The Mercedes-Benz ML-Class Bolt Pattern

Every Mercedes-Benz ML-Class uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. That covers the W163 (1998-2005), W164 (2006-2011), W164 ML 63 AMG (2007-2011), W166 (2012-2015), and W166 ML 63 AMG (2012-2015). Lug bolts are M14x1.5 across the ML lineup. The 5x112 pattern is the universal modern Mercedes-Benz spec, shared with the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLC, GLS, and CLS sedan and SUV lineups. A wheel built for a contemporary C-Class will match the ML's lug positions and hub centering, though the ML carries different ride height, fender clearance, and tire diameter window than the sedan, so the wheel will sit differently.

The ML and the GLE share the same bolt pattern because they are the same vehicle under different badging. Mercedes renamed the M-Class lineup to GLE for the 2016 model year as part of a naming consolidation that aligned the SUV lineup with the GL prefix (GLA, GLC, GLE, GLS). The W166 chassis carried directly across the rename. A 2015 ML 350 and a 2016 GLE 350 are the same vehicle. Wheels that fit a W166 ML fit a W166 GLE SUV. Why ML Generation and Trim Determine Wheel Fit

The ML changed shape significantly across its three generations. The W163 (1998-2005) was the original boxier first-generation SUV with a typical aftermarket diameter window of 17 to 22 inch. The W164 (2006-2011) brought a more rounded body and stepped the typical aftermarket window up to 20 to 22 inch. The W166 (2012-2015) was the third-generation that ran until the 2016 GLE rename and accepts the widest range of 20 to 22 inch aftermarket sizes. All three generations run square fitment (matched front and rear wheels) in our catalog. Mercedes did not ship a staggered ML in any era.

The ML 63 AMG variants are the brake outliers in the lineup. The 2007-2011 W164 ML 63 AMG paired the 6.2L M156 V8 with a larger front brake package than the standard ML 350 or ML 550 of the same chassis. The 2012-2015 W166 ML 63 AMG carried that approach forward with the 5.5L M157 twin-turbo V8 and a similarly aggressive front brake package. Front brake is larger than rear on both ML 63 generations, which is standard on a performance SUV at this caliber. The practical implication: a wheel that clears a standard ML 350 W164 front caliper may not clear a W164 ML 63 AMG front caliper. We measure each combination as its own catalog row.

How We Confirm Fitment on Mercedes-Benz ML Wheels
