The Lincoln Navigator Bolt Pattern

The 1st gen Navigator (1998-2002) ran 5x135. Lincoln redesigned the Navigator for 2003 and moved to 6x135 with an 87mm hub bore. The pattern has been 6x135 / 87mm CB on every Navigator built since. Lug count is the easiest way to confirm your truck. 5 studs means a 1998-2002 1st gen. 6 studs means a 2003 or newer Navigator. The wheels do not bolt across that transition.

The 2003-and-newer Navigator shares its 6x135 / 87mm pattern with the same-era Ford F-150 and the Ford Expedition because the Navigator is the luxury Lincoln-badged version of the Expedition on the same full-size SUV platform. Wheels are largely cross-shoppable across those three platforms within the same era, with brake clearance and stock-vs-lifted fitment being the deciding variables. What Changed Across Lincoln Navigator Generations

Four Navigator generations show up in our catalog with two major spec changes across them. The bolt pattern changed once (in 2003, from 5x135 to 6x135). The lug thread changed twice (from M12x1.75 on the 1st gen, to M14x2.0 on the 2nd and early 3rd gen, to M14x1.5 on the late 3rd gen 2015-2017 trucks and the 4th gen 2018-and-up trucks). The 87mm hub bore has stayed consistent across every Navigator built since 1998.

The aftermarket buyer base on the Navigator splits roughly into two groups. Stock-height owners running 22 to 26 inch wheels for the luxury street look, and lifted owners running wider aggressive fitments on 33 to 37 inch tires for off-road and stance builds. The wheel that fits a stock-height Navigator can rub a fender or hit a control arm once the truck is lifted, and the wider lifted-fitment wheels often poke past the fender on a stock-height truck.

One Navigator-specific detail. On the 2015-2017 and 2018-and-up trucks, some highly concave-style wheels can interfere with the rear axle center cap area, the same issue we see on the same-era Ford Expedition. For those concave-face wheels on the newer Navigators, the rear axle hub face sometimes needs to be shaved for center cap clearance. We flag this before shipping so the work can be planned, not discovered on installation day.
