The Toyota Highlander Bolt Pattern

Every Toyota Highlander built since the platform launched in 2001 uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. That covers the XU20 (2002-2007), the XU40 (2008-2013), the XU50 (2014-2019), and the current XU70 (2020 and up). The pattern is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial; 5x4.5 refers ONLY to 5x114.3 (114.3mm = 4.5 inches). It does NOT refer to 5x115, which is a different bolt pattern used on Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, and similar American sedans. The two patterns sit about 0.7mm apart and are not interchangeable. A 5x115 wheel will not bolt onto a Highlander.

The 5x114.3 / 60.1mm combination is the Toyota family hub spec. It is shared with the Camry, RAV4, Sienna, Avalon, and most modern Toyota cars and crossovers. Wheels listed for any 5x114.3 / 60.1mm Toyota physically bolt to the Highlander on hub geometry. What changes between platforms is the offset window, the brake clearance, and the fender room, so a wheel built for a Camry will not always sit correctly on a Highlander even though the bolt math matches. We measure each platform separately. One thing worth flagging for shoppers: the Toyota Grand Highlander (2024 and up) is a SEPARATE platform with a different bolt pattern (5x120). Highlander Trim Differences That Matter for Wheel Fitment

Most Highlander trims share the same fitment window within a generation. LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum on a given XU40, XU50, or XU70 all use 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore and run square (same width front and rear). The Highlander has been a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive crossover across every generation, never rear-wheel-drive, and the AWD trims share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and aftermarket wheel diameter window as the front-wheel-drive trims of the same year. Drivetrain is not a fitment-box axis on the Highlander.

The Highlander Hybrid has been available since the XU20 era (2006 launch) and is offered on every generation since. The hybrid powertrain shares the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and fitment window as the gasoline Highlander of the same generation and trim. The added battery weight does not change wheel fitment. A wheel that fits a gasoline XU50 Limited fits a hybrid XU50 Limited. The Highlander XSE and Sport trims on the XU70 run a sport-appearance package with revised exterior trim and unique wheel design. Bolt pattern, hub bore, and brake package match the rest of the XU70 range per our catalog data, so the bolt-on fitment math is the same as a base LE or XLE.
