The 2022-2023 MX-30 is the only year range Mazda sold in North America. Sales were limited to California, with a 35.5 kWh battery and an EPA range of roughly 100 miles. The Mazda MX-30 Bolt Pattern and Hub Bore

The 2022-2023 MX-30 uses a 5x114.3 bolt pattern with a 67.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. The 5x114.3 pattern is also expressed as 5x4.5 in imperial nickname, because 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches exactly. The lug count is 5. This is Mazda's corporate 5-lug hub used on the rest of the modern Mazda lineup, including the CX-30 ICE crossover that shares the MX-30's body dimensions but runs a gasoline drivetrain. The MX-30 EV's hub geometry is identical to the CX-30 from a wheel fitment perspective.

One thing to flag because it catches MX-30 buyers cross-shopping wheels. 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115. The two patterns sit about 0.7mm apart at the bolt circle, which is enough to stress the lug studs over time and create a real safety problem. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers to 5x114.3 only (because 4.5 inches equals 114.3mm exactly). 5x115 has no imperial nickname that overlaps with 5x4.5. Hub bore on the MX-30 is 67.1mm. A wheel with a centerbore larger than 67.1mm needs hub centric rings to bring the bore down to the MX-30's hub diameter. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

EV Weight and Aftermarket Wheel Considerations

The MX-30 carries a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack under the floor, and the curb weight runs heavier than a gasoline CX-30 of equivalent body size. That extra mass matters for aftermarket wheel selection in two ways. First, the wheel needs a load rating high enough for the EV curb weight at the corner. Cheap cast wheels with marginal load ratings are not the right choice on a battery EV. Second, the suspension is tuned around the battery weight distribution. A wheel that is meaningfully heavier than the factory wheel will affect unsprung mass and ride quality more than the same wheel would on a lighter gasoline car. Flow formed and forged wheels are the preferred construction on the MX-30 for that reason.

The diameter window we measure on the MX-30 runs 18 inch on the low end (matching the factory wheel) up to 20 inch on the show-build end. The factory wheel on the MX-30 is 18 inch. 18 to 19 inch is the most common MX-30 aftermarket choice for daily driving, with the goal of keeping unsprung weight close to the factory wheel while changing the visual style. 20 inch is the show-build choice. Above 20 inch on an EV with a 35.5 kWh pack pushes the tire sidewall to a point where the harsher ride blunts the silent battery-power character of the car. The MX-30 is square (same width front and rear) on every trim and every year. No staggered MX-30 exists from the factory.
