Lexus SC Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Lexus SC ran two distinct generations across sixteen model years and never broke out of one bolt pattern. The first generation Z30 coupe (sold as the SC 300 with the 2JZ-GE inline-six and the SC 400 with the 1UZ-FE V8) ran from 1992 through 2000 and remains one of the most sought-after Japanese luxury chassis on the enthusiast market. The second generation Z40 came back in 2002 as the SC 430, a retractable hardtop convertible with the 3UZ-FE V8 that stayed in production through 2008. Element Wheels measures fitment for both. The bolt pattern is constant across every SC: 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore, the same mainstream Toyota and Lexus pattern carried by the IS, ES, GS, and RC. What changes between generations is the wheel size window, the offset window, and what kind of build the chassis tends to attract. Pick your generation below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific SC.
Find Your Lexus SC Generation
Pick your generation to see wheels and rims that fit your specific SC. The bolt pattern is constant at 5x114.3 / 60.1mm across every SC, so generation is what shapes the aftermarket window. The Z30 SC 300 and SC 400 share their chassis with the JDM Toyota Soarer Z30 of the same era. The Z40 SC 430 shares its chassis with the JDM Toyota Soarer Z40. Same-chassis fitment data applies in both directions.
The Lexus SC Bolt Pattern
Every Lexus SC uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. That holds across the first generation SC 300 and SC 400 from 1992 through 2000, and across the second generation SC 430 from 2002 through 2008. The 5x114.3 pattern is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial. That imperial nickname refers ONLY to 5x114.3 (114.3mm = 4.5 inches) and not to 5x115. A wheel listed for 5x115 (current Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, some Mustang trims) will NOT bolt onto a Lexus SC, even though the difference reads as less than a millimeter on a tape measure. The hub bore stays 60.1mm across every SC variant.
The SC shares its 5x114.3 / 60.1mm spec with the Lexus IS, GS, ES, and RC. A wheel that fits an IS 300 of the same era will share lug math and hub centering with an SC 300, though the SC is a coupe with different brake hardware and fender geometry, so always confirm the full spec before swapping wheels across models. Compare across the rest of the Lexus lineup at our Lexus wheels and rims hub.
Z30 SC 300 / SC 400 vs Z40 SC 430: Two Different Cars
Both cars wear the SC badge. They are otherwise completely separate machines. The Z30 SC 300 and SC 400 (1992-2000) are hardtop coupes built on the same chassis as the JDM Toyota Soarer Z30. The SC 300 runs the 2JZ-GE 3.0L inline-six (the naturally aspirated cousin of the 2JZ-GTE in the Mk4 Supra). The SC 400 runs the 1UZ-FE 4.0L V8. Both are rear wheel drive coupes that have aged into enthusiast classic territory, especially the SC 300 as a 2JZ swap base. The Z40 SC 430 (2002-2008) is a retractable hardtop convertible built on the Z40 Soarer chassis with the 3UZ-FE 4.3L V8. It is a luxury cruiser, not a coupe, and it occupies a different corner of the market entirely.
The two generations share the 5x114.3 bolt pattern and the 60.1mm hub bore, so the lug math crosses. Everything else differs. Brake hardware, fender clearance, ride height, factory wheel size, and the kind of wheel customers want to put on the car are all different. We measure each generation directly, which is why our catalog separates them into two distinct leaves. Front and rear brake are matched in size on every SC variant in our catalog.

How We Confirm Fitment on Lexus SC Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the SC across both the Z30 coupe (SC 300 / SC 400) and the Z40 retractable hardtop convertible (SC 430). For the SC that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation, lug seat geometry, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. That measurement work is what produced the generation-specific fitment windows on this page, including the 16 inch floor on the Z30 SC 300 / SC 400 and the 18 inch floor on the Z40 SC 430.
Lexus SC Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Lexus SC?
Every Lexus SC uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. That covers the Z30 SC 300 and SC 400 (1992-2000) and the Z40 SC 430 (2002-2008). The SC has never used any other bolt pattern across either generation.
What's the difference between the SC 300, SC 400, and SC 430?
The SC 300 and SC 400 are both first generation Z30 hardtop coupes (1992-2000). The SC 300 runs the 2JZ-GE inline-six. The SC 400 runs the 1UZ-FE V8. They share the same body, chassis, suspension, and wheel fitment box. The SC 430 is the second generation Z40 retractable hardtop convertible (2002-2008) with the 3UZ-FE V8. The SC 430 is a different car on a different chassis. All three share the 5x114.3 / 60.1mm bolt pattern, so lug math is the same, but the SC 430 has a different fender, ride height, and aftermarket window than the SC 300 / SC 400.
Will Toyota Soarer wheels fit a Lexus SC?
Same chassis, same fitment. The Z30 Toyota Soarer is the JDM-market version of the SC 300 / SC 400, and the Z40 Toyota Soarer is the JDM-market version of the SC 430. JDM Soarer wheels carry the same 5x114.3 / 60.1mm bolt pattern as the corresponding Lexus SC. Lug math, hub centering, and brake clearance all cross. Confirm width and offset against your specific build, since JDM trims and aftermarket Soarer fitments vary.
Will Lexus IS or GS wheels fit a Lexus SC?
Bolt pattern and hub bore cross (every Lexus IS, GS, and SC is 5x114.3 / 60.1mm), so lug math is the same. But each car has its own fender geometry, brake hardware, and aftermarket offset window. A 16 or 17 inch IS 300 wheel will mount on an SC 300 mechanically, but the offset that flushes an IS 300 sedan rarely flushes the SC coupe. Use the Year/Make/Model search to confirm a wheel was fit-tested on your specific SC generation.
What size wheels and tires came on the Lexus SC from the factory?
The Z30 SC 300 and SC 400 typically shipped on 16 inch factory wheels through their run, with later model year SC 400 trims moving to a 17 inch option. The Z40 SC 430 shipped on 18 inch factory wheels across its production run. Confirm your specific build in the owner manual or the Monroney sticker if it is still in the door jamb area.
Are Lexus SC wheels staggered?
Optional on every SC. A square setup works on the SC 300, SC 400, and SC 430. Staggered is common on tuned SC 300 / SC 400 builds for the visual line and the rear wheel drive chassis balance, and the SC 430 looks right with a wider rear when the rest of the build supports it. The factory shipped both generations with a matched front and rear wheel size.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Lexus SC?
Our measured aftermarket window tops at 20 inch on every Lexus SC. The Z30 SC 300 and SC 400 accept anything from 16 to 20 inch. The Z40 SC 430 starts at 18 inch and runs through 20 inch. Above 20 inch the tire sidewall thins enough on either chassis that ride quality drops sharply and the look starts working against the lines of the car.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Lexus SC?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 60.1mm. That holds across both the Z30 SC 300 / SC 400 and the Z40 SC 430. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
