Toyota bZ4X Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Toyota bZ4X is Toyota's first dedicated battery electric vehicle for the global market, launched for the 2023 model year. It is built on the e-TNGA architecture, a chassis purpose-built for electric drivetrains rather than adapted from an existing combustion platform. The bZ4X shares this architecture with two siblings, the Subaru Solterra (a co-developed rebadged twin) and the Lexus RZ (the premium version on the same chassis). Every bZ4X runs 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. The lug thread is M14x1.5, which is larger than the M12x1.5 thread used across the rest of the Toyota crossover lineup. Element Wheels measures the bZ4X directly and publishes an 18-22 inch aftermarket diameter window with square (matched front and rear) widths in the 7.5-8.5 inch range. Pick your trim below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific bZ4X.

Find Your Toyota bZ4X

Toyota launched the bZ4X for the 2023 model year on the e-TNGA architecture. The lineup includes a single-motor front-wheel-drive trim and a twin-motor all-wheel-drive trim. The bolt pattern is 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore on every bZ4X, and the lug thread is M14x1.5 (larger than the typical Toyota M12x1.5).

The Toyota bZ4X Bolt Pattern and Lug Thread

Every Toyota bZ4X uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. The pattern is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial because 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches exactly. 5x4.5 refers ONLY to 5x114.3. It does NOT refer to 5x115, which is a different bolt pattern used on Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, and similar American sedans. The two patterns sit about 0.7mm apart on the bolt circle and are not interchangeable. A 5x115 wheel will not bolt onto a bZ4X.

The bZ4X also uses a larger lug thread than the rest of the Toyota crossover lineup. Most Toyota cars and crossovers (Camry, RAV4, Sienna, Highlander, Avalon, C-HR, Corolla Cross) use M12x1.5 lug studs. The bZ4X uses M14x1.5, which matches the platform mates (Subaru Solterra and Lexus RZ) on the e-TNGA architecture. The thicker stud carries more clamping force for the heavier all-electric platform. If you are reusing aftermarket lug nuts from a previous Toyota or sourcing locks separately, you need M14x1.5 conical or ball seat hardware, not M12x1.5. Lug nuts sized for M12 will not thread onto M14 studs. We supply the right hardware on every bZ4X wheel order if you need it.

The 5x114.3 / 60.1mm hub spec is the Toyota family hub spec, shared with the Camry, RAV4, Sienna, Highlander, Avalon, and most modern Toyota cars and crossovers. The hub geometry on the bZ4X matches them at the bolt circle and hub bore. The lug thread is where the bZ4X (and the Solterra and the RZ) diverges. A wheel listed for a 5x114.3 / 60.1mm Toyota will physically bolt to a bZ4X using the right M14x1.5 hardware, but the fitment window (offset, brake clearance, fender room) is platform-specific to the e-TNGA architecture. We measure the bZ4X separately. Compare across the rest of the Toyota lineup at our Toyota wheels and rims hub.

Same e-TNGA Platform as the Subaru Solterra and Lexus RZ

Under the body, the bZ4X is built on Toyota's e-TNGA architecture, a dedicated battery electric vehicle platform that Toyota engineered specifically for EVs. The same e-TNGA floor sits under the Subaru Solterra and the Lexus RZ. The Solterra is a co-developed rebadged twin of the bZ4X, sharing production and most mechanical hardware including the dual motor AWD drivetrain. The Lexus RZ is the premium version on the same chassis, with twin motor AWD standard and Lexus-specific suspension tuning. All three cars are mechanically related at the platform level, including the 5x114.3 bolt pattern, the 60.1mm hub bore, and the M14x1.5 lug thread.

Practical implication. A wheel cataloged for the Subaru Solterra or the Lexus RZ matches the bZ4X at the bolt math, the hub bore, and the lug thread. Width and offset still need to be checked against the bZ4X specifically because each brand tuned the ride height and the fender clearance differently. The Solterra runs a slightly more rugged stance for Subaru's off-road audience. The RZ tunes for a more premium ride. The bZ4X sits between them.

