Porsche Taycan Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Porsche Taycan is Porsche's first electric production car, a four-door sedan that has been in production since 2020 and that anchors the brand's modern EV lineup. Element Wheels measures fitment on the Taycan across three configurations: the Base, 4S, GTS, and Turbo trims with steel or PSCB brakes; the same Base, 4S, GTS, and Turbo trims when ordered with carbon-ceramic brakes; and the Turbo S, which ships only with carbon ceramics. Bolt pattern is constant. Every Taycan uses 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore and the M14x1.5 lug bolts that Porsche has run on its modern platform (Porsche uses bolts, not studs and nuts, and the Taycan is no exception). What changes between the configurations is the brake hardware behind the wheel and the diameter window that hardware allows. Steel and PSCB trims accept 20 to 22 inch diameters; carbon-ceramic trims start at 21 inch because the larger ceramic caliper does not clear a 20 inch wheel. The Taycan is also must-staggered across every trim, with a wider rear wheel than front. Front brake is larger than rear on every Taycan, which is normal on a performance sedan that weighs over 5,000 pounds and carries up to 750 horsepower in Turbo S form. Pick your trim and brake configuration below for the fitment specs.

Find Your Porsche Taycan Trim and Brake Package

Pick your trim and brake package to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Taycan. Bolt pattern is constant at 5x130 / 71.6mm across every Taycan. The brake package is the variable: a Taycan ordered with carbon-ceramic brakes does not clear a 20 inch wheel, where a Taycan with steel or PSCB brakes does. The Turbo S only ships with carbon ceramics and runs the widest rear wheel of any Taycan trim.

The Porsche Taycan Bolt Pattern

Every Porsche Taycan runs 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore. That holds across the Base, 4S, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S trims, both sedan and Cross Turismo wagon body styles, and across every model year from the 2020 launch through the current production. Lug hardware is M14x1.5 bolts; Porsche runs bolts that thread directly into the hub rather than the stud-and-nut setup most American and Asian cars use. That bolt configuration changes how you torque the wheel to spec and how you mount a wheel that needs a hub-centric ring, but it does not change which aftermarket wheels fit.

The 5x130 / 71.6mm hub is the Porsche flagship pattern, shared with the modern Cayenne, Panamera, and the 5-lug 911 Carrera trims, and also with the Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT that share the J1 EV platform with the Taycan. Wheels bolt across all of those platforms; offset and brake clearance windows do not match between them, so we measure Taycan fitments separately even when the bolt math crosses. Compare across the rest of the Porsche lineup at our Porsche wheels and rims hub.

Why the Brake Package Sets the Wheel Diameter Floor

The Taycan is a high-mass, high-power performance EV with a front brake larger than rear on every trim. That front-larger-than-rear configuration is normal on a performance car of this caliber; the front axle does the majority of the braking work and Porsche scales the front rotor and caliper accordingly. The aftermarket window respects the front brake size, and the front brake size depends on which package the customer ordered.

Steel and PSCB (Porsche Surface Coated Brake) trims accept a 20 to 22 inch diameter wheel. The steel rotor and PSCB tungsten-carbide-coated rotor are dimensionally similar enough that the same wheel windows apply to both. Carbon-ceramic-brake trims (PCCB, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake) carry a larger front caliper that does not clear a 20 inch wheel, so the diameter floor steps up to 21 inch. The Turbo S only ships with carbon ceramics, which is why it carries the same 21 inch diameter floor and runs the widest rear wheel in the lineup. On the steel/PSCB trims, the published front-tire option includes a 285-section tire that needs a high-offset front wheel to clear without rubbing; the Year/Make/Model search filters for that constraint automatically when you select a steel-brake Taycan running the wider front tire.

Every Taycan trim is must-staggered. Square setups (same wheel and tire on every corner) are not on the menu; the chassis is engineered around a wider rear wheel and tire than front, and Porsche specs the factory wheels accordingly. Cross Turismo wagons run the same fitment windows as their sedan counterparts.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Porsche Taycan

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Taycan brake-package splits:

  • Taycan Base / 4S / GTS / Turbo, Steel or PSCB Brakes (2020 and up): 5x130 bolt pattern, 71.6mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 20-22 inch. Aftermarket width: 9-9.5 inch front, 10.5-12 inch rear. Must-staggered. Front brake larger than rear. High-offset front wheel required when running the optional 285-section front tire.
  • Taycan Base / 4S / GTS / Turbo, Carbon-Ceramic Brakes (2020 and up): 5x130 bolt pattern, 71.6mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 21-22 inch. Aftermarket width: 9-9.5 inch front, 10.5-12 inch rear. Must-staggered. Front brake larger than rear; carbon-ceramic caliper requires the 21 inch diameter floor.
  • Taycan Turbo S, Carbon-Ceramic Brakes (2020 and up): 5x130 bolt pattern, 71.6mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 21-22 inch. Aftermarket width: 9-9.5 inch front, 11-12 inch rear. Must-staggered. Front brake larger than rear; rear wheel widest in the Taycan lineup to handle the 750 horsepower output.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Taycan (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the Taycan wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.

