Mitsubishi Lancer Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Mitsubishi Lancer ran in the U.S. from 2002 through 2017 across the 8th and 9th generations. Element Wheels measures fitment on the Lancer across every trim and generation we have sold wheels for: the 8th gen Lancer ES (2003-2005), Lancer LS (2002-2007), Lancer OZ Rally (2002-2007), and Lancer Ralliart (2002-2006), then the 9th gen Lancer sedan and Sportback (2008-2017). The Lancer is one of the trickier Mitsubishis to shop wheels for because the bolt pattern changes by trim within the same generation. The 2003-2005 Lancer ES is the only 4x100 Lancer in our catalog. The 8th gen LS, OZ Rally, and Ralliart use 4x114.3. The 9th gen 2008-2017 Lancer moved to 5x114.3 across the board. Hub bore also shifts by trim: 56.1mm on the base ES/LS, 67.1mm on the OZ Rally, Ralliart, and the 2008-2017 generation. The Lancer Evolution (VIII, IX, and X) lives on its own dedicated parent hub because the Evo runs a meaningfully different aftermarket window. Pick the row that matches your trim and year below.

Find Your Mitsubishi Lancer Trim and Generation

Pick your trim and year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Lancer. The 8th gen Lancer (2002-2007) splits into three bolt patterns depending on trim, which is unusual for a single generation. The 9th gen Lancer (2008-2017) is consistent on 5x114.3 across the lineup. The Lancer Evolution lives on a separate hub.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Bolt Pattern

The Lancer is the rare car where bolt pattern depends on trim within the same generation. The 2003-2005 Lancer ES is the only 4x100 Lancer in our catalog. The 2002-2007 Lancer LS and OZ Rally run 4x114.3 (also written 4x4.5 imperial, because 114.3mm = 4.5 inches exactly). The 2002-2006 Lancer Ralliart runs 4x114.3 on the same 4 lug Mitsubishi spec. The 9th gen 2008-2017 Lancer moved the entire lineup to 5x114.3 (5x4.5 imperial). The pattern stayed 5x114.3 through the end of U.S. production in 2017.

Hub bore is the second variable that changes by trim. The base 2002-2007 ES and LS run a 56.1mm hub bore. The OZ Rally, Ralliart, and the 9th gen 2008-2017 Lancer move up to a 67.1mm hub bore, which is the long running Mitsubishi platform spec also used on the Eclipse, the Galant, the Outlander, the 3000GT, and the Evolution. Lug thread is M12x1.5 across every Lancer trim and year. Important distinction: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115. The two patterns sit only about 0.7mm apart and look interchangeable on a spec sheet, but running a 5x115 wheel on a 5x114.3 hub stresses the wheel studs and is a safety concern. The 9th gen Lancer is 5x114.3 specifically.

The Lancer Evolution lives on a separate hub. The Evo VIII, IX, and X all run 5x114.3 on a 67.1mm hub bore but the aftermarket window is wider and lower offset because the Evo runs deeper concave fitments off the showroom. See the Lancer Evolution wheels and rims hub for the Evo catalog. Compare across the rest of the Mitsubishi lineup at our Mitsubishi wheels and rims hub.

Trim Differences Across the Mitsubishi Lancer

The 8th gen Lancer (2002-2007) has five fitment rows because Mitsubishi varied the bolt pattern, hub bore, and rolling stock across trims. The 9th gen Lancer (2008-2017) consolidated to one wheel interface across the lineup. Square fitment (same diameter and width front and rear) is the default across every Lancer trim, which makes wheel shopping straightforward once you have the right trim row.

Lancers buy custom wheels for two reasons. Looks first, especially on the 9th gen which gets paired with the aggressive Lancer Evolution body language even on the base sedan. Performance second, where the move is usually a wider, lighter wheel that improves steering response. Stagger is not the move on the Lancer. The car is front wheel drive on most trims and built for square fitment.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Mitsubishi Lancer

  • 2002-2007 Lancer LS: 4x114.3 bolt pattern, 56.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 4 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 14-18 inch. Aftermarket width range: 6-7.5 inch, square fitment.
  • 2002-2007 Lancer OZ Rally: 4x114.3 bolt pattern, 67.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 4 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 15-18 inch. Aftermarket width range: 6-7.5 inch, square fitment.

