12x1.25 on certain Trailhawk and later configurations. The 5x110 pattern is the Fiat derived Small Wide 4x4 platform spec. It is shared with the Jeep Renegade and the Jeep Cherokee KL of the same era, plus a number of Fiat and Alfa Romeo vehicles. 5x110 is not the same pattern as 5x114.3 used on the MK. The two are about 4mm apart on the bolt circle and the studs do not line up cleanly. A wheel built for an MK Compass will not bolt safely to an MP Compass.

Important safety note: 5x114.3 is also distinct from 5x115. The two patterns are separated by 0.7mm and a wheel from a 5x115 Dodge Charger or Challenger will not bolt safely to an MK Compass either. Compare across the rest of the Jeep lineup at our Jeep wheels and rims hub.

MK vs MP Compass, and the MP Caliper Bracket

The Compass MK (2007-2017) is the first generation. It is built on the Dodge Caliber MK platform alongside the Jeep Patriot, which means three vehicles (Caliber, Patriot, Compass MK) share the same chassis, the same 5x114.3 / 67.1mm hub bore, and most of the same fitment math. The MK Compass was sold across Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Latitude X trims. Stock wheels were 17 inch on most trims with 18 inch on Limited. Aftermarket diameter window on the MK runs 17 to 22 inch with widths from 7 to 9.5 inch (early MK) or 7 to 9 inch (late MK).

The Compass MP (2017 and up) is the second generation built fresh on the Fiat derived Small Wide 4x4 platform. It is sold across Sport, Latitude, Limited, Altitude, Trailhawk, and 80th Anniversary trims. Stock wheels are 17 inch on Sport and Latitude, 18 inch on Limited, and 17 inch all terrain on the Trailhawk off road package. The MP runs a 5x110 / 65.1mm bolt pattern that has no relationship to the MK's 5x114.3 / 67.1mm. The MP also runs a tighter aftermarket diameter window (17 to 20 inch) and a narrower width range (7.5 to 8.5 inch). Caliper bracket clearance on the MP sits close to the hub on certain wheels, so the practical fitment box is tighter than the bolt pattern alone suggests. We measure each candidate wheel against the MP brake bracket before clearing it as a fit.

How We Confirm Fitment on Jeep Compass Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the Compass directly, across the MK and the MP generations and across two wheel drive and four wheel drive configurations. For the MK that means hub bore confirmation at 67.1mm, clearance from the wheel to the fender at ride height and at full droop, gap behind the wheel to the suspension at full lock, brake caliper height on the Limited's larger front brake package, and lug thread confirmation at M12x1.5. For the MP we measure the same set of clearances at the 65.1mm hub bore, plus a specific caliper bracket clearance check against the inner barrel of the candidate wheel. That bracket sits close to the hub on the MP and is the most common reason a wheel that bolts on cleanly to a 5x110 hub will not clear the brake assembly on a Compass MP. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull these from manufacturer spec sheets the way most retailers do.
