Lexus IS Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Lexus IS is Lexus's compact luxury sport sedan and one of the longer-running platforms in our catalog. Element Wheels measures fitment across three generations: the original XE10 IS 300 (2000-2005), the XE20 IS 250 and IS 350 (2006-2013) and the V8 IS F (2008-2014), and the current XE30 IS 200t, IS 300, IS 350, and IS 500 F Sport Performance (2014 and up). Bolt pattern is straightforward on the IS. Every generation runs 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore, including the IS F and the current IS 500 F Sport Performance. What changes between trims is the brake package and the aftermarket diameter floor. The IS 250 and base IS 300 run matched front-rear brakes and accept a 16 or 17 inch wheel as a minimum. The IS 350, the F SPORT trim option, the IS F, and the IS 500 F Sport Performance all run a front brake larger than the rear, which is the norm on a performance-leaning sedan and which lifts the minimum aftermarket diameter on those trims. Pick your generation below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific IS.
Find Your Lexus IS Generation
Pick your generation and trim to see wheels and rims that fit your specific IS. The bolt pattern is constant at 5x114.3 across every Lexus IS, so trim and brake package are the variables that shape the aftermarket window. The IS 350, IS F, and IS 500 F Sport Performance carry the largest brake hardware in the lineup and start at a higher minimum diameter than the IS 250 or base IS 300.
2000-2005 / 5x114.3 IS 250 (XE20)
2006-2013 / 5x114.3 IS 350 (XE20)
2006-2013 / 5x114.3 IS F (XE20)
2008-2014 / 5x114.3 IS 250 (XE30)
2014-2015 / 5x114.3 IS 350 (XE30)
2014-2020 / 5x114.3 IS 200t / 300 (XE30)
2016-2020 / 5x114.3 IS 300 / 350 F Sport
2021 and up / 5x114.3 IS 500 F Sport Performance
2022 and up / 5x114.3
The Lexus IS Bolt Pattern
Every Lexus IS uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. That holds from the original 2000-2005 IS 300 (XE10) through the XE20 IS 250, IS 350, and IS F, and across the entire current XE30 generation, including the IS 200t, IS 300, IS 350, the F SPORT trim option on those cars, and the V8 IS 500 F Sport Performance (2022 and up). Lug pattern is consistent across the full 25-plus-year platform run. The 5x114.3 pattern is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial; that imperial nickname refers ONLY to 5x114.3 (114.3mm = 4.5 inches) and not to 5x115. A wheel listed for 5x115 (Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, current Mustang on some trims) will NOT bolt onto a Lexus IS, even though the difference reads as less than a millimeter. The hub bore stays 60.1mm across every IS generation, so the lug-stress geometry is consistent across the platform.
The IS shares its 5x114.3 bolt pattern and 60.1mm hub bore with the Lexus GS across every generation. The IS and GS are the only two Lexus sedan platforms that have stayed on 5x114.3 the entire way through. The Lexus LS moved to 5x120 with the 2007 LS 460 redesign and never came back; the IS never made that transition. Compare across the rest of the Lexus lineup at our Lexus wheels and rims hub.
F SPORT vs IS F vs IS 500 F Sport Performance: Three Different Things
The IS lineup has three different "F" badges and confusing them is the most common mistake on this platform. F SPORT (with a space) is a trim package available on the IS 250, IS 300, and IS 350 across the XE20 and XE30 generations. F SPORT adds suspension, body, and interior touches, and on the XE30 IS 350 F SPORT it bumps the brake hardware over the base car, but it stays a six-cylinder sedan. The IS F (no space, no "Sport") is a completely separate car. The IS F was a V8-powered sedan produced from 2008 through 2014 on the XE20 chassis, with bigger brakes than any other IS of its era and a tighter aftermarket window. The IS 500 F Sport Performance (2022 and up) is the modern successor to the IS F. It puts the 5.0L V8 from the RC F into the XE30 chassis and runs the most aggressive front brake package in the current lineup. All three carry the 5x114.3 bolt pattern, so the lug math is the same, but the brake hardware, the front-fender clearance, and the aftermarket window are all different.
On the IS 350, the F SPORT trim option, the IS F, and the IS 500 F Sport Performance, the front brake package is larger than the rear. That is normal on a performance car of this caliber; the front axle does the majority of the braking work and Lexus scales the front rotor and caliper accordingly. The XE20 IS F is unusual in that the rear brake is also stepped up (catalog brake-size code 3/2), reflecting the V8 power and the way Lexus engineered the IS F as a track-capable sedan. The IS 500 F Sport Performance also lifts the front floor: 19 inch minimum aftermarket diameter on both. We measure each trim directly, which is why our IS fitments separate IS 250 from IS 350 from IS F from IS 500 even within the same chassis generation.

