Beyond the bolt pattern shift at 1999, the diameter range and width window also evolve across the Protege lineup. The 1990-1994 BG Protege is a small early 1990s sedan with a tight fender well. The MP3 measures with a 15 to 18 inch diameter window and a 6 to 7.5 inch width on the same 5x114.3 / 67.1mm hub spec as the rest of the BJ lineup. The 2002-2003 Protege 5 is the 5-door hatchback version of the BJ Protege, the small hatch that previewed what the first Mazda 3 hatchback would become two years later. The Protege 5 takes 16 to 18 inch diameters with a 6 to 7.5 inch width square.
