Jeep Grand Cherokee Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the longest-running stable-platform SUVs in our catalog. Every generation from the 1999 WJ forward has used 5x127 (5x5) with a 71.5mm hub bore. That covers WJ (1999-2004), WK (2005-2010), WK2 (2011-2021), WL (2022 and up), and the WL-platform Grand Cherokee L 3-row (2021 and up). The 1993-1998 ZJ predates this run and used a different platform. What changes generation-to-generation isn't the bolt pattern at all. It's the size of the wheel the truck can wear, and on the SRT8 and TrackHawk variants, the brake package behind the wheel. Find your generation below.
Find Your Jeep Grand Cherokee Generation
Pick your year range and trim to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Grand Cherokee. Bolt pattern and hub bore are constant across the entire model history (5x127, 71.5mm). What differs is the diameter and width range each generation accepts and the brake package on the SRT8, TrackHawk, and standard trims. The Grand Cherokee L sits on the same WL platform as the current 2-row Grand Cherokee and uses the same fitment window.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Bolt Pattern Across Every Generation
Every Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 1999 WJ forward uses 5x127 (5x5) with a 71.5mm hub bore. That covers WJ, WK, WK2, WL, the current Grand Cherokee L 3-row, and every performance variant (SRT8 from 2005-2010 and 2012-2021, TrackHawk from 2018-2021). The 1993-1998 ZJ predates this 5x127 run and used the earlier Cherokee XJ-derived 5x114.3 pattern, so ZJ wheels do not cross to a WJ or anything newer. Wheels generally bolt across the WJ through WL run by pattern alone, but the diameter and width window each generation accepts changes, and the SRT8 and TrackHawk performance trims have brake packages that the standard trucks do not. Match the wheel to your specific generation and trim, not just to "5x127 Grand Cherokee."
The 5x127 pattern is also used on the JK (2007-2018) and JL (2018 and up) Wrangler, the 2011 and newer Dodge Durango, and the 2019 and newer Ram 1500. Wheels will bolt up by pattern across those, but the suspension geometry and fender clearance windows each vehicle accepts are very different. Bolt pattern compatibility is not the same as fitment. Compare across the Jeep lineup at our Jeep wheels and rims hub.
Why SRT8 and TrackHawk Need Their Own Fitment Rows
Jeep built the SRT8 in two runs: 2005-2010 on the WK, then 2012-2021 on the WK2. The TrackHawk arrived on the WK2 in 2018 and ran through 2021. Both performance trims ship with Brembo brake packages that are larger than the standard Grand Cherokee. The WK2 SRT8 runs Brembo 6-piston front calipers. The TrackHawk runs an even larger 4-piston Brembo front package with a yellow finish that is the easiest visual tell. Those calipers sit closer to the wheel face than the standard truck's, which tightens the inside-of-the-spoke clearance window. A wheel that fits a standard WK2 Grand Cherokee will sometimes hit the SRT8 or TrackHawk caliper.
The TrackHawk's 4-piston front Brembo is the largest brake on any Grand Cherokee, but it does NOT restrict aftermarket wheel fitment as tightly as a Hellcat 6-piston Brembo. The TrackHawk's caliper is shallower than the Hellcat's, so the inside-of-the-spoke clearance window stays workable across most 20-22 inch aftermarket wheels. We treat the TrackHawk as its own row because the front and rear offset windows are different (a true F/R stagger), not because the brake package alone rules out wheels.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Jeep Grand Cherokee
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Grand Cherokee generations and trims:
- WJ (1999-2004): 5x127 bolt pattern, 71.5mm hub bore, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16 to 22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7 to 9.5 inch square.
- WK (2005-2010): 5x127 bolt pattern, 71.5mm hub bore, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 17 to 22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7 to 9.5 inch square.
- WK2 Standard (2011-2021): 5x127 bolt pattern, 71.5mm hub bore, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18 to 24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8 to 10.5 inch square.
- WK2 SRT8 (2012-2021): 5x127, 71.5mm hub bore, 5 lug. Factory Brembo 6-piston front. Element aftermarket diameter range: 20 to 24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 9.5 to 11 inch square. (Savini builds a popular 22x11 fitment on this trim.)
- WK SRT8 (2005-2010): 5x127, 71.5mm hub bore, 5 lug. Factory upgraded brakes. Element aftermarket diameter range: 20 to 22 inch. Aftermarket width range: front 8 to 9.5 inch, rear 9 to 10.5 inch (stagger optional).
- TrackHawk (2018-2021): 5x127, 71.5mm hub bore, 5 lug. Factory Brembo 4-piston front (yellow). Element aftermarket diameter range: 20 to 24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 10 to 11 inch. Tracked as a true F/R stagger fitment (front and rear offset windows differ).
