Land Rover LR2, LR3, and LR4 Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
This hub consolidates three Land Rover model lines that share the LR alphanumeric naming convention from the late 2000s and early 2010s but sit on two completely different chassis families. The LR2 (2008-2013 in the US) is the unibody compact SUV that other markets sold as the Freelander 2 (L359). The LR3 (2005-2009) and LR4 (2010-2016) are body-on-frame mid-size luxury SUVs that other markets sold as the Discovery 3 and Discovery 4 on the JLR T5 platform. They are different vehicles with different bolt patterns and different hub bores, so the wheels do not cross between LR2 and LR3 / LR4.
The LR2 runs 5x108 with a 63.4mm hub bore on the smaller-Land-Rover crossover geometry, the same bolt pattern and hub bore used on the modern Range Rover Evoque, the Range Rover Velar, and the Discovery Sport. The LR3 and LR4 run 5x120 with a 72.56mm hub bore on the larger full-size Land Rover geometry, the same bolt pattern and hub bore used on the full-size Range Rover, the Range Rover Sport, and the modern L462 Discovery and L663 Defender. The Discovery name continued in the US under the L462 chassis from 2017 forward, which is covered separately at our Land Rover Discovery wheels and rims hub because the L462 left the body-on-frame T5 platform behind.
Find Your LR2, LR3, or LR4
Pick your generation to see wheels and rims that fit. The LR2 is a separate chassis from the LR3 and LR4. The LR3 and LR4 share a chassis but we track them as separate catalog rows because the LR4 was a major mid-cycle refresh with revised brakes, suspension, and wheel options.
The LR2, LR3, and LR4 Bolt Patterns
Two different bolt patterns sit on this hub. The LR2 (L359) runs 5x108 with a 63.4mm hub bore on the smaller Land Rover crossover platform. The LR3 (Discovery 3) and LR4 (Discovery 4) run 5x120 with a 72.56mm hub bore on the larger Land Rover full-size platform. All three use M14x1.5 lug nuts. A wheel that fits the LR2 will not bolt to an LR3 or an LR4 and vice versa, because the bolt circle, the hub bore, and the offset window are all different.
The LR2 shares 5x108 / 63.4mm with the modern Range Rover Evoque, the Range Rover Velar, and the Discovery Sport. A factory wheel from any of those platforms will bolt to an LR2 hub, but offset, brake clearance, and tire sizing still need to match the LR2 fitment, so we measure the LR2 separately. The LR3 and LR4 share 5x120 / 72.56mm with the full-size Range Rover, the Range Rover Sport, the L462 Discovery, and the modern L663 Defender. A factory wheel from any of those will bolt to an LR3 or LR4 hub, with the same caveat on offset and brake clearance.
The L314 Freelander (2002-2005) sold in the US uses 5x114.3 / 70.5mm, a different pattern from both the LR2 and the LR3 / LR4. Other markets called the L359 the "Freelander 2," but the US market always sold the L359 as the LR2. If your truck wears the L314 first-generation Freelander nameplate, head to our Land Rover Freelander wheels and rims hub.
LR2, LR3, and LR4 Trims and Wheel Specs
The LR2 was sold in HSE and HSE Lux trims in the US, with the inline-6 Volvo-sourced engine in earlier years and the Ford-derived turbocharged inline-4 from 2013. All LR2 trims share the same wheel package and run 5x108 / 63.4mm with the matched front and rear brake size typical of a compact luxury crossover. The factory wheel ran 18 or 19 inch depending on trim.
The LR3 was sold in SE and HSE trims with the 4.4L Jaguar-derived V8 in the US. The LR4 was the 2010 mid-cycle refresh, with revised front-end styling, an updated interior, the supercharged 5.0L V8 (later years), and a revised brake package. The LR3 and LR4 share the same body-on-frame T5 chassis and the same 5x120 / 72.56mm bolt pattern, but the LR4 brake update is significant enough that we track the two as separate catalog rows. The factory wheel package on the LR3 / LR4 ran 18 to 20 inch depending on year and trim. The LR3 and LR4 run matched front and rear brake sizes.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, LR2 / LR3 / LR4
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the three platforms:
- LR2 (2008-2013, L359): 5x108 bolt pattern, 63.4mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug nuts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7.5-8.5 inch. Square fitment. Matched front and rear brake size.
