Volvo C30 Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Volvo C30 is the 3-door compact hatchback Volvo sold in the US from the 2008 model year through the 2013 model year, the sporty coupe-style sibling to the 2nd gen S40 sedan and V50 wagon. The C30 was built on the Ford C1 platform Volvo developed during the Ford ownership years, the same chassis shared with the 2nd gen S40, the V50, the 2nd gen C70 retractable hardtop convertible, the 2nd gen Ford Focus, and the 1st gen Mazda 3. The C30 carries Volvo's 5x108 bolt pattern with a 63.4mm hub bore and M12x1.5 lug nuts on studs. Element Wheels has measured fitment on the C30 directly. Every US-market C30 from 2008 through 2013 runs the same 5x108 / 63.4mm spec. The chassis is square (non-staggered) front to rear across every trim. Compare across the rest of the Volvo lineup at our Volvo wheels and rims hub.
Find Your Volvo C30 Year
The C30 ran as a single generation from the 2008 model year through the 2013 model year in the US. This hub is one parent page covering every C30 year. Bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec are identical across every model year and trim. The catalog row applies to every C30 sold in the US.
The Volvo C30 Bolt Pattern
Every C30 from 2008 through 2013 runs 5x108 (also expressed as 5x4.25) with a 63.4mm hub bore. The pattern is consistent across every trim and every model year. All C30 lug hardware is M12x1.5 lug nuts on studs. 5x108 is the standard Volvo bolt pattern, used on the 2nd gen S40, V50, 2nd gen C70, modern XC40, XC60, XC90, S60, V60, S90, and V90. The 63.4mm hub bore on the C30 matches the rest of Volvo's 5x108 lineup, so wheels are commonly cross-shopped within the broader Volvo range when diameter and offset window also match.
The C30 sits on the Ford C1 platform that Volvo developed during the Ford ownership years. C1 is also the chassis underneath the 2nd gen S40 (the C30's sedan sibling), the V50 wagon, the 2nd gen C70 retractable hardtop convertible, the 2nd gen Ford Focus, and the 1st gen Mazda 3. The platform fact matters because the C30's chassis hard points are shared across these cars even though only the Volvo C1 cars carry the 5x108 / 63.4mm Volvo wheel spec. The Ford Focus and Mazda 3 versions of the C1 platform run their own bolt patterns. The Volvo C1 cars (S40, V50, C30, C70) share the same 5x108 / 63.4mm wheel hardware. One thing to note on lug thread specifically: the C30 uses M12x1.5 lug nuts, which is the older Volvo thread spec. Modern Volvos on the CMA and SPA platforms moved to M14x1.5. Lug hardware does not interchange between the C30 era and the modern Volvo era even though the bolt pattern and hub bore are the same. What 5x108 is NOT: it is not the same as 5x110 (common GM pattern) or 5x112 (common German pattern). A wheel built for those patterns will not bolt to a C30.
Volvo C30 Trims and Wheel Specs
The C30 was sold in the US across the 2008 through 2013 model years in several trims, starting with the 2.4i and the T5 (turbocharged inline five). The R-Design trim added a more aggressive aero package and matte-finish factory wheels. The Polestar Performance package (limited US availability later in the production run) tuned the T5 to higher output but did not change the wheel fitment hardware. All C30 trims share the same Ford C1 chassis, the same 5x108 / 63.4mm bolt pattern and hub bore, and the same M12x1.5 lug nut spec. Factory wheel diameter on the C30 ranges from 17 to 18 inch depending on trim, with the T5 trim and the R-Design package running 18 inch factory wheels.
The front brake on the C30 is matched in size to the rear brake on every trim. All C30 trims are square (non-staggered) front to rear. The C30 was front wheel drive only in the US market, with no T5 AWD trim sold here. Inside the Ford C1 Volvo family, the C30 is the sportiest body style: shortened wheelbase relative to the S40 and V50, two-door hatch with a full glass tailgate. Aftermarket builds on the C30 tend to lean into a tucked stance with larger diameter than the sedan or wagon siblings.

How We Confirm Fitment on Volvo C30 Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the C30. For the C30 that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on both axles, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension components, brake caliper height on the front and rear (matched on the C30), hub bore confirmation to the 63.4mm Volvo hub, lug seat depth on the M12x1.5 nuts, and tire clearance at full lock with the larger 19 and 20 inch options. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We do not pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
Volvo C30 Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Volvo C30?
Every C30 from 2008 through 2013 runs 5x108 (also expressed as 5x4.25) with a 63.4mm hub bore. The pattern is consistent across every trim and every model year. All C30 lug hardware is M12x1.5 lug nuts on studs. 5x108 is the standard Volvo bolt pattern across the broader Volvo range.
Does the C30 share wheels with the 2nd gen S40 and V50?
Yes. The C30 hatchback is the sportiest body in the Ford C1 Volvo family, alongside the 2nd gen S40 sedan and the V50 wagon. Bolt pattern (5x108), hub bore (63.4mm), and lug thread (M12x1.5) are identical across all three. The 2nd gen C70 convertible also shares the same wheel hardware. A C30 wheel will bolt to a 2nd gen S40, V50, or 2nd gen C70 at the lug-pattern level. Diameter, width, and offset still need to match each car's specific fitment window because the bodies are different sizes.
Does the C30 use lug nuts or lug bolts?
Lug nuts on studs, M12x1.5 thread. The studs are pressed into the hub and the nuts tighten against the wheel face. This is the older Volvo thread spec. Modern Volvos on the CMA and SPA platforms moved to M14x1.5. Lug hardware does not interchange between the C30 era and the modern Volvo era even though the bolt pattern and hub bore are the same. When mounting aftermarket wheels on a C30, the wheel face seat needs to match a lug nut seat.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Volvo C30?
Our measured Element aftermarket window tops at 20 inch on the C30. 18 inch is the factory diameter on the T5 and R-Design trims and the most popular daily-driver upgrade pick. 19 inch and 20 inch on the C30 require the right offset and tire profile to clear the inner fender and the suspension at full lock.
Are Volvo C30 wheels staggered?
No. The C30 ships square from the factory with the same wheel and tire size on every corner. It is front wheel drive only in the US, so a staggered rear setup offers no functional benefit. Aftermarket builds on the C30 also stay square front-rear.
Will Ford Focus or Mazda 3 wheels fit a C30?
No. The 2nd gen Ford Focus and 1st gen Mazda 3 ride on the same Ford C1 platform as the C30 at the chassis level, but the bolt patterns are different. Ford and Mazda used their own bolt pattern conventions on the C1 cars. The C30 uses Volvo's 5x108 / 63.4mm spec, which is unique to the Volvo branch of the platform. Confirm 5x108 specifically before ordering.
Can I use modern Volvo wheels on a C30?
The bolt pattern (5x108) and hub bore (63.4mm) are the same between the C30 and a modern XC60, S60, V60, or XC40, so a modern Volvo wheel will bolt to a C30 at the lug pattern level. The lug thread is different. The C30 uses M12x1.5 lug nuts, while modern CMA and SPA Volvos use M14x1.5 lug bolts or lug nuts. You can run a modern wheel on a C30 only if the wheel face seat is compatible with the C30's lug nut hardware. The offset window on a modern Volvo wheel may also be wrong for the C30's smaller fender wells, so confirm offset before committing.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Volvo C30?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel centerbore is larger than the 63.4mm C30 hub. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