How We Confirm Fitment on Lexus IS Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every IS generation from the 2000 IS 300 through the current IS 500 F Sport Performance. For the IS that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height (front and rear, with the IS F and IS 500 calipers being the largest in the IS family), hub bore confirmation, lug seat geometry, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. That measurement work is what produced the chassis-specific and brake-specific fitment windows on this page, including the 19 inch minimum diameter on the IS F and the IS 500 F Sport Performance.
Lexus IS Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Lexus IS?
Every Lexus IS uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. That holds across the XE10 IS 300 (2000-2005), the XE20 IS 250, IS 350, and IS F (2006-2014), and the entire current XE30 generation, including the IS 200t, IS 300, IS 350, F SPORT trims, and the IS 500 F Sport Performance (2022 and up). The IS has never used any other bolt pattern.
What's the difference between F SPORT, IS F, and IS 500 F Sport Performance?
Three different things. F SPORT (with a space) is a trim option available on the IS 250, IS 300, and IS 350 that adds suspension, body, and interior touches; on the XE30 IS 350 F SPORT it also bumps the brake hardware over the base car. The IS F (no space, no "Sport") is a separate model that was produced from 2008 through 2014 on the XE20 chassis with a 5.0L V8 and bigger brakes than any other IS of its era. The IS 500 F Sport Performance (2022 and up) is the modern V8 sedan that succeeded the IS F on the XE30 chassis. Bolt pattern matches across all three (5x114.3 / 60.1mm), but brake hardware, front-fender clearance, and the aftermarket window differ.
Will IS 250 wheels fit an IS 350 or an IS F?
Bolt pattern crosses (every IS is 5x114.3 / 60.1mm), but fitment does not always cross. A 17 inch IS 250 wheel will not clear the IS 350's larger front brake caliper in many cases, and it will not clear the IS F's Brembo front caliper at all. The IS 350 starts at 18 inch and the IS F starts at 19 inch in our measured window. Going the other direction, an IS 350 or IS F wheel will physically bolt onto an IS 250, but the offset and width may sit poke-out or rub on the smaller car. Use the Year/Make/Model search to confirm a wheel was fit-tested on your specific trim.
What size wheels and tires came on the Lexus IS from the factory?
Factory wheels range from 16 inch on the early XE10 IS 300 up to 19 inch on the current IS 500 F Sport Performance. The XE20 IS 250 and IS 350 typically came with 17 or 18 inch factory wheels. The XE20 IS F shipped on a 19 inch factory wheel. The XE30 IS 350 F SPORT and the IS 500 F Sport Performance both run a 19 inch factory wheel as the high-trim spec. Width varies by trim but factory pairings tend to be a 7-8 inch front and an 8-8.5 inch rear on the standard cars, stepping up on the F-badged models.
Are Lexus IS wheels staggered?
Optional on every RWD IS and either staggered or square depending on trim. The XE10 IS 300, the XE20 IS 250 RWD and IS 350 RWD, the IS F, and the XE30 IS 350 and IS 500 F Sport Performance all accept staggered as an option and a square setup also works. The AWD trims (XE20 IS 250 AWD, XE20 IS 350 AWD, XE30 IS 300 AWD) run square fitment by default; AWD drivetrains need matched front-rear wheel and tire circumference. The IS 500 F Sport Performance and the IS F are the two trims where we most often recommend staggered for the visual line and the rear-drive chassis balance.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Lexus IS?
Our measured aftermarket window tops at 20 inch on every Lexus IS, including the IS F and the IS 500 F Sport Performance. The IS is a compact luxury sport sedan and above 20 inch the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops sharply, defeating the point of the platform. For an XE10 IS 300, anything from 16 to 20 inch works. For the XE20 IS 250 and IS 350, 17 to 20 inch is the range. The IS F is 19 to 20 inch only. The IS 500 F Sport Performance is also 19 to 20 inch only.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Lexus IS?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 60.1mm. That holds across every Lexus IS generation since the hub bore stays 60.1mm from the 2000 IS 300 through the current IS 500 F Sport Performance. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I find the right wheels for my specific Lexus IS build?
Three steps. Confirm your generation (XE10 2000-2005, XE20 2006-2014, XE30 2014 and up) and trim (IS 250, IS 300, IS 350, IS 200t, IS F, or IS 500 F Sport Performance, plus the F SPORT trim option where applicable). Confirm your drivetrain (RWD or AWD) since the AWD XE20 IS 250 runs square fitment. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific IS and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. For an IS F or an IS 500 F Sport Performance, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
