The Lexus GX is the luxury body-on-frame SUV built on the Toyota 4Runner ladder frame. That same-chassis platform fact matters here because the 6x139.7 bolt pattern, the long suspension travel, and the overland-capable geometry are inherited directly from the 4Runner side of the family. Three generations cover the platform. The GX 470 (2003-2009) was the original V8 ladder-frame truck. The GX 460 (2010-2023) ran a long production cycle with a mid-cycle refresh. The all-new GX 550 (2024+) moved to the TNGA-F platform alongside the latest 4Runner and Land Cruiser, and the centerbore changed with it. Every Lexus GX since 2003 runs the 6x139.7 / 5.5 inch bolt pattern, but the centerbore and the overland fitment window are different between the older 106mm-bore GX 470 / GX 460 and the new 95.1mm-bore GX 550. The Lexus GX Bolt Pattern

Every Lexus GX from 2003 forward runs the 6x139.7 bolt pattern, also called 6x5.5 inch (139.7mm = 5.5"). This is the long-running Toyota truck and SUV pattern. The factory centerbore is 106mm on the GX 470 (2003-2009) and the GX 460 (2010-2023), then changes to 95.1mm on the all-new GX 550 (2024+). A wheel made for the older 106mm-bore GX will still bolt to the GX 550's 95.1mm hub mechanically, but it will sit lug-centric, not hub-centric, and we recommend a hub-centric ring set sized for the GX 550 to keep the wheel centered properly.

Because the GX rides on the Toyota 4Runner ladder frame, the 6x139.7 pattern is shared with the same-era 4Runner and Tacoma, and with older Tundra trucks. That makes wheels mechanically cross-compatible across the Toyota truck and SUV lineup at the bolt-pattern level, but trail width, brake clearance, and stock-vs-overland fitment differ between the trucks and the GX. Why Lexus GX Stock vs Overland Fitment Matters

The GX has two distinct buyer profiles. Street and luxury-look owners running 20 to 24 inch wheels on a stock-height truck, and overland builders running 17 or 18 inch wheels on 32 to 33 inch all-terrain tires with a 2-3 inch lift. The two profiles ask the wheel to do opposite things. The street build wants a larger diameter that fills the fender on a stock-height truck. The overland build wants a smaller diameter that gives the tire more sidewall for off-road compliance, plus enough backspace to clear the lift hardware. Element measures these two cases separately on every GX 460 and GX 550 fitment.

The 2014-2023 GX 460 has its own dedicated overland fitment window in our catalog (2-3 inch lift, 32 inch tires, minor trimming), and the 2024+ GX 550 has its own 2-2.5 inch lift overland fitment. These windows are different from the stock-height windows on the same trucks. The wheel that fits a stock-height GX 460 can rub a fender flare once the truck is lifted on 32s, and the overland fitment will look too tucked on a stock-height GX. Picking the right window matters.