- LR3 (2005-2009, Discovery 3): 5x120 bolt pattern, 72.56mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug nuts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8-9.5 inch. Square fitment. Matched front and rear brake size.
- LR4 (2010-2016, Discovery 4): 5x120 bolt pattern, 72.56mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug nuts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8-9.5 inch. Square fitment. Matched front and rear brake size; brake package was updated from the LR3.
For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific LR2, LR3, or LR4 (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the LR2 / LR3 / LR4 wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on LR2, LR3, and LR4 Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including all three of the LR2, LR3, and LR4. For these trucks that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on both axles, gap between the back of the wheel and the air suspension components (on the LR3 / LR4), brake caliper height on the front and rear axles (matched front and rear on all three platforms per our catalog measurements), hub bore confirmation on the 63.4mm LR2 hub or the 72.56mm LR3 / LR4 hub, and lug nut seat depth on the M14x1.5 nuts. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. The LR2, LR3, and LR4 are tracked as three separate rows on this hub because the chassis, the hub geometry, and the brake setup are different across them.
LR2, LR3, and LR4 Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Land Rover LR2, LR3, and LR4?
The LR2 (2008-2013) uses 5x108 with a 63.4mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug nuts. The LR3 (2005-2009) and LR4 (2010-2016) use 5x120 with a 72.56mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug nuts. The LR2 is on a different chassis from the LR3 / LR4 and the wheels do not interchange between the two. Within the LR3 / LR4 family the bolt pattern is identical, but we track them as separate catalog rows because the LR4 brake update is significant.
Will LR3 wheels fit an LR4?
Often yes, because the LR3 and LR4 share the body-on-frame T5 platform with the same 5x120 / 72.56mm bolt pattern and the same M14x1.5 lug nut spec. The LR4 is the mid-cycle refresh of the LR3. The brake package was updated on the LR4, so a wheel that fit the LR3 with tight clearance behind the front caliper may not clear the LR4 brake. We measure the two as separate catalog rows. Confirm the wheel offset is rated for your specific year before ordering.
Will LR2 wheels fit an LR3 or LR4?
No. The LR2 uses 5x108 with a 63.4mm hub bore on a unibody chassis. The LR3 and LR4 use 5x120 with a 72.56mm hub bore on a body-on-frame chassis. Different bolt circle, different hub bore. The wheels do not interchange. The shared "LR" naming convention is a Land Rover branding choice for the US market, not an indication of shared chassis or shared wheel fitment.
Is the LR3 the same as the Discovery 3, and the LR4 the same as the Discovery 4?
Yes. The US-market LR3 is the same truck other markets sold as the Land Rover Discovery 3. The US-market LR4 is the same truck other markets sold as the Land Rover Discovery 4. The naming was a US-only choice. Bolt pattern, hub bore, brake setup, and wheel specs are identical between the US LR3 / LR4 and the Discovery 3 / Discovery 4 in other markets. The Discovery name returned to the US in 2017 on the L462 chassis, which is a different platform covered on our Land Rover Discovery hub.
Is the LR2 the same as the Freelander 2?
Yes. The US-market LR2 is the same truck other markets sold as the Land Rover Freelander 2 (L359 chassis). The naming was a US-only choice. The first-generation Freelander (L314) sold in the US from 2002 through 2005 is a different chassis with a different bolt pattern and is covered on our separate Land Rover Freelander hub. The L359 LR2 and the L314 Freelander share a nameplate in other markets but do not share wheels.
Are LR2, LR3, and LR4 wheels staggered?
No. All three (LR2, LR3, LR4) ship square from the factory with the same wheel size on every corner. The all-wheel-drive driveline and the off road tire wear consistency the platforms were engineered around expect matched tire sizes for tire rotation. Aftermarket builds on these trucks stay square.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on an LR3 or LR4?
Our measured Element aftermarket window tops at 22 inch on the LR3 and 24 inch on the LR4. 22 inch is the most popular aftermarket upgrade size on both. Above 22 inch on the LR4 we recommend a fitment consultation because tire sidewall thins below what most LR4 customers want for ride quality on the air suspension and curb-damage protection. The LR2 caps at 20 inch in our measured window because the smaller chassis and brake package limit the practical upgrade range.
Do I need hub centric rings on an LR2, LR3, or LR4?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel centerbore is larger than your truck's hub. That is 63.4mm on the LR2 and 72.56mm on the LR3 / LR4. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
