The first generation MPV (chassis code LV) ran 1989 through 1998 as a rear wheel drive V6 minivan, with optional all wheel drive on later trims. The second generation MPV (chassis code LW) ran 1999 through 2006 as a front wheel drive minivan on a Mazda passenger car platform, with the V6 carrying through the second generation as well. The Mazda MPV Bolt Pattern and Hub Bore

The second generation 1999-2006 LW Mazda MPV runs 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore and 12x1.5 lug nuts. The 5x114.3 pattern is also expressed as 5x4.5 in imperial nickname because 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches exactly. The lug count is 5 and the thread pitch is M12x1.5 across every LW MPV trim from 1999 through 2006. The Element Wheels catalog rows for the LW MPV confirm this spec directly. The 5x114.3 / 67.1mm hub configuration is the same hub family Mazda used on the contemporary 5x114.3 lineup, which makes shopping the LW MPV consistent with the rest of the brand from that era.

One thing to flag because it catches MPV buyers cross-shopping wheels. 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115. The two patterns sit about 0.7mm apart at the bolt circle, which is enough to stress the lug studs over time and create a real safety problem. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers to 5x114.3 only (because 4.5 inches equals 114.3mm exactly). 5x115 has no imperial nickname that overlaps with 5x4.5. Hub bore on the LW MPV is 67.1mm. A wheel with a centerbore larger than 67.1mm needs hub centric rings to bring the bore down to the MPV's hub diameter. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

For the first generation 1989-1998 LV MPV, the published bolt pattern is 6x139.7 across the rear wheel drive and all wheel drive variants, the same heavier-duty hub Mazda used on the contemporary B-Series pickup. LV vs LW MPV, and the Drivetrain Change

The MPV is one of those vehicles where the generation change is also a complete platform change. The first generation LV MPV (1989-1998) was a rear wheel drive V6 minivan that shared mechanical underpinnings with the Mazda B-Series pickup of the era, with optional all wheel drive on later LV trims. The second generation LW MPV (1999-2006) moved to a front wheel drive passenger car platform with a transverse V6 (the 2.5 liter GY-DE for early LW years, and the 3.0 liter AJ-DE Duratec V6 from 2002 on). The two generations do not share a bolt pattern, do not share a hub bore, and do not share a wheel.

The LW MPV is the generation Element Wheels measures and catalogs directly. The chassis runs square (same width front and rear) on every LW trim across every year, and there is no factory staggered MPV in any year. Most aftermarket LW MPV builds run square as well because the chassis is engineered around equal grip front to rear and tire rotation is part of normal maintenance. Brake size is matched front to rear from the factory across every LW catalog row in our system.

How We Confirm Fitment on Mazda MPV Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the 1999-2006 LW MPV. For the LW MPV that means clearance from the wheel to the front and rear fenders on a tall minivan body, gap between the back of the wheel and the front strut and brake caliper on a front wheel drive chassis, hub bore confirmation at 67.1mm, lug seat geometry on the M12x1.5 thread, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed at full lock. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

For the 1st generation LV MPV, the chassis is a different platform from the LW with a different bolt pattern and a different hub bore. We route LV customers to a fitment consultation rather than extrapolating from the LW catalog data.
