Volkswagen Arteon Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Volkswagen Arteon is the flagship 4-door fastback sedan VW sold in North America from the 2019 model year through 2023. The Arteon replaced the CC and sat above the Passat as the top of the VW passenger lineup. Element Wheels measures the Arteon on the MQB Evo platform, the same chassis architecture as the Mk7.5 and Mk8 Golf, the current Tiguan, and the Atlas. Bolt pattern is 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts. Those specs cover every Arteon trim from the base SE through the SEL Premium R-Line and the higher-output Arteon R that arrived for the 2022 and 2023 model years. The Arteon was discontinued in North America after the 2023 model year, so the 2019-2023 range is the closed lineup we track. Pick your generation below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific car.
Find Your Volkswagen Arteon Generation
The Arteon ran a single generation in North America. Bolt pattern is 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts on every Arteon from 2019 through 2023. The base SE, the SEL R-Line, the SEL Premium R-Line, and the Arteon R all share the same chassis spec and the same aftermarket fitment box.
The Volkswagen Arteon Bolt Pattern
Every Arteon (2019-2023) uses 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts. The 5x112 / 57.1mm spec matches the rest of the modern Volkswagen passenger lineup (Jetta, Golf, GTI, Tiguan, Atlas, late-model Passat) and the smaller Audi cars (A3). The wheels bolt to the same hub. The 5x112 pattern is shared more broadly with the modern MLB Evo Audi SUVs (Audi Q7 4M, Q8) and the modern C-chassis Audi sedans (A6, A7, A8 from the C7 forward), but those vehicles run a larger 66.56mm hub bore. A 5x112 wheel from a Q7 will line up with the Arteon lug holes, but the hub bore is too large to sit hub-centric without rings, and the offset is sized for a much larger fender opening. The Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg run 5x130 entirely, a different bolt pattern, and those wheels do not bolt to an Arteon at all.
VW runs lug bolts on the Arteon, not studs and nuts the way most American and Asian sedans do. The lug bolt threads directly into the hub, the wheel sits between the head of the bolt and the hub face, and there is no fixed lug stud to align the wheel before tightening. This makes a hub-centric fit more important on the Arteon than on a stud-and-nut sedan. A wheel bored to 57.1mm sits hub-centric. Compare across the rest of the Volkswagen lineup at our Volkswagen wheels and rims hub.
Why Trim and the R Variant Share the Same Arteon Fitment Box
The Arteon ran across SE, SEL R-Line, and SEL Premium R-Line trims in North America from 2019 through 2023, with the higher-output Arteon R arriving for the 2022 and 2023 model years. Bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug bolt spec are identical across every trim and the R. The Arteon R is the AWD performance variant with more power and a sport-tuned chassis, but it runs the same 5x112 / 57.1mm hub spec and lives inside the same aftermarket fitment window as the rest of the Arteon lineup. R-Line is the appearance and styling package on SE and SEL chassis. R-Line trims do not have different wheel specs than the matching SE or SEL.
The Arteon sits on the MQB Evo platform, the same chassis architecture as the Mk7.5 and Mk8 Golf, the current Tiguan, and the second-generation Atlas. MQB Evo is VW's modular passenger platform from the 2018 model year forward. Wheel hub geometry is shared across the entire MQB Evo lineup. Bolt pattern (5x112), hub bore (57.1mm), and lug bolt spec (M14x1.5) are the same on every MQB Evo car. Drivetrain on the Arteon is front wheel drive on lower trims and 4Motion all wheel drive on SEL Premium R-Line and the Arteon R. Drivetrain does not change the wheel hub spec. Both FWD and 4Motion AWD run the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and accept the same aftermarket wheel sizes. Square (non-staggered) is the factory and recommended configuration.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Volkswagen Arteon
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Arteon lineup:
- Arteon SE / SEL R-Line / SEL Premium R-Line (2019-2023): 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug bolts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18 to 21 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8 to 9 inch. Square fitment. MQB Evo platform.