  • 2008-2017 Lancer (9th gen sedan and Sportback): 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 67.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 6-8.5 inch, square fitment.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Lancer (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the Lancer wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Mitsubishi Lancer Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the Lancer directly across every trim row in our catalog. For the Lancer that means hub bore confirmation at 56.1mm on the base ES and LS or 67.1mm on the OZ Rally, Ralliart, and 9th gen, clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the front strut, brake caliper height at the standard Mitsubishi spec, lug seat depth, and lug thread confirmation at M12x1.5. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull these from manufacturer spec sheets the way most retailers do.

Mitsubishi Lancer Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Mitsubishi Lancer?

It depends on which Lancer you have. The 2003-2005 Lancer ES is on 4x100. The 2002-2007 Lancer LS, OZ Rally, and the 2002-2006 Ralliart are on 4x114.3 with 4 lugs. The 2008-2017 9th gen Lancer is on 5x114.3 with 5 lugs. The Lancer Evolution (VIII, IX, X) is also on 5x114.3 with 5 lugs and lives on a separate hub.

Why does my 2003 Lancer ES have a different bolt pattern than my friend's 2003 Lancer LS?

The 2003-2005 Lancer ES is the only Lancer that uses 4x100. Every other 8th gen Lancer trim (LS, OZ Rally, Ralliart) is on 4x114.3. The two patterns are not interchangeable. They look similar on a spec sheet (both 4 lug, both around 100mm to 114mm pitch circle) but wheels built for one will not bolt to the other. If you have an ES specifically, confirm the trim on your title or registration before ordering wheels.

What is the hub bore on a Mitsubishi Lancer?

56.1mm on the 2002-2007 Lancer ES and LS. 67.1mm on the 2002-2007 OZ Rally, the 2002-2006 Ralliart, and the entire 2008-2017 9th gen Lancer. 67.1mm is the long running Mitsubishi platform hub bore also used on the Eclipse, Galant, Outlander, 3000GT, and Lancer Evolution. If your aftermarket wheel has a larger centerbore than your Lancer's hub bore, hub centric rings step down to the correct fit. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

Can I fit Lancer Evolution wheels on a regular 9th gen Lancer?

The bolt pattern matches. Both the 9th gen Lancer (2008-2017) and the Evo X (2008-2015) run 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 thread. What does not match is the offset and width window. The Evo runs aggressive low offset wheels that sit closer to the fender because the Evo has wider front fenders and bigger brakes. A factory Evo wheel will fit a regular Lancer mechanically, but it will sit deeper inside the fender than designed because the regular Lancer chassis is narrower. Wheels designed for the regular 9th gen Lancer (16-20 inch, 6-8.5 inch wide) are the right fit for that car. See our Lancer Evolution hub for the Evo specific window.

Is 5x114.3 the same as 5x115?

No. 5x114.3 and 5x115 are distinct bolt patterns. They sit only about 0.7mm apart on the hub circle, close enough to look interchangeable on a spec sheet but far enough that running a 5x115 wheel on a 5x114.3 hub will stress the studs and is a safety concern. The 9th gen Lancer is 5x114.3 specifically. 5x4.5 imperial = 5x114.3 only.

Is the Mitsubishi Lancer discontinued?

Yes. Mitsubishi ended U.S. Lancer production at the close of the 2017 model year. The Lancer Evolution X had already ended a model year earlier in 2015. Our catalog continues to support the 2002-2017 Lancer indefinitely.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Mitsubishi Lancer?

20 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on the 2008-2017 9th gen Lancer. The 8th gen Lancer (2002-2007) tops out at 18 inch in our catalog because the chassis is narrower and the suspension travel doesn't accommodate a 19 or 20 inch wheel without ride quality drop. 17 to 18 inch is the most common 8th gen aftermarket choice. 18 to 19 inch is the most common 9th gen aftermarket choice.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Mitsubishi Lancer?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the Lancer's factory hub bore. That's 56.1mm on the base ES and LS, 67.1mm on the OZ Rally, Ralliart, and 9th gen. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
