The Acura CL was Acura's two-door luxury coupe, sold from 1998 through 2003 across two generations. Acura did not replace the CL coupe after 2003. The CL is a discontinued nameplate now, but the catalog stays live because CL wheel fitment is still a common request from owners of the 1998-2000 1st gen CL 2.3 / CL 3.0 and the 2001-2003 2nd gen YA4 CL 3.2 (including the highly-sought CL Type-S 6-speed manual built in 2003). The bolt pattern moved once across the CL lifetime. The 1998-2000 1st gen CL 2.3 (4-cylinder) and CL 3.0 (V6) both ran 4x114.3 with a 64.1mm hub bore. The 2001-2003 2nd gen CL 3.2 (YA4 chassis) moves to 5x114.3 with the same 64.1mm hub bore. Both generations are coupe-only with M12x1.5 wheel studs. The 2nd gen CL is built on the same chassis as the 7th gen Honda Accord coupe, which means cross-shopping fitment data with the Accord is useful. The Acura CL Bolt Pattern Across 6 Model Years

The CL carried two bolt patterns across its 1998-2003 production run, with the change at the 2001 generation transition. The 1998-2000 1st gen CL was built on the same era chassis as the 6th gen Honda Accord coupe, and both the CL 2.3 (4-cylinder) and CL 3.0 (V6) ran 4x114.3 (also called 4x4.5) with a 64.1mm hub bore. The 4-lug pattern is the older luxury coupe layout that Acura ran on the same-era 1st gen TL 2.5 and the 1st gen Legend.

The 2001-2003 2nd gen CL 3.2 (YA4 chassis, V6 only) moves to 5x114.3 with the same 64.1mm hub bore. The 5-lug transition came alongside Acura's full move to the YA4 platform that it shared with the 2001-2003 TL and the 7th gen Honda Accord coupe. The 5x114.3 pattern is sometimes called 5x4.5 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). A wheel from a 2000 CL (4-lug 4x114.3) does not bolt onto a 2001 CL (5-lug 5x114.3) and vice versa. The 2001 generation transition is the single most important spec to confirm when cross-shopping CL wheels. The hub bore staying constant at 64.1mm across both generations makes the CL different from the Legend, where the bore changed at the same lug-count transition. Why the 4-Lug 1st Gen and 5-Lug 2nd Gen CL Are Separate Fitments

The CL is a clean generation break in the Acura lineup. The 1st gen CL (1998-2000) and the 2nd gen CL (2001-2003) cannot share a wheel. Different bolt count (4 vs 5). The hub bore (64.1mm) and thread (M12x1.5) carry across, but the lug count alone makes the two generations incompatible. Within the 1st gen CL, the CL 2.3 (4-cylinder) and CL 3.0 (V6) share the same fitment box. Within the 2nd gen CL, the base CL 3.2 (automatic) and the Type-S (3.2L higher-output V6, available with a 6-speed manual in 2003) share the same bolt pattern and hub bore. The Type-S carries a slightly upgraded brake package but stays within the 2nd gen CL fitment window. The Type-S 6-speed manual is the enthusiast pick within the CL lineup and a rare car (single year of production for the manual transmission).
