Saturn SC-Series Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Saturn SC-Series is Saturn's original small coupe, the two-door body style in the S-Series lineup that ran from 1991 through 2002. Element Wheels measures fitment on the 1991-2002 SC across the SC1 and SC2 trims and both the original two-door body and the 1999-2002 three-door body. Every SC in that range shares the same hub: 4x100 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 4 lugs. The SC diameter window we measure runs 15 to 18 inch. Pick the catalog row below.
Find Your Saturn SC-Series Generation
The 1991-2002 SC-Series is Saturn's original coupe. The first generation SC ran 1991-1996. The second generation SC1 and SC2 ran 1997-2002, and the 1999-2002 SC added a rear-hinged third door on the driver side (the Saturn three-door coupe body that predated the Ion Quad Coupe). Every SC across both generations and both body styles shares the same 4x100 4-lug hub.
The Saturn SC-Series Bolt Pattern
The 1991-2002 SC uses a 4x100 bolt pattern with a 57.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread on a 4-lug hub. 4x100 is the dominant small front wheel drive pattern of the 1990s and early 2000s compact category. The SC1 sohc trim, the SC2 dohc sport trim, the 1991-1996 first generation body, and the 1997-2002 second generation body (including the 1999-2002 three-door body with the rear-hinged driver side door) all share the same 4x100 4-lug hub.
Important distinction: 4x100 is a different bolt pattern from 4x114.3 and the two are not interchangeable. The two sit about 14.3mm apart on the hub circle and a 4x114.3 wheel will not start on a 4x100 hub. Also, the later Saturn Ion Red Line (2005-2007) and the Saturn Astra (2008-2009) moved up to a 5-lug 5x110 hub, so SC wheels do not cross over to those Saturns. The SC stays 4-lug 4x100 across its entire 1991-2002 production. Confirm any wheel listing says 4x100 before ordering. Compare across the rest of the Saturn lineup at our Saturn wheels and rims hub.
SC-Series Trim Differences and Measured Fitment
The SC-Series keeps the same hub geometry across every trim and model year. SC1, SC2, first generation (1991-1996), and second generation (1997-2002) all share the same 4x100 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, and brake package on the catalog. The SC2 carries the larger 1.9L DOHC engine over the SC1's 1.9L SOHC and ships on the slightly larger factory wheel, but the fitment geometry stays the same. A wheel that fits a 1998 SC1 also fits a 1998 SC2. The 1999-2002 three-door coupe shares the same hub spec as the standard two-door SC of the same year.
The diameter window we measure runs 15 inch on the low end up to 18 inch on the show-build end. 15 to 16 inch is the most common SC aftermarket choice and matches the factory size on most SC1 and SC2 trims. 17 inch is the popular upsize that fills the fender without overwhelming the SC's small body. 18 inch is the show-build top of the range. Above 18 inch the tire sidewall thins sharply on the SC's compact body and the suspension geometry was never tuned to absorb the bigger wheel, so 18 inch is our top recommendation.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Saturn SC-Series
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the SC-Series lineup we cover:
- 1991-2002 SC-Series (SC1, SC2, both two-door and 1999-2002 three-door): 4x100 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 4 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 15-18 inch. Aftermarket width range: 5.5-7.5 inch. Same brake size front and rear across every trim.
For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific SC (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the SC-Series wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on Saturn SC-Series Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the SC directly, across SC1 and SC2 and both the two-door and three-door bodies. For the SC that means hub bore confirmation at 57.1mm, clearance from the wheel to the fender on the SC's compact coupe body, gap between the back of the wheel and the strut on this front wheel drive layout, brake caliper height at the factory spec, lug seat depth on the 4-lug pattern, and lug thread confirmation at M12x1.5. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. The SC is the Saturn coupe in the S-Series family with the SL sedan and SW wagon, so a wheel proven on a Saturn S-Series sedan or wagon gives us a starting point on the SC, but the coupe body has its own fender geometry and we verify each body on its own.
Saturn SC-Series Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Saturn SC-Series?
The 1991-2002 Saturn SC-Series uses a 4x100 bolt pattern with a 57.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. Every trim and body across the production run (SC1, SC2, two-door, 1999-2002 three-door) shares the same 4-lug hub geometry.
Does the SC2 take different wheels than the SC1?
Same 4x100 bolt pattern, same 57.1mm hub bore, same M12x1.5 lug thread, same brake package as the SC1 of the same model year. The SC2 carries the 1.9L DOHC engine over the SC1's 1.9L SOHC and ships on the slightly larger factory wheel, but the fitment geometry stays the same. A wheel that fits a 1998 SC1 also fits a 1998 SC2.
Does the 1999-2002 three-door SC take different wheels than the standard two-door?
No. The 1999-2002 three-door SC body added a rear-hinged door on the driver side without changing the chassis hub. Same 4x100 bolt pattern, same 57.1mm hub bore, same M12x1.5 lug thread, same brake package as the two-door SC of the same year. The third door is a body change, not a hub or fitment change.
Will Saturn SL or SW wheels fit a Saturn SC?
Yes, on hub. The SL sedan and SW wagon are the other body styles in the same Saturn S-Series family as the SC coupe and share the 4x100 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore, and M12x1.5 lug thread for the 1991-2002 production run. A wheel that fits a same-year SL or SW fits the SC on the hub. The body styles differ in fender geometry, so width and offset windows are measured per body before listing.
Is 4x100 the same as 4x114.3?
No. 4x100 and 4x114.3 are different bolt patterns and sit about 14.3mm apart on the hub circle. A 4x114.3 wheel will not start on a 4x100 SC hub. The 4x4.5 imperial nickname refers only to 4x114.3 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inch) and does not apply to the SC. Confirm any wheel listing says 4x100 before ordering.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Saturn SC?
18 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on the 1991-2002 SC. The factory wheel range was 14 to 15 inch depending on trim and year. 16 to 17 inch is the most common SC aftermarket upgrade and fills the fender without overwhelming the compact body. 18 inch is the show-build top of the range. Above 18 inch the tire sidewall thins sharply on the SC body and the suspension geometry was never tuned to absorb a larger wheel.
Is the Saturn SC-Series discontinued?
Yes. The SC was discontinued after the 2002 model year when Saturn replaced the S-Series lineup with the Ion. The Ion Quad Coupe carried the rear-hinged three-door layout forward for 2003-2007. Our catalog continues to support the 1991-2002 SC indefinitely.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Saturn SC?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the SC's 57.1mm factory hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