How We Confirm Fitment on Porsche Taycan Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every Taycan trim and every brake-package variant since the 2020 launch. For the Taycan that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, front brake caliper height in three different brake configurations (steel, PSCB, and carbon ceramic), hub bore confirmation at 71.6mm, lug bolt thread engagement depth, and front tire clearance with the 285-section optional front tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

That measurement work is what produced the brake-package-specific diameter floors on this page, including the 21 inch minimum on the carbon-ceramic trims and the high-offset-front-wheel constraint on the 285-tire steel-brake setup.

Porsche Taycan Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Porsche Taycan?

Every Porsche Taycan uses 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore. That holds across the Base, 4S, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S trims, and across both the sedan and Cross Turismo wagon body styles, from the 2020 launch through current production. Lug hardware is M14x1.5 bolts that thread directly into the hub.

Steel, PSCB, and carbon-ceramic brakes: what changes for wheels?

Bolt pattern (5x130) and hub bore (71.6mm) match across all three brake packages. Diameter floor changes. Steel and PSCB (Porsche Surface Coated Brake, the tungsten-carbide-coated steel rotor) trims accept a 20 to 22 inch wheel. Carbon-ceramic (PCCB) trims carry a larger front caliper that does not clear a 20 inch wheel, so the floor steps up to 21 inch. Width windows match across the brake packages on the Base, 4S, GTS, and Turbo; the Turbo S runs an 11 to 12 inch rear instead of 10.5 to 12. All three are must-staggered with the front brake larger than rear.

Why does the carbon-ceramic Taycan need a 21 inch wheel minimum?

The carbon-ceramic front caliper is physically larger than the steel or PSCB front caliper on the Taycan. A 20 inch wheel does not have enough inner-barrel clearance for that larger caliper on the front axle. Stepping up to 21 inch (or 22 inch) gives the spoke profile and the inner barrel enough room to clear the caliper without contact. Porsche made the same engineering call from the factory: carbon-ceramic Taycans were never offered with a 20 inch factory wheel.

Are Porsche Taycan wheels staggered?

Yes, every trim. The Taycan is must-staggered. Porsche specs a wider rear wheel and tire than front on every Taycan, typically a 9 to 9.5 inch front paired with a 10.5 to 12 inch rear (11 to 12 inch on the Turbo S). Square setups are not on the menu. The chassis is engineered around the staggered geometry and the AWD power split delivers more rear torque on every trim, which the wider rear tire is sized to put down.

Do Taycan Cross Turismo wagons run the same fitment as the sedan?

Yes. The Cross Turismo is a body-style variant on the same J1 EV chassis as the sedan and runs the same 5x130 / 71.6mm bolt pattern, the same brake-package splits, and the same diameter and width windows. A wheel that fits a Taycan 4S sedan with steel brakes fits a Taycan 4S Cross Turismo with steel brakes. The wagon body raises the ride height slightly on the Cross Turismo trims, but that affects fender clearance margin, not the published wheel fitment window.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Taycan?

Our measured aftermarket window tops at 22 inch diameter on every Taycan trim and brake package. Above 22 inch the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality, range, and pothole risk all get worse on a 5,000+ pound EV sedan. Most aftermarket Taycan builds land at 21 or 22 inch, with 22 inch being common on the Turbo and Turbo S for the aggressive visual stance.

Do Cayenne, Panamera, or 911 wheels fit a Taycan?

Bolt pattern crosses. The Taycan shares 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore with the modern Cayenne, Panamera, and the 5-lug 911 Carrera trims, and also with the Audi e-tron GT (the Audi cousin on the same J1 EV platform). The wheels bolt to the same hub. Brake clearance, fender clearance, and offset windows differ between those platforms, so a Cayenne wheel that fits a Cayenne nicely can rub the Taycan fender or sit too deep on the Taycan caliper. The wheels physically mount; the build is not guaranteed to fit cleanly. Use the Year/Make/Model search to confirm a specific wheel was fit-tested on the Taycan.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Porsche Taycan?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 71.6mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
