Acura RLX Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Acura RLX was Acura's full-size luxury flagship from 2014 through 2020, the direct successor to the RL nameplate. Acura did not replace the RLX after the 2020 model year, ending Acura's run in the full-size luxury sedan segment. The RLX is a discontinued nameplate now, but the catalog stays live because RLX wheel fitment is still a common request from owners. The bolt pattern is stable across the entire RLX production run. Every RLX from 2014 through 2020 runs 5x120 with a 64.1mm hub bore. The wheel stud thread changes once mid-cycle: 2014-2018 RLX uses M12x1.5 studs, 2019-2020 RLX moves to thicker M14x1.5 studs. The RLX was offered with two distinct drivetrains. The base RLX with P-AWS (Precision All-Wheel Steer) is front-wheel-drive with a rear-steer system. The RLX Sport Hybrid uses SH-AWD with a three-motor hybrid powertrain. Both drivetrain configurations share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and our measured aftermarket fitment window. Find your year range below for the specs that apply to your specific RLX.

Find Your Acura RLX Year Range

Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific RLX. The bolt pattern is constant at 5x120 / 64.1mm hub bore across every RLX. The thread pitch is the one spec that changes mid-cycle. 2014-2018 RLX (early production): M12x1.5 wheel studs. 2019-2020 RLX (post-facelift): M14x1.5 wheel studs. Drivetrain (P-AWS front-wheel-drive vs Sport Hybrid SH-AWD) does not change the wheel fitment box.

The Acura RLX Bolt Pattern Across 7 Model Years

The RLX carried one bolt pattern across its entire production run from 2014 to 2020. Every RLX is 5x120 with a 64.1mm hub bore. The 5x120 pattern is the same one Acura was running on the 2nd gen RL (2005-2012), the 2007-2009 MDX, the 2010-2013 ZDX, the 2009-2014 4th gen TL, and the 2021 and up TLX. 5x120 has no imperial nickname (unlike 5x114.3 which is sometimes called 5x4.5). The 64.1mm hub bore is Acura's standard across most of the lineup.

The wheel stud thread changes once during the RLX lifetime. 2014-2018 RLX uses M12x1.5 studs. 2019-2020 RLX uses thicker M14x1.5 studs. The thread pitch change does not affect bolt pattern or hub bore, but it does affect lug nut compatibility (a 12x1.5 lug nut will not thread onto a 14x1.5 stud, and vice versa). Confirm thread pitch when buying a new lug nut set with your wheels. Compare across the rest of the Acura lineup at our Acura wheels and rims hub.

Why P-AWS and Sport Hybrid SH-AWD RLX Share the Same Fitment Box

The RLX was offered with two drivetrain configurations across its run. The base RLX with P-AWS (Precision All-Wheel Steer) is a front-wheel-drive car with rear-steer assist. The RLX Sport Hybrid uses SH-AWD with a three-motor hybrid powertrain (one engine-driven motor at the front, two independent motors at the rear). On most cars the drivetrain change would push a wheel into a different fitment window. On the RLX it does not. Both configurations share the same bolt pattern, the same 64.1mm hub bore, the same factory diameter range, the same factory width range, and the same measured aftermarket fitment box. The Sport Hybrid carries extra weight from the hybrid battery, but the wheel-and-tire fitment math comes out the same.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Acura RLX

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the RLX year ranges:

  • RLX (2014-2018): 5x120 bolt pattern, 64.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, lug nut seat. P-AWS and Sport Hybrid SH-AWD share this spec. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18 to 20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7.5 to 9 inch square.
  • RLX (2019-2020): 5x120 bolt pattern, 64.1mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug thread, lug nut seat. P-AWS and Sport Hybrid SH-AWD share this spec. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18 to 20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7.5 to 9 inch square.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific RLX (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the Acura RLX wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Acura RLX Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the RLX across the 2014-2018 early production cars and the 2019-2020 post-facelift cars. For the RLX that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation, lug seat depth on both the M12x1.5 early cars and the M14x1.5 late cars, and turning clearance with the P-AWS rear-steer system engaged. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

That measurement work is what confirmed for us that P-AWS and Sport Hybrid SH-AWD share the same aftermarket fitment box, what produced the 7.5 to 9 inch width window across both year ranges, and what lets us flag the 2018 to 2019 M12 to M14 thread transition so customers don't reuse a lug nut set across that boundary. The Fitment Guarantee covers it either way, but the goal is to get it right the first time.

Acura RLX Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on an Acura RLX?

Every RLX from 2014 through 2020 runs 5x120 with a 64.1mm hub bore. Wheel stud thread is M12x1.5 on 2014-2018 RLX and M14x1.5 on 2019-2020 RLX. Drivetrain (P-AWS or Sport Hybrid SH-AWD) does not change the bolt pattern.

Did the RLX bolt pattern change at any point?

No. The bolt pattern stayed 5x120 / 64.1mm across the entire 2014-2020 production run. The one mid-cycle change was wheel stud thread pitch: M12x1.5 on 2014-2018 cars, M14x1.5 on 2019-2020 cars. The thread pitch affects lug nut compatibility but not bolt pattern.

The RLX was discontinued. Will RL wheels fit my RLX?

The RLX replaced the RL for the 2014 model year. The 2nd gen RL (2005-2012) runs 5x120 / 64.1mm, the same pattern as the RLX. But brake setup, fender clearance, and offset windows differ between the two cars. The 1st gen RL (1997-2004) runs 5x114.3 and won't bolt onto an RLX at all. We measure the RL and the RLX as separate platforms. Confirm a wheel was fit-tested on your specific RLX year before ordering.

Does Sport Hybrid SH-AWD change wheel fitment vs the base P-AWS RLX?

No. The base RLX with P-AWS (front-wheel-drive with rear-steer assist) and the RLX Sport Hybrid with SH-AWD share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, diameter range, width range, and measured aftermarket fitment box. The Sport Hybrid carries extra weight from the hybrid battery but the wheel-and-tire fitment math comes out the same.

What's the difference between a 2018 RLX and a 2019 RLX for wheels?

The 2019 model year brought a mid-cycle refresh and a change in wheel stud thread from M12x1.5 to M14x1.5. The bolt pattern, hub bore, diameter range, and width range all stayed the same. A wheel bolts to either car. The lug nut set does not cross over. If you're putting wheels from a 2018 car onto a 2019 car, you need a new lug nut set sized for M14x1.5 studs.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on an Acura RLX?

Our measured aftermarket window tops at 20 inch on every RLX year. 20 inch is the most popular aftermarket choice on the RLX, since 19 inch was already standard equipment on most factory trims. Above 20 inch, tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops and the wheel sits at curb-damage risk.

Do I need hub centric rings on an Acura RLX?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 64.1mm. The hub bore is uniform 64.1mm across every RLX year, P-AWS and Sport Hybrid. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

How do I find the right wheels for my specific Acura RLX build?

Three steps. Confirm your year (2014-2018 M12 vs 2019-2020 M14 for lug nut sizing). Confirm your trim (base P-AWS or Sport Hybrid SH-AWD, though the wheel box is the same on both). Then use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific RLX and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation if you're crossing the 2018 to 2019 thread boundary with an existing lug nut set. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