- WL Standard (2022 and Up): 5x127, 71.5mm hub bore, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18 to 24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8 to 10.5 inch square. Trailhawk and 4xe trims share this window.
- Grand Cherokee L (2021 and Up, 3-Row): 5x127, 71.5mm hub bore, 5 lug. WL platform. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18 to 24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8 to 10.5 inch square.
For your exact aftermarket offset on any of these rows, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Grand Cherokee (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the Grand Cherokee wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
The most common Grand Cherokee fitment mistake is ordering a standard-trim wheel onto an SRT8 or TrackHawk. The bolt pattern matches (5x127, 71.5mm bore) so the wheel bolts up but the caliper can hit the inside of the spoke. We track each performance variant as its own row so the leaf page recommendations match the truck.
How We Confirm Fitment on Jeep Grand Cherokee Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every Grand Cherokee generation we carry. For the Grand Cherokee that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension components, brake caliper height (on the standard, SRT8 6-piston Brembo, and TrackHawk 4-piston Brembo packages), hub bore confirmation on the 71.5mm hub, lug seat geometry, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed at full lock. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets, and the WK2 SRT8 and TrackHawk Brembo packages are exactly the kind of variants where a spec sheet alone will not cover the buying picture.
That measurement work is what produced the trim-specific fitment windows on this page, and it's why we track the WK2 SRT8 apart from the standard WK2, the TrackHawk apart from the SRT8, and the Grand Cherokee L apart from the 2-row WL even though they share the same platform. Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Every Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 1999 WJ forward uses 5x127 (5x5) with a 71.5mm hub bore. That covers WJ, WK, WK2, WL, the Grand Cherokee L 3-row, and the SRT8 / TrackHawk performance variants. The pattern is constant across the entire model history from 1999 onward. The earlier 1993-1998 ZJ used a different platform and ran 5x114.3, so ZJ wheels do not cross.
Will wheels from my older Grand Cherokee fit my new one?
By bolt pattern, yes. Every Grand Cherokee since 1999 uses 5x127 with a 71.5mm hub bore. By fitment, often not. The WJ accepts up to 22 inch wheels in 7 to 9.5 inch widths, while the WK2 and WL accept up to 24 inch wheels in 8 to 10.5 inch widths. The SRT8 and TrackHawk performance trims have brake packages that change the buying picture. Match the wheel to your specific generation and trim, not just to "5x127 Grand Cherokee."
Does my Grand Cherokee have Brembo brakes?
SRT8 (WK 2005-2010, WK2 2012-2021) and TrackHawk (2018-2021) ship with Brembo brakes from the factory. The WK2 SRT8 runs a 6-piston front Brembo. The TrackHawk runs a larger 4-piston front Brembo with a yellow finish that is the easiest visual tell. Standard Grand Cherokee trims, including the WL Trailhawk and 4xe, have smaller calipers without the Brembo logo. If you are not sure, check the build sheet, or our team can confirm from your VIN.
Does the TrackHawk Brembo restrict aftermarket fitment the way a Hellcat does?
No. The TrackHawk's 4-piston front Brembo is the largest brake on any Grand Cherokee, but the caliper is shallower than the Hellcat's 6-piston front, so the inside-of-the-spoke clearance window stays workable across most 20-22 inch aftermarket wheels. We track the TrackHawk as its own fitment row because the front and rear offset windows are different (a true F/R stagger), not because the brake package alone rules out wheel choices.
Will Wrangler or Durango wheels fit my Grand Cherokee?
By bolt pattern yes, by fitment usually not. The JK and JL Wrangler, the 2011 and newer Durango, and every Grand Cherokee since 1999 all use 5x127 with a 71.5mm hub bore. The wheel will bolt up. The Wrangler is built for off-road clearance and accepts much different wheels (typically narrower diameter, wider widths, with lifted setups taking the truck even further out of the Grand Cherokee's window). A Wrangler wheel on a Grand Cherokee often won't sit right inside the fender. Same pattern, different fitment.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Grand Cherokee?
On a WK2 or WL standard trim (including the Grand Cherokee L 3-row), 24 inch is at the top of the catalog window. WK2 SRT8 and TrackHawk both reach 24 inch with widths up to 11 inch. Older WJ and WK trucks top out at 22 inch. Most modern Grand Cherokee customers run 20 or 22 inch because tire selection is widest there and ride quality stays reasonable for daily driving.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Grand Cherokee?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the 71.5mm Grand Cherokee hub. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I find the right wheels for my specific Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Pick your generation from the grid above. For 2005-2021, pick whether you have a standard trim, an SRT8, or a TrackHawk because we track those as separate fitment rows. The Grand Cherokee L (2021 and up) is the 3-row WL-platform variant and shares the standard WL fitment window. The WL Trailhawk and 4xe trims also share the standard WL window. If you are not sure which generation or trim you have, our team can identify your exact configuration from your VIN. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
