Understanding the 5x127 Bolt Pattern

5x127, also known as 5x5, is the five lug wheel mounting pattern shared by Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Volkswagen vehicles in our fitment records, alongside Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Pontiac models on a separate hub bore group. It covers 58 vehicles across our records, spanning eight makes. Shoppers moving between a Jeep and a Chevrolet, or a Volkswagen and a Buick, in this pattern will find wheels sized for each group in the directory below.

Reading the 5x127 Pattern and Confirming Your Fit

5x127 describes a five lug wheel with a 127mm bolt circle, the imaginary circle running through the center of each lug hole. Divide 127mm by 25.4mm per inch and you get the inch form, 5x5, which labels the same physical pattern on many older American vehicles and some aftermarket wheel boxes. Both numbers describe the identical pattern, just in different units.

To confirm your vehicle uses 5x127, look it up in the vehicle directory on this page. If your make or model is not listed there, contact us and we will confirm the pattern for you before you order. Getting this match exact is non negotiable since a wheel drilled for any other bolt pattern will not mount to the hub.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 5x5 the same as 5x127?

Yes, 5x5 and 5x127 are the same bolt pattern written in different units. 5x127 refers to a 127mm bolt circle, while 5x5 states that same measurement in inches, since 127mm divided by 25.4mm per inch equals 5 inches. Both labels appear interchangeably across Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Volkswagen vehicles in our fitment records.

What vehicles use a 5x127 bolt pattern?

Vehicles from Jeep, Chevrolet, Dodge, Chrysler, GMC, Buick, Pontiac and Volkswagen use this pattern in our fitment records, including 58 vehicles total across those eight makes. The exact models vary by hub bore and lug thread, so check the vehicle directory on this page for your specific vehicle.

Can a wheel with a different bolt pattern fit my 5x127 vehicle?

No, the bolt pattern must match exactly for a wheel to mount safely. A wheel drilled for any pattern other than 5x127 will not line up with your hub, regardless of how close the lug count or circle size looks. Our fitment guarantee covers getting this match right.

What hub bore do 5x127 vehicles use?

Most 5x127 vehicles in our fitment records use a 71.5mm hub bore, including Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Volkswagen models. Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac and Buick vehicles more commonly use 78.1mm or 78.3mm bores, and a few Dodge and Chevrolet vehicles use 71.6mm or 50.0mm. Match hub centric rings to your specific vehicle's bore.

What wheel sizes are available in 5x127?

We carry 5x127 wheels from 15 to 30 inches in diameter and 6 to 14 inches in width, across more than 1,700 wheel styles. Brands we carry in this pattern include Fuel Off-Road Wheels, KMC Wheels, Method Race Wheels and ICON Wheels, among others. Offsets on these vehicles in our records typically range from negative 24mm to 50mm.

What lug thread size does 5x127 use?

All use lug nuts.
