Audi Q7 Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Audi Q7 is Audi's full-size three-row SUV. Element Wheels measures the Q7 across two generations: the 4L (2007-2015) and the 4M (2017 and up). The 4L ran 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore, the SUV bolt pattern Audi shares with the Porsche Cayenne and the Volkswagen Touareg on the same chassis architecture. The 4M moved to 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore, matching the rest of the Audi and VW Group passenger-car family. That 2017 bolt-pattern jump is the single most important spec to get right when cross-shopping wheels between the older Q7 and the current one. Pick your generation below for the fitment specs.
Find Your Audi Q7 Generation
Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Q7. Bolt pattern changes between the 4L and the 4M. The 4L (2007-2015) runs 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore. The 4M (2017 and up) runs 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. Wheels do not bolt across that transition.
The Audi Q7 Bolt Pattern
The Q7 has run two bolt patterns over its history. The 4L (2007-2015) used 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore. From 2017 forward the 4M moved to 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. The 2017 break is the single most important spec to get right when buying wheels for a 4M, because aftermarket wheels listed for "Audi Q7" without a year filter will sometimes default to the legacy 5x130 pattern from the 4L era. A 5x130 wheel does NOT bolt onto a 4M and a 5x112 wheel does NOT bolt onto a 4L.
Worth knowing: 5x130 is the Audi-Porsche-VW SUV platform pattern from the 2000s. The 4L Q7 sits on the same architecture as the first-generation Porsche Cayenne and the first-generation Volkswagen Touareg, and all three of those SUVs share 5x130 / 71.6mm CB. That heritage matters when you find a used set of OEM Cayenne or Touareg wheels and wonder if they fit the 4L Q7 (they bolt; offset and brake clearance are the next questions). 5x130 is NOT the same as 5x112 used on every other modern Audi sedan, wagon, and the 4M Q7. The two patterns sit roughly 18mm apart and are not interchangeable.
Why the Q7 Generation Matters for Wheel Fit
Each Q7 generation carries its own diameter window. The 4L (2007-2015) ran an 18 to 22 inch aftermarket window. The 4M added a 24 inch top end and dropped the smallest diameter, running 20 to 24 inch across both the 2017-2019 early build and the 2020 and up facelift. The 4M also runs a tighter offset window than the 4L because the larger 4M brake package leaves less clearance behind the wheel face. The Q7 is a square (non-staggered) fitment from the factory across every generation, and almost every aftermarket Q7 build also runs square.

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Q7 generations:
- 4L Q7 (2007-2015): 5x130 bolt pattern, 71.6mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18 to 22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8 to 10.5 inch.
- 4M Q7 (2017-2019): 5x112 bolt pattern, 66.56mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 20 to 24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8.5 to 10.5 inch.
- 4M Q7 facelift (2020 and up): 5x112 bolt pattern, 66.56mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 20 to 24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8.5 to 10.5 inch.
For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Q7 (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the Q7 wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
The 2007-2015 4L is the only modern Audi SUV in our catalog that uses 5x130. Every newer Audi SUV (the 4M Q7, the Q5 family, the Q8 family, and the e-tron lineup) runs 5x112. If you are stepping up from a 4L to a newer Audi SUV, none of your old wheels bolt across. Compare against the rest of the Audi lineup at our Audi wheels and rims hub.
How We Confirm Fitment on Audi Q7 Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every Q7 generation. For the Q7 that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation (71.6mm on the 4L, 66.56mm on the 4M), lug stud height, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
That measurement work is what produced the chassis-specific fitment windows on this page. It is also why every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
Audi Q7 Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on an Audi Q7?
It depends on the generation. The 4L Q7 (2007-2015) used 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore, the Audi/Porsche/VW SUV platform pattern. The 4M Q7 (2017 and up) moved to 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore, matching the rest of the Audi passenger-car family. A 5x130 wheel does not bolt onto a 4M and a 5x112 wheel does not bolt onto a 4L.
4L vs 4M Q7: what changes for wheels?
Bolt pattern and centerbore both change. The 4L runs 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub. The 4M runs 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub. Diameter window changes too: the 4L takes 18 to 22 inch in our measured aftermarket window, and the 4M takes 20 to 24 inch. The 4M also runs a tighter offset window than the 4L because the larger 4M brake package reduces the clearance behind the wheel face. Each generation needs its own wheel set.
Why does the 4L Q7 use 5x130 when other Audis use 5x112?
The 4L Q7 sits on the Audi-Porsche-VW SUV platform from the mid-2000s, shared with the first-generation Porsche Cayenne and the first-generation Volkswagen Touareg. That platform used 5x130 / 71.6mm CB because of the SUV's load capacity and weight class. The 5x112 family used on Audi sedans was a passenger-car pattern Audi did not bring to the early SUV platform. By the time the 4M arrived in 2017, Audi consolidated its SUV lineup onto the 5x112 family, ending the 5x130 chapter on the Q7.
Are Audi Q7 wheels staggered?
No. The Q7 runs a square (non-staggered) fitment from the factory across every generation, and almost every aftermarket Q7 build also runs square. The Quattro AWD system and the load distribution on a three-row SUV both benefit from the same wheel and tire size on every corner.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on an Audi Q7?
Our measured aftermarket window tops at 22 inch on the 4L (2007-2015) and 24 inch on the 4M (2017 and up). Above the measured window, tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops sharply and the wheel sits at risk of curb damage. Most 4M Q7 customers stop at 22 inch or pick a 24 inch with a tire spec that protects the lip.
Will Porsche Cayenne wheels fit my 4L Q7?
The 4L Q7 sits on the same Audi-Porsche-VW SUV platform as the first-generation Cayenne and the first-generation Touareg, and all three share 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore. The wheels bolt to the same hub. Offset and brake clearance still vary platform to platform, so a Cayenne wheel that fits a Cayenne nicely can sit too deep or too far out on a Q7. The 4M Q7 (2017 and up) does NOT share a bolt pattern with the Cayenne and the wheels do not cross.
Do I need hub centric rings on an Audi Q7?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than your factory hub (71.6mm on the 4L, 66.56mm on the 4M). If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I find the right wheels for my specific Audi Q7?
Pick your generation above. The 4L (2007-2015) is 5x130 and the 4M (2017 and up) is 5x112 - those wheels do not cross. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Q7 (each listing shows its own offset) and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. If you are stepping up from a 4L to a 4M or you are not sure which generation you have, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
