The Volkswagen Atlas Bolt Pattern

Every Atlas uses 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts. VW runs lug bolts on the Atlas, not studs and nuts the way most American and Asian SUVs do. The lug bolt threads directly into the hub, the wheel sits between the head of the bolt and the hub face, and there is no lug stud to align the wheel before tightening. This makes a hub-centric fit more important on an Atlas than on a stud-and-nut SUV.

The 5x112 / 57.1mm spec on the Atlas matches the rest of the modern Volkswagen passenger lineup (Golf, GTI, Jetta, Tiguan, Arteon, Taos, ID.4) and the smaller Audi cars (A3). The practical answer: Atlas hub spec lines up with smaller VW Group passenger platforms, not the full-size luxury SUV family. Why Atlas Variant and Wheel Size Determine Wheel Fit

The standard 3-row Atlas and the shorter wheelbase Atlas Cross Sport share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, lug spec, and brake package. The wheel that fits one also fits the other from a hub-bolt-up standpoint. What differs slightly is body proportion. The Cross Sport has a shorter wheelbase, a lower roofline, and a less utilitarian rear, so customers commonly run a slightly more aggressive offset to lean into the sportier look. The 3-row standard Atlas customers tend to stay closer to factory offset to keep the SUV looking like a family hauler. The diameter window for both bodies runs 18 to 22 inch in our catalog. 20 inch is the most common Atlas aftermarket choice. Square (non-staggered) is the factory and recommended configuration on both bodies because the Atlas runs FWD or 4Motion AWD without a true rear-bias setup that would benefit from a wider rear wheel.

Atlas trim level (S, SE, SEL, R-Line) does not change the wheel hub spec. The R-Line is a styling and trim package, not a different mechanical setup. All trims share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and brake package. Drivetrain (FWD vs 4Motion AWD) does not change the wheel hub spec either, just the factory offset window slightly.
