The 5x112 pattern is shared more broadly with the full-size MLB Evo luxury SUVs (Q7, Q8, Cayenne, Touareg, Bentayga, Urus), but those SUVs run a larger 66.56mm hub bore. Bolt pattern says 5x112 wheels from those vehicles will line up with the Tiguan lug holes, but the hub bore is too large to sit hub-centric without rings, and the offset is sized for the larger fender openings on those vehicles. The practical answer: Tiguan hub spec lines up with the smaller VW Group passenger platforms, not the full-size luxury SUV family. Why Generation and Wheel Size Determine Tiguan Fit

The bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec are constant across both Tiguan generations. What differs is body proportion. The 1st gen Tiguan (2009-2017) is a noticeably smaller crossover, closer to the size of a tall Golf with raised ride height. Our 1st gen catalog window runs 16 to 20 inch diameter with 6.5 to 8.5 inch width, and most 1st gen aftermarket builds land at 18 inch. The 2nd gen Tiguan (2018 and up) is longer, wider, and rides on the MQB platform shared with the Atlas, Arteon, and GTI. It accepts a larger aftermarket wheel without looking out of proportion. Our 2nd gen catalog window runs 18 to 22 inch diameter with 8 to 9 inch width, and 19 or 20 inch is the most common 2nd gen choice. The SEL Premium R-Line trim ships with the largest factory wheel package, and the larger front brake on that trim takes more inner-barrel clearance than the base S and SE wheels do. Square (non-staggered) is the factory and recommended configuration on every Tiguan because the Tiguan runs FWD or 4Motion AWD without a rear-bias setup that would benefit from a wider rear wheel.