- Arteon R (2022-2023): 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug bolts. Same fitment box as the SE / SEL trims. AWD 4Motion performance variant. Square fitment.
Offset windows are controlled by the Arteon fender opening and brake clearance. For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Arteon (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the Arteon wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on Volkswagen Arteon Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the Arteon. For the Arteon that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension on both FWD and 4Motion AWD configurations, brake caliper height across base and R trim packages, hub bore confirmation at 57.1mm, and lug bolt seat depth for M14x1.5 bolts. The fastback rear roofline and the longer wheelbase of the Arteon give the platform its own fender geometry compared to other MQB Evo cars, so we measure the Arteon as its own catalog row rather than infer the fitment from the Mk8 Golf or Atlas. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
Volkswagen Arteon Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Volkswagen Arteon?
Every Arteon (2019-2023) uses 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts. The same 5x112 / 57.1mm spec is shared with the rest of the modern VW passenger lineup (Jetta, Golf, GTI, Tiguan, Atlas, late-model Passat) and the smaller Audi cars (A3). A 5x112 wheel from a Q7 4M, Q8, or larger Audi sedan (A6 / A7 / A8) bolts to the Arteon hub but uses a larger 66.56mm hub bore and is sized for a different fender opening. The Porsche Cayenne is a separate case: it runs 5x130 across every generation and does not cross to an Arteon at all.
What is the centerbore on a Volkswagen Arteon?
57.1mm across every Arteon trim and every model year (2019-2023). A wheel bored to 57.1mm sits hub-centric on the Arteon. The 57.1mm hub is the smaller VW Group passenger-car spec, not the larger 66.56mm hub used on the C-chassis Audi sedans (A6, A7, A8 from the C7 forward) and the modern MLB Evo Audi SUVs (Q7 4M, Q8). The Cayenne and Touareg run 5x130 entirely, a different bolt pattern that does not bolt to an Arteon at all.
Does the Arteon R take a different wheel than the SE or SEL?
No. The Arteon R (2022-2023) is the AWD performance variant with more power, but it runs the same 5x112 bolt pattern, the same 57.1mm hub bore, the same M14x1.5 lug bolts, and the same aftermarket wheel window as the SE and SEL trims. Wheels that fit the SE Arteon fit the Arteon R. R-Line is an appearance package on SE and SEL chassis and does not change wheel specs.
Will Mk8 Golf or Atlas wheels fit an Arteon?
Bolt pattern crosses. Every modern MQB Evo car (Mk7.5 / Mk8 Golf, current Tiguan, Atlas, Arteon) shares 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore. The wheels bolt to the same hub. But the right wheel for one platform may not match the Arteon fender opening. The Arteon is longer, lower, and wider than the Golf, and the fender geometry differs from both the Tiguan and the Atlas SUVs. A Golf or Atlas wheel of the right diameter will bolt to the Arteon hub, but the offset may not line up with the Arteon fender. The Year/Make/Model search returns wheels fit-tested on your specific car.
Is the Arteon still being made?
Not for the North American market. The Arteon was discontinued in NA after the 2023 model year. The 2023 Arteon is the final NA-market car. Wheels for the entire 2019-2023 range remain available and we continue to support fitment on every trim and model year. If you own an Arteon and want to keep the car running into the 2030s, the aftermarket choices below are sized for long-term ownership.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on an Arteon?
21 inch is the top of our measured window on the Arteon. 19 to 20 inch is the most common Arteon aftermarket choice, paired with a low-profile tire that fills the long fastback fender opening. Above 21 inch, the tire becomes difficult to source for the Arteon load rating and ride quality drops sharply as sidewall thins.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Volkswagen Arteon?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 57.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I find the right wheels for my specific Arteon?
Bolt pattern is 5x112 on every Arteon with a 57.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts, so the spec side of the search is straightforward. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Arteon and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire captions. If you have the Arteon R or the SEL Premium R-Line with the larger factory wheels, the 20 to 21 inch aftermarket band is the most common choice. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