The other bZ4X-specific consideration is the EV drivetrain itself. With a battery pack mounted in the floor and either a single motor (FWD trim) or twin motors (AWD trim), unsprung weight at the wheel matters more on the bZ4X than on a comparable combustion crossover. Lighter aftermarket wheels translate more directly into range gains because the motors are not fighting rotational inertia at every acceleration cycle. Factory bZ4X wheels already trend toward lighter alloy construction for this reason. When you choose an aftermarket wheel, weight is one of the variables worth checking alongside the visual and fitment specs.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Toyota bZ4X

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the bZ4X lineup:

  • Toyota bZ4X (2023 and up): 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 60.1mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug thread (NOT M12x1.5). Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7.5-8.5 inch front and rear. Square setup (same width front and rear). Front and rear brake matched in size. FWD single motor and AWD twin motor trims share the same hub spec.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific bZ4X (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the bZ4X wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Toyota bZ4X Wheels

Element Wheels measures the bZ4X directly. For the bZ4X that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation, lug seat geometry, lug thread confirmation (M14x1.5 on this platform, not M12x1.5 like the rest of the Toyota lineup), and turning clearance at full lock. We treat the bZ4X as its own platform separate from the Solterra and the RZ because each brand tuned the suspension geometry and fender opening differently on the shared e-TNGA chassis. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Toyota bZ4X Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Toyota bZ4X?

5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore on every bZ4X (2023 and up). The pattern is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial (114.3mm = 4.5 inches). Lug count is 5. Lug thread is M14x1.5, which is larger than the M12x1.5 used on the rest of the Toyota crossover lineup. Same hub bore and bolt circle as the Camry, RAV4, Sienna, and the broader Toyota family.

Why does the bZ4X use M14x1.5 lug studs instead of M12x1.5?

The bZ4X is a heavier vehicle than a comparable combustion crossover because of the battery pack. The larger M14x1.5 stud carries more clamping force, which helps keep the wheel seated under the higher mass and the instant electric torque. The bZ4X shares this lug spec with its platform mates, the Subaru Solterra and the Lexus RZ, both also on the e-TNGA architecture. If you are reusing aftermarket lug hardware from a previous Toyota, you need M14x1.5 hardware, not M12x1.5. We supply the right hardware on every bZ4X wheel order if you need it.

Will Subaru Solterra or Lexus RZ wheels fit my bZ4X?

Yes at the hub level. The bZ4X, the Subaru Solterra, and the Lexus RZ all share the e-TNGA platform with the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 60.1mm hub bore, and M14x1.5 lug thread. A wheel cataloged for any of the three will physically bolt to the bZ4X. Width and offset still need to be confirmed against the bZ4X specifically because each brand tuned the ride height and fender clearance differently. The Solterra runs slightly more rugged stance, the RZ tunes for premium ride, the bZ4X sits between them. We measure each of the three platforms separately.

Will RAV4 wheels fit my bZ4X?

The bolt pattern and the hub bore match (5x114.3 / 60.1mm on both), but the lug thread is different. The RAV4 uses M12x1.5 lug studs. The bZ4X uses M14x1.5. A RAV4 factory wheel will sit on the bZ4X hub at the bolt circle, but the bZ4X studs are too large to thread RAV4 lug nuts onto. You would need M14x1.5 lug nuts to mount RAV4 wheels on the bZ4X. The fender opening and the ride height also differ between the two crossovers, so even with the right hardware we'd want to measure offset before recommending a RAV4 wheel on a bZ4X.

Are Toyota bZ4X wheels staggered?

No. Every bZ4X runs square (same width front and rear) from the factory. The bZ4X is front-wheel-drive single-motor on the base trim or all-wheel-drive twin-motor on the AWD trim. Both layouts require matched front and rear wheels. The AWD trim in particular needs matched circumference at all four corners to keep the front and rear motors in sync, the same constraint that applies to combustion AWD systems. Same wheel spec works on all four corners.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a bZ4X?

Our measured aftermarket window tops at 22 inch on the bZ4X. Factory bZ4X wheels are 18 or 20 inch depending on trim. 19-20 inch is the most common bZ4X aftermarket size for daily driving. Going to 22 inch trades sidewall for visual impact. On an electric crossover, the unsprung weight gain at 22 inch costs measurable range, so we recommend checking the weight spec on the wheel and matching the tire to a lower rolling resistance compound if range matters to you.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Toyota bZ4X?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the factory 60.1mm hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

How do I find the right wheels for my specific Toyota bZ4X?

Two steps. Confirm your model year (2023 and up) and decide between FWD single motor or AWD twin motor (both share the same wheel spec). Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific bZ4X (each listing shows its own offset) and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. If you are reusing aftermarket lug hardware from a previous car, confirm it is M14x1.5, not M12x1.5. If you want to confirm offset and clearance before ordering, contact our team for a free fitment consultation. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
