The Toyota RAV4 Bolt Pattern

Every Toyota RAV4 built since the platform launched in 1995 uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. That covers the XA10 (1995-2000), the XA20 (2001-2005), the XA30 (2006-2012), the XA40 (2013-2018), and the current XA50 (2019 and up). The pattern is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial; 5x4.5 refers ONLY to 5x114.3 (114.3mm = 4.5 inches). It does NOT refer to 5x115, which is a different bolt pattern used on Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, and similar American sedans. The two patterns sit about 0.7mm apart and are not interchangeable. A 5x115 wheel will not bolt onto a RAV4.

The 5x114.3 / 60.1mm combination is the Toyota family hub spec. It is shared with the Camry, Sienna, Highlander, Avalon, and most modern Toyota cars and crossovers. Wheels listed for any 5x114.3 / 60.1mm Toyota physically bolt to the RAV4 on hub geometry. What changes between platforms is the offset window, the brake clearance, and the fender room, so a wheel built for a Camry will not always sit correctly on a RAV4 even though the bolt math matches. RAV4 Trim Differences That Matter for Wheel Fitment

Most RAV4 trims share the same fitment window within a generation. LE, XLE, Limited, and Adventure on a given XA40 or XA50 all use 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore and run square (same width front and rear). The RAV4 has been a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive crossover across every generation, never rear-wheel-drive, and the AWD trims share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and aftermarket wheel diameter window as the front-wheel-drive trims of the same year. Drivetrain is not a fitment-box axis on the RAV4.

The RAV4 Hybrid has been mainstream since the XA50 (2019 launch) and was available in limited markets on the late XA40. The hybrid powertrain shares the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and fitment window as the gasoline RAV4 of the same generation and trim. The added battery weight does not change wheel fitment. A wheel that fits a gasoline XA50 XLE fits a hybrid XA50 XLE. Where the RAV4 fitment box actually changes is on the Overland side. Builders running a 1-2 inch lift with 32-33 inch all-terrain tires want a lower offset (a wheel that sits further out from the hub mounting surface) to keep the larger tire from rubbing the inner fender. Our Overland fitment leaves on the XA30, XA40, and XA50 capture that. Stock-height RAV4 builds stay in the standard offset window, and lifted RAV4 builds move to the Overland window. We treat the two as separate fitment rows because the wheel that works for stock height does not always work for a lifted truck.

How We Confirm Fitment on Toyota RAV4 Wheels

For the RAV4 that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation, lug seat geometry, and turning clearance at full lock. On the Overland leaves, we also measure clearance to the lift hardware and confirm the wheel inset that lets the taller all-terrain tire sit inside the fender without rubbing under suspension travel.
