The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Bolt Pattern

Every modern S-Class uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. That covers the W220, W221, W222, W223, the C217 S-Class Coupe, and every S 63 AMG variant. Mercedes-Benz has held this pattern steady on the S-Class lineage longer than almost any other flagship sedan. Thread spec is M14x1.5 conical seat lug bolts. The S-Class uses lug bolts (not studs and nuts), which means you have to hold the wheel against the hub when installing and re-torque after 50 to 100 miles.

Where the S-Class differs from the E-Class on the same 5x112 pattern is mass and brake size. The S-Class is heavier, runs larger factory brakes from the W221 onward, and the AMG variants step that up again with steel and carbon-ceramic-brake (CCM) options on the W222 S 63. Why the AMG Brake Package Changes Wheel Buying

The base S-Class (S 450, S 500, S 550, S 560, S 580) carries a large standard brake from the factory with a wide aftermarket wheel window. The Sport package steps brake caliper height up and tightens the fitment slightly. The S 63 AMG changes the math entirely. S 63 ships factory staggered with wider rear wheels and larger calipers than the base car. On the W222 S 63 the brake package splits further into steel-brake and carbon-ceramic-brake (CCM) configurations, and the CCM caliper carries a different clearance window than the steel option on the same chassis. The 2024+ W223 S 63 AMG is a hybrid biturbo (not supercharged) and ships must-staggered from the factory.
